Yet the man is 6'5", he was definitely heavier than some of the super skinny guys I've ever seen come into to the NBA over the years, and last but not least for a man with no athleticism he sure has posterized a number of players over the years.
Alex has been my favorite player on this team. Total hustle, high IQ, defense minded player we totally needed to complement this roster. So hyped!

Great video. You forgot to mention an important point about Caruso: The guy knows his role! Since he's not one of the top scorers on the team, his job is hold the ball and look for Lavine, DeRozan and open shooters. He'll only take 5-6 shots a game. Many young players will look for their own shots. Caruso is a just winning player.
he is top 5 defenders in the league even with little minutes played and others(with exception of Jokic) are not even that far away, if he played more minutes he would be #2 defender in the league now and that's just because Jokic is basically playing alone at this point, solo on offense, solo on defense and Bulls already got pretty good defense with Vuc specially

Alex Caruso continues to prove his worth night in and night out. Helps Bulls establish an identity. Significant signing to say the least. Another significant (re)signing was Javonte Green. Although he’s primarily played out of position, he still makes contributions to the effort and energy of the Bulls. Kudos to the FO for bringing him back and bringing in Caruso.

Our front office struck gold when we signed Carusso, I never doubted wit him or Ball, seeing we were addressing our defense b4 we signed them, once I heard we got them both I said our defense is upgraded, hasn't been like this since tha Thibs era...
Caruso and Ball brought a defensive identity that has trickled down to the rest of the roster. It seems like every guy on the team has bought into playing defense, even guys who were previously considered bad defenders.

Fun video! I watched him his whole career at Texas A&M. I think he still is the all-time steals leader (if not, it felt like it). His assist/TO ratio was always outstanding. He was never the best player on the court, that was usually Danuel House, but he ran the show on offense and defense. Absolute floor general and would always throw down an unexpectant dunk.

Long time Laker fan here. I was really disappointed when we let Caruso get away. He's a fun player who provides a lot of value, just like you said, and he's still got room to grow on offense. At the end of 2018-19 when Lebron was injured and the Lakers were awful, they just ran out the bench guys and let them play every game. Caruso looked fantastic (this was where his 32 point game came in) as the primary point guard. Inconsistent for sure, but he looked like a real player when most fans thought he was just a bad, low-skill guy at the end of the bench. The next year he started games in the finals and was an important piece of a title winner. And then we couldn't pay him $9M/year to stay :-(. I think there's a good chance he makes an all-defense team this year even though he still typically comes off the bench. The only players I know to do that are Michael Cooper (Lakers) and Dennis Rodman (Pistons). Our loss is your gain, I guess. Edit: let's be real here - he's a scrappy white guy with thinning hair who throws down the occasional highlight dunk, and he's not an arrogant jerk in public. He was always going to be a fan favorite. Also, I'm not sure where you're getting the "doesn't have the size to play in the NBA" bit from - he's 6'5" and clearly athletic. Sure, he's visibly fitter and stronger now than when he came in, but he never looked like he didn't belong.
Hes unironically one of the most athletic players in the league for his size lmao I was like “wtf?” at that part too when he said he’s not very athletic. Dude dunks with power like Lebron, can posterize giants at 6’5 and 190lbs and gets above the rim on chasedown blocks. There’s not many his size except the elite that do that regularly. The Bald Mamba is a freak.

man i love a good underdog story. I've been seeing caruso show up in a lot of random nba vids on my feed and ALWAYS skipped them because I thought it was another Scalabrine meme thing going on. Now I see "caruso" in the title and I instantly click. You can tell this dude takes nothing for granted and puts his whole heart into it. I don't really watch the NBA though tbh, but I love watching content creators make videos about the NBA for some reason. The character progression I see from these videos is like watching a good show with good character development.

Watching him since his Aggie days. Alex has worked hard on his game and now he's the player every team wishes they had.
Some people might think this is ridiculous but Alex Caruso is the reason I started watching the NBA. I live in England so wasn't really brought up on basketball but after seeing the whole AC story on KZhead and all the memes etc I now follow everything he does and am a supporter of the Bulls.
When KZhead gets more emojis other than thumbs up and thumbs down, he will get a thumbs up, a smile, and a heart all in one go. I haven't watched a Bulls game in many years, but I have started because of AC. You guys have a special team to be proud of this year.
