New season BUZZER fishing - Washing line - The bung - Dry fly all in one short session ..

Buzzers - Washing line - The bung - Dries all in one session . When those Trout turn their attention to the new season BUZZER hatches sport can be frantic and throw up a few surprises. This late February session at Chigboro fisheries certainly didn't go the way I expected !

    @marctindall3198@marctindall31982 ай бұрын
    • Its usually the other way round but it does depend on your lake . Normally the early season buzzers are big and black , grey boys , crisp packets .. as the season progresses then you see the olives ..

  • Hi Tim. A couple of questions on your dry fly set up. Do you use any floatant for any length of the fluorocarbon? Here I was thinking of drag when setting the hook. Do you use floatant on the dry fly? Other than that, thanks for the video, very informative. :)

    @outdammspot@outdammspot2 ай бұрын
    • No I use flurocarbon so the leader sinks . I also degrease to encourage it to sink . One of the biggest causes of refusals on dries is the fish seeing the leader .. it must sink ! As for the flies , with the CDC emerger like this one in the vid adding flotant can mess with the natural buoyancy of the fly so I just keep it dry . With all other flies a very very small application of gink on the back of the fly before the session and then after each fish is caught will keep those flies up . Remember less is more when it comes to applying flotant to a fly !

  • Hi Tim im fairly new, but what do you do when your droppers get to short ?

    @garymills1520@garymills15202 ай бұрын
    • Re tie . You can just cut your leader at the dropper knot and re tie the break using a 3 turn water knot leaving a long tail ... no need to re do the whole leader this way ... Oh and don't change flies so often ! lol ... its not usually the fly that needs changing but the depth or speed you are fishing at that needs addressing . Thanks for watching .

  • Nice fishing how do you get kinks out of line for it to go straight thanks

    @DavidWoods-uu1xo@DavidWoods-uu1xo2 ай бұрын
    • Floating lines will always have a bit of memory and it depends how much use they have . The longer they sit on a spool not being used the worse the memory . If you have big gaps between trips take your floating line off the spool and hang it in big open loops on a coat hanger and store it somewhere cool . You can give the line a slight stretch but this can damage the line and cause the plastic to separate from the core . Line memory always looks much worse when being used at low water temps .

  • Nice casting ! How long is the dropper?

    @robertcornelius8056@robertcornelius8056Ай бұрын
    • no more than six inches . Quite often as little as 4 if I am casting into a heavy wind . Long droppers dont improve presentation and only cause tangles .
