  • Incredible how humane Frazier was. After the monster left in the 4th, he stopped punching at Jerry to see if he'd fall over and all but gave him a second to recover. Then, before the fight ended and Jerry was badly cut, Joe pointed at Jerry for Joe Louis to see, and walked away like he didn't want to punch him any more, knowing Jerry would never, ever quit.

    • @@BoxingFightsByGaryWilson & yet Quarry had a wide range of skills - he could fight inside & outside, & had a good variety of punches - just fell short against Ali & Frazier (twice each) like you said. World class Frazier & Quarry would have been very good in this era - maybe 20lbs heavier with the supplements available these days - I think Frazier would have chopped down Wilder with ease - Wilder with no balance or infighting skills, Frazier would only have had to worry about Wilder's right hand, unlike George Forman, who had power everywhere & was too much for Frazier. Frazier vs Usyk would have been a heck of a fight with a good contrast of styles..

    • @@BoxingFightsByGaryWilson Quarry was a decent contender who sparred without headgear because he really believed he was so special that he could take more punishment than other men. That same delusion followed him into his contests, where he didn't ever learn to move with punches or switch into defensive mode. I feel pity for him, but I cannot admire his intelligence nor his mental approach. A sad creature.

    • @@shakeAbooty88 Yeah, & Jerry tried to imitate Ali with the bouncing, but it got him into trouble - only Ali could fight like Ali. I read an article once - his brother-in-law, Robert Pearson, said Jerry & his brother Mike (175lbs contender) used to spar countless rounds together, & those sparring sessions were brutal - booze & drugs wouldn't have helped their physical condition either. The brother-in-law said he has grown to hate boxing - not surprising, after what happened to Jerry & Mike. But boxing is a sport you can't take lightly - like Roy Jones said : sparring should be kept to a minimum - & if you learn defense, you have a better chance of coming out of the sport relatively intact.

Quarry was in very good shape and confident. This fight shows the difference in world class to an elite level fighter. Frazier in 1974 was past his best of 1971; however, he did look good here and was far too good for a very good Jerry Quarry.

The Shepherd here is Jesus. John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. This is the fulfillment of the prophecy. Matthew 26:31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “’I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ This happened near 30 AD. Hosea 6:1-2 Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. In prophecies 1day is equal to 1000 years. Which means after two thousand years Jesus will return again. And on the third day which is the 3rd millennium, we will live in his sight. We all know we cannot see God's face and live on Earth. So it's the second coming of Jesus. Luke 21:11 ► There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Matthew 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. We are the witnesses of all these things. From the death of Jesus to 2030 there are 2000 years. Jesus is coming soon. Let's all repent and turn from our old ways and turn to the Lord. Praise the Lord. Peace and Love to you all Easter is pagan, the resurrection day of the Lord is correct and please stop taking the Lord's name in vain like saying omg or using it with a bad word or taking it in anyway that is in vain. Even the devil trembles in his name and we shouldn't use the powerful name like that. For the people who says Jesus is not God here's a verse. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. God bless you all. Please spread this message to the ends of the 🌍

    • Louis once said Ali would just be another bum of the month if they fought while Louis was in his prime. I don't think Ali ever forgot that comment. Wasn't part of hyping up some fight. It was just a rude comment. Louis was also wrong, if you ask me. I think Ali would've beaten him if they fought while both were in their prime, but I haven't seen much footage of Louis so I may be off. He just seems too slow to catch a young Ali and I think Ali's resume is more impressive.

      @bengoldberg6198@bengoldberg619811 ай бұрын
    • @@bengoldberg6198 Nah that comment was clearly a joke and response to Ali saying he could beat Joe. They were teasing each other. They certainly had a fallout later on though and Ali called Louis an "uncle Tom". It was back when Ali was at his most fanatical with the religious and separatist group. They later became friends again but perhaps that hadn't happened yet as of this fight. As for Ali beating Louis, perhaps that could happen. Ali was fast, smart and durable, but to think Louis would be too slow to catch Ali is somewhat false because Henry Cooper and Chuvalo were catching up to him, and they are not faster nor better than Joe. Ken Norton beat Ali and the guy basically stood still. Joe had all the skills and intelligence necessary to beat Ali. He is the greatest heavyweight of all time.

  • This is the prophecy about the second coming of Jesus Zechariah 13:7 “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the LORD Almighty. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

  • Joe Louis was inept in this fight. Allowed JQ to take waaaaay too much punishment. I love how angelo Dundee barks at Louis to "Move outta the way" and "work the other side of the ring." The legendary Don Dunfee screaming at Loius to stop the fight. How does a drug addict (heroine) like Joe Louis get a job as a ref in a fight where a fighter could die. He surely wasn't sanctioned, that would take work ethic and commitment.

    • That was my observation also. He tended to throw round shots when he stopped bouncing instead of sliding, keeping his hands up and converting them to straight shots. Quarry's defense was also very poor as he tended to stand in front of opponents with his hands down. He couldn't get away from that against top notch opponents.

    • Usually, it's the athlete that is last to notice. He struggles in ways, again and again, that used to be unthinkable. Believing, if he just trains harder, longer or changes diet, that "it" will come back; that he, once again, will be the best version of himself. Meanwhile, even those closest to him can see the inexorable erosion, but lack the nerve or heart to speak it. For they, too, are dreamers.
