  • you don't understand just how satisfying it is watching you bring back this car to life when it was probably destined for the scrapper. Also, you keep your tools clean, organized and put away after use. It's extremely infuriating watching some of these youtube channels where people work on cars, and their shop is a complete mess, tools all over the place. It's horrendous. I have to usually click off. Yours? satisfying. Would love to see a video on a shop cleanup, tools tour. Maybe recommendations for power tools etc. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to more content. Cheers!

  • If you want to re-dye the drivers seat M539 Restorations did it on his E46 a year or so ago and had some great tips and tricks. All for a budget build but I know far to many folks who have learned the cheap tires lesson the hard way. I always try and get a solid brand, even if it means saving up a lot more. Can't put a price on safety, especially when you're driving hard. Looking forward to seeing the other cheap E46 on the channel

  • I just purchased a 2003 330 convertible with sport package. Ive watched 40 utube videos and yours was truly among the very best. I chose a convert because my first car was a BRG MGB. I love to hear the true sound of the exhaust with any,.. and all sportscars Ive owned. And at 68 Ive owned an embarrassing number. Because auto enthusiasts may age in number but never lose their enthusiasm. Great video.

I would suggest using a steamer especially on the greasy stuff (door handle, cupholders...), it's really helpful and speeds up the whole process. • 255/35/18 is the correct size for this car and you need to do the rear bushings and wishbones and tracking afterwards and it will be all good. The evidence was on the tyres worn on the inside that there is to much camber and the top of the tyres is rubbing on the wheelarch. No need to grind or hammer anything 😉

  • Very curious how you will tackle that torque converter, mine is currently slipping so gotta find how to fix that.

    @russeGll764@russeGll764 Жыл бұрын
    • The torque converter has a internal lock-up clutch, used to reduce the transfer loss when not shifting. It fails when a seal inside the torque converter hardens or breaks apart, and starts to bypass fluid so that the clutch doesn't apply. The transmission controller detects the failure as it does many other shifting problems, by comparing the engine speed (via CANBUS), input shaft speed and the output shaft speed. The only fix is to replace the torque converter with a new or rebuilt one, which requires removing the transmission. The cost of the torque converter ($300-$500+) is minor compared to the labor. It's not possible to replace that seal yourself. It requires cutting the torque converter open on a lathe, replacing the seals that aren't all available on the open market (Sonnax does list some parts), welding it back together while being held in a precision rotating fixture, and balancing the assembly.

      @1djbecker@1djbecker Жыл бұрын

  • Yeah, you're supposed to unplug the battery when removing the seats. If you turn the car on and the seats aren't connected you'll get an airbag light. You need to get that light reset. Yup, anytime you are doing anything airbag related, make sure you disconnect the battery

    @ItsJoshN@ItsJoshN Жыл бұрын
    • Good question! So from my experience the Unibody behind those rockers is really stout. you dont want to go too far underneath the vehicle, but theres lots of unibody that is safe to jack up from. Just have to be clear of any plumbing or wires hidden behind the plastics. Ive jacked them up from in front of the front jack pads too, good trick to getting floor jacks in place in one go

      @DayOffDIY@DayOffDIY Жыл бұрын
    • Read any jack stand instructions from Harbor Freight, Hein Werner, to U.S.Jacks and it is clearly stated that the jack stands should only be used to support one axle at a time. Not to support the side, not to use one at a time, and not to support both axles with two jack stand pairs. Also the rated load is for both jack stands. I believe the issue is the jack stands could tip if supporting a side or both axles. Everyone does it but know it is not to be done per the manufacturer.
