  • This video deserves to go viral. That was just genius on display there in terms of Basketball IQ. Draymond said it the best, defensive players understand the game more as a result of constantly having to predict the competitions offensive schemes. Guys that elevate to this level of understanding usually stick around for their smarts on the floor, Draymond is a perfect example and Caruso is following him. When guys like Draymond or Caruso are in, you can see a spark in team defensive energy, guys are contesting, flying to get into the right spots, and lively. The way how he explained the Julius Randle play was a masterpiece. The task at hand and not trying to overdo that task, esp in a double team situation. Contrast that with the last play of the Lakers where Russell was caught off-guard with his steal attempt, when all he had to do was literally stood in front of Reggie Jackson he overdid the play.

    • This is most pros though. When you get to this level, this is what separates players. You get the competitive advantage by knowing tendencies and the little details. This is why Ballislife guys will never make it at this level. They are good at basketball. Basketball isn't really their jobs though. A pro is a pro. Bigass difference.
