this dude is so legit. great basketball mind and amazing competitor. hes got a long career ahead of him in the nba.
@@ryu-ken big time. knows the physical part from being a player and knows the analytical side too. great combo.
i feel like defense is one of those skills that don't age well, as it's mostly reliant on physical capabilities (height/length/strength) and reaction time
@@aaa.internet7014 not really actually, i mean he is a really good defender even though most people he defends against have much better physical capabilities. Ofc its important too but knowing the game and knowing the enemy player is more important as he explains in the video
@@joileyfflow2361 Caruso is actually a high level athlete. Dude is really fast and strong with good hops
@@aaa.internet7014 well no
Dudes gonna be a coach one day
I can easily see that, he passes the eye test and you can tell he has a very high basketball IQ from the way he moves and plays defense
Watch the games while he's injured. He is coaching now.
I swear if he becomes a coach we are talking about Phil Jackson levels.
@@heyshitassss calm down there buddy
@@stevestir8628 lol 😂
This man went from a meme to an all nba defender
he was only a meme for other teams, the Lakers fanbase values him as a decent roleplayer and now with the bulls, he can finally show more that's why he's becoming popular
Yup great move changing to the bulls.
@@beposfather Lakers fanbase sadly not the GM
@@beposfather the lakers fanbase called caruso the goat
@@jyun3102 you mean LeBron?
I remember Jrue Holiday did this last year. Great to see AC break down his most valuable skill🔒
Where can I watch it? I love watching Jrue play defense.
I love how we started to appreciate defensive guards like AC, Jrue, Thybulle, Gp2, etc. And as a NBA fans I want to see a guard win DPOY, because GP is the one and only like on 25 years
@@yoyoyo8551 forgot vanvleet
Whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life repent for the kingdom of God is at hand! Jesus is returning to judge the living and the dead
@@poweroftruth9258 Amen
We need to normalize more defensive stats. So many defensive guys go way too under appreciated because casuals only care about blocks and steals.
That's what the DPOY is for. Anyone that doesn't get mentioned or nominated for the award practically sucks at Defense imo or else their defensive talents would've gone noticed.
@@timothyahn2006 The DPOY is an award. I said a defensive stat. For example, D-PIPM.
@@timothyahn2006 dpoy is harder to measure without looking extensively at match footage than something like mvp, roty or mip since there's less stats that track it (defence) compared to the other three which look at everything
@@coledorillo6685 And doesn't the award award people for something unmeasured? Such as causing people to miss shots and such? For example Bowen got awarded because of his defensive abilities and not just on blocks or steals.
@@timothyahn2006 your missing the point. If a player has a monster scoring game, it attracts big headlines. However, if a player has a monster defensive game, it is not as mainstream. This causes people in general to underrate defensive players. I just want to give defensive players more love.
Miss him on the Lakers, glad he’s thriving in Chicago 💯
As a Lakers fan fuck the front office paying THT over Caruso. Caruso was probably one of the most consistent and well rounded players on the Lakers. Should've never picked up WestBrook and picked up someone with less ego that's cheaper. We already got Lebron and AD we need a supporting cast not ball hogging idiots.
@@justinnguyen3091 giving him up was one of the worst moves they’ve made recently
@@justinnguyen3091 fr they needed players like Myles turner, Caruso, and Buddy
he white tho lmao
Thriving?
Crazy how many defensive highlights he's already got with just a few games with the Bulls. Just shows how great he is in defense, Man I sure do miss him in LA but Im rooting for the Bulls with AC and Ball.
i love how he actually breaks it down and tells why hes so good and doesnt just say the usual "you know its easy when you got great teammates, im really not doing much, its all my teammates." bullshit answer.
I mean thats the point of the segment right ?
Love that he know that he outworks most people defensively and that he does his part so well that the rest of the team has to match his defensive intensity.
This video deserves to go viral. That was just genius on display there in terms of Basketball IQ. Draymond said it the best, defensive players understand the game more as a result of constantly having to predict the competitions offensive schemes. Guys that elevate to this level of understanding usually stick around for their smarts on the floor, Draymond is a perfect example and Caruso is following him. When guys like Draymond or Caruso are in, you can see a spark in team defensive energy, guys are contesting, flying to get into the right spots, and lively. The way how he explained the Julius Randle play was a masterpiece. The task at hand and not trying to overdo that task, esp in a double team situation. Contrast that with the last play of the Lakers where Russell was caught off-guard with his steal attempt, when all he had to do was literally stood in front of Reggie Jackson he overdid the play.
“The task at hand and not trying to overdo the task …” Really appreciate this comment. I hope folks read this. Applies to way more than ball.
@@dannyezechukwu1175 that was a really good comment even for me
For real like Lonzo’s always been a good defender but feel like playing with a defensive leader like Caruso again has really taken him to that next level as well. Having those 2 on the court is a cheat code for them
I feel like Caruso is one of those players that watch and studies NBA games all the time, because sometimes scouting reports may miss a thing or two about their match ups
This is most pros though. When you get to this level, this is what separates players. You get the competitive advantage by knowing tendencies and the little details. This is why Ballislife guys will never make it at this level. They are good at basketball. Basketball isn't really their jobs though. A pro is a pro. Bigass difference.
It kills me that he's not on the floor right now because of a dirty play that lead to an injury.
From a notoriously dirty player too fuck Grayson Allen
Omg I was awaiting for someone to make this comment. Such a dirty player. I wish someone did what did to Caruso . He deserves it
he'll be back for playoffs, just you wait!
Bucks fan here. I hate grayson allen
@@wizthegoat9462 thank you… Grayson really hurt our season with that punk move
this needs to be a series. It's so fascinating to hear players breakdown plays
Facts
Lonzo and Caruso are the best defensive backcourt in the NBA right now. If I were a guard, I would hate to play against the Bulls
They’re both out at the moment that’s why the bulls are losing games, AC and Zo are such a good defensive combo and yeah Bulls beat the nets twice this season thanks to them
The Bulls could be a serious problem if they have a full healthy roster come playoff time. I could definitely see them getting out of the east. Unless Kyrie gets vaccinated and KD comes back 100%
@@therealjayz8036 bulls still need a rebouding big and i heard they’re targeting Jakob poetl, if they get him then they’ll be good enough to make it out the east
They got AYO now too. Imagine all three out there playing defense 😂
@@martezhodges3418 yeah they have Ayo but he’s no where near AC and Zo on defense, ac and Zo are like the splash brothers on defense
Can't wait to see his defense and hustle on the court back again.
He's got such a great defensive mind set, he plays so reactively & just uses his instincts to mimic the offensive players movement, whilst also predicting & judging their next move options. He's got a great work ethic too, absolutely relentless & consistent when he's on the court. Honestly one of the most exciting players to watch play the game in the league right now.
Get better soon, GOAT!
This man’s mindset and competitiveness epitomizes the Chicago Bulls franchise. We we hope we get to keep him for a lonnngg time. ❤️
He makes defense exciting to watch, hope he can get back soon.
The fact that he woulda took less money to stay with the Lakers shows how BAD of a GM Pelinka is.
Ugh, don't get me started....lol
The Lakers got rid of AC then got older.
It was a great move by Pelinka, says Bulls Nation 😁
I'm still missing dlo and Ingram. They'll never come back to LA either
U have got it wrong. The Lakers let him go so he would get paid. They couldn't pay him
Hope Alex Caruso has a great career ahead. He is smart and hard working. Definitely becoming a coach.
I fucking love defense and I loved this breakdown. There's so much more mind games and strategy when playing defense, and honestly I love the feeling of killing the momentum of offense. I believe it takes a bigger toll on a player/team's mental when they get frustrated about not being able to score like they usually would.
Nothing like watching the guard's eyes as you clamp him up and see his confidence crumble. Good D will get you so many minutes
Defense is where it’s at 👌🏼
As a Lakers fan this is bittersweet. I love watching him grow, but miss him on the Lakers.
L
More of these please! Simple details are often overlooked and I realized that it's more complicated than just playing "defense"
I love this kind of segment that promotes good defense and puts shine on the players that take defense seriously. Dudes a beast and its cool to see his success.
This was so good. Love to hear more player analysis of plays like this one.
I was so upset when the Lakers didn't resign Caruso. Such a good player.
Always great to hear from the G.O.A.T. 💪🐐
Hope BR do a breakdown of how AC supported the team offense soon! Bulls offense is so lively with him on the floor + not playing iso.
Love breakdowns like this! So insightful. More please! offense, defense, coaching
I love this dude keep working 🏀🔥
Defensive players are the epitome of team players. They understand team defensive concepts such as knowing where the help comes, how unselfish defense is and particularly ball pressure is important to the team's defensive scheme.
Invaluable player, look at bulls defense with him off the floor, so good
Caruso so inspirational!
AC is awesome, what a player, hope he gets back to 100 % soon, he and Lonzo are vital for the Bulls hope to make a deep playoff run
I hope so. Many prayers.
love having this dude in Chicago, get healthy G!!
This is really cool and we need more of it!!
This is a great vid and I really hope for the time where the league becomes a defensive oriented League like it used to be
i love watching him defend. honestly he is my favorite player right now, brings so much energy the moment he steps in... I will forever hate Grayson Allen how he almost ended AC's career. get better AC and please stay healthy once you come back
Alex and Zo will be very important come playoff time. Can't wait for the bulls to be healthy again.
I may need to rewatch this video. Good information and advice from a good defender who is committed to playing defense.
That was dope mad respect
We miss you Alex! -Sincerely, LA
I miss this guy!!! Get well soon Carushow
This was awesome!
Winning mindset. Love AC's game and the breakdown on the defensive end.
this is some awesome content fr
This took defense on a level I never thought about. Awesome video
Great breakdown !! Awesome mind and hard worker
This bulls team is so fun to watch!
Do more videos like this please 🔥
Crazy skills and understanding of the game.
Oh man, we need a defense series from Alex Caruso where he explains the defense on some games!
I love watching great defenders do breakdowns on how to guard the best players in the NBA.. so glad the goat is on my hometown team.. can’t wait for him to get back as well as Zo..
Caruso is pretty much solidifying himself as my favorite current player. Just such a cool guy and growing rapidly in his game
Awesome dude
I hope you people win....i am rooting for you man! Carushow!
Pure respect on this guy
This was so fun to watch, didn’t realise defence highlights could be jus as entertaining as offence. I shud watch more of these!
Man, Caruso would be a Helluva coach
his dad is a coach that's why
Legend
Alex you will always be in our hearts L.A misses you
Quality vid
amazing insight
Absolute defensive beast keep it up
What a great video. We need more defensive work ethic in the current NBA.
Great inside breakdown
this is awesome
Over the years I became a true fan of him! Such a humble guy, work ethic, unbelievable high Basketball IQ and the fact while others care about scoring he is doing all the „dirty“ work which is almost forgotten in this new NBA.
I enjoyed this content.
Dam the goat back at it
hell yea this guy contests every shot, puts so much pressure on opposing teams, and helps get the Bulls EASY peasy fast break opportunities. GOAT!
Fire video
Caruso is such a solid NBA player. Glad to see he’s getting some recognition.
quality content
My boy ruso 💪🏾
great vid
Thank you for making this possible bleacher rapport! Love this sequence.🔥 Espically as a Lakers man myself. The goat Caruso has a very High game IQ💪🏼🚀🐐 And now that He’s home chillin’ he should have some time left over😆
Bro I remember last year my last game of the season I got to start and coach was super impressed with my defense so he left me in the game, I got the piont guard to turn it over 12 times 2 of the possessions were important for the other team to win because they were down 2, I also had 9 steals, 1 blk, I had a few more forced turnovers on some other players I think 3 more, had 6 points but idk defense that I can play my way is fun and it’s good to see others frustrated because of it
we need him and Zo back because the energy they bring on that side of the ball
Soon as caruso and lonzo comes back again the defense is gonna improve substantially than what it is right now
I want the CourtOptix of Dorian Finney-Smith!!! These breakdowns are awesome.
I really miss seeing the legend play!!
This was actually even better than I thought it was gonna be
Get well soon champ!
He plays defense like I do on 2k. Which is crazy because to me the clock and other players are always visible but to him he only has full sight of his match up, so he’s always anticipating other players moves and keeping time while being on ball. Insane really
can’t wait to see you back on the court Carushooow
The CaruShow is legit! Good to have him in my favorite NBA team. Hopefully he'll get back healthy soon!
As a Laker fan im proud of Alex, have a good career with the Bulls brother♥️
He could go on any network and instantly make a impact on viewership.
💯🙌🏼🔥 It’s obious He as a very High game IQ, and eye for the details
CARUSGOAT!!🔥
Captain Caruso ❤❤❤❤
I hope he comes back healthy after his wrist injury. Caruso is an interesting player and personality. I’m happy someone like Caruso who was given nothing is succeeding in Chicago.
This is so Dope,. And Caruso is the Snake
dude, more of carushow. I love underdog hustle. I could watch 4 hours of him explaining how to guard NBA superstars.
miss him so much, how well the bulls played defend with him
Can't wait to see him back after his injury!
Thank you Lakers!!! 🙏🙏🙏
I miss this guy so much in LA
Metrics! It really helps players work harder on every detail 👌🏻
showing the effect of defence in stats would be highly appreciated. eg how the defender effects on the ops fg%
