Viewtiful Joe’s Demo Literally erased my memory card way back in the day. I’ve NEVER played the full release til this day.
That happened a lot with those demos back then. Especially the ones that came with game magazines.
Damn that sucks. That was a good damn game
That's a tragedy because it was a masterpiece
The PAL release of Soul Calibur 3 corrupted my PS2 memory card and I haven't touched the series since.
I wish EVERY game had a demo tbh. Especially with the prices of games now. Currently want to play Rise of the Ronin but can't justify £70 blind. EDIT: I know every game has reviews to watch but they are subjective and generally just one individuals opinion.
Also not done by professionals end up being spoilery.
I personally like to watch a no commentary walkthrough to get a feel of if I'll like a game or not if there's no demo. It's not a perfect method, obviously, but it works better for me than reviews. I'll pay attention to the combat and even mimic the buttons I'd use to have a rough idea of the feel. Still wish every game had a demo, though!
If I knew Alien Dark Decent's upgrades would also cost resources to use I wouldn't have bought it
Marvel’s Avengers. Had the $100+ digital edition ordered. After about an hour, something just didn’t click and felt off. Then after PSN finally let me cancel and get my money back, the game released & the hidden MX & loot grinding was worse than everyone was sold.
To this day I'm still regretting buying Avengers. I wanted that game to be great... but it wasn't.
Truly expected Balan Wonderworld to be here, since everyone was excited for the game until the demo released. It was so bad they actually pulled the demo from the servers, but by then the damage was done.
Forspoken was the only one of these that I actually played the demo of, and yes, it made me decide against buying the full game. (for the others I wasn't even interested enough to try the demo).
Fallout 76 at launch was abysmal but now I think it's in a much better state
Destiny 2 demo made me move my pre-order money to a new game.
In hindsight I give you credit, but honestly the opening mission of Destiny 2 was absolutely awesome If only the rest of the game (and every expansion that followed) was as epic as that.
My Too Human box sits right next to Tabula Rasa box on a shelf. enjoyed both! haha
I liked too human true the control is a little wonky but I still remember in the last battle when the Valkyrie took the dude giving cover fire for her so she could take his dead buddy. That was burned into my memory even for playing it once.
Balan Wonderwold. At the very least i got the pre order canceled because of it.
It's funny because this is exactly what happened to me with Forspoken. I hadn't watched any reviews or anything on it, played the demo and was like "Is it just me or is this awful?" Then proceeded to find many in agreement online.
Lazer Tag home sets actually came out in the 80s. I may still have my set from 1986 laying around somewhere. I remember there was a baseball cap with a sensor on it that is rather humorous to look at now.
or the chest piece with velcro
The Avengers demo made me cancel my preorder and made me stop preordering games altogether
The content that was actually in too human was actually pretty decent and the story was intriguing. The main problem was there was just 4 or so really long levels for the whole game and admittedly the controls can be pretty divisive. I kinda wish they built on it more though
Still can't get used to these no ending videos. I miss the outros, especially from Jules. Can't we even get a friendly, quick, "thanks for watching, see you next time!"?
I loved too human, it didn’t seem as basic when I was playing it, i loved the loot system and the combat and I liked the Norse style story, ever since I’ve only heard people bash it and I don’t understand why everyone hates it now
On the flip side, the demo for Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars made me buy the game and it is my personal favourite 😊
Duke Nukem Forever. Oh, wait… I forgot to cancel the preorder after I played the demo 😅 And I should have canceled the preorder for Fallout 76. I thought it would be better on release somehow, but I still can‘t stand this game.
Update the gaming lists playlist
2:32 No, Jules! Too Human and Infamous are two separate IPs! (sorry, I couldn’t miss the joke 😅)
I follow gaming news regularly, both from major outlets and smaller ones. Physical magazines, YT channels, Reddit's, etc. I have never heard of Ghost Recon Frontline.. Lol that's a testament to how unnecessary and unwanted a multiplayer-only Ghost Recon game is and how quickly it clearly failed and disappeared Lol that Battle Tag stage demo was CRINGE, the very definition of the term. The stiff, unmoving and quiet audience says it all, they all felt embarrassed for the participants
Too human had the potential to be a generational game. Too bad that it just ran into endless trouble.
Kinda shocked Balan Wonderland ain't on here
Dragons dogma 2 was my latest 😢 i was so excited for it and something just didnt click with me and now it's sat gathering dust after 3hrs total gameplay
I wanted to like Forspoken so bad. I was sold on it when i first saw how the traversal looked and you were jetting at superspeed across terrain and parkouring as nimble as a feline...but everything else felt...yeah...
Every time I see Capcom going for another RE multiplayer they always look bad. Although on paper Resistance seemed like a good idea it was not done well and riddled with bugs, cheaters, and overpowered players being placed with newcomers basically funneling them out from wanting to keep playing. They've been sitting on one of the best multiplayers for RE that came out ahead of it's time and despite fan servers being online to play and a constant outcry of wanting a legit remaster or even sequel they still have done nothing with RE Outbreak. At this point I feel if they did they'd ruin what should be a slam dunk anyway.
I absolutely love Dragon Age Origins but the Dragon Age 2 demo made me want to completely avoid the sequel.
EA's Star Wars Battlefront beta made me want to replay the old Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the PS2. What's the point of a multi player game without galactic conquest.
Ha! I just bought Forespoken for Xbox PC just a few days ago. And I look forward to playing it. 😏
Hey don't knock the EverQuest days. The down time actually caused it to create a pretty close community. Honestly I miss that game and still consider it one of the best mmos made.
Honestly, I've been saying this for years, but Resident Evil really should just remake outbreak if they want to hop into multiplayer. It was awesome the way it was but just crummy technology.
I actually think Resistance, Outbreak and Raccoon city are some of their best multiplayer games compare that to the horrible rail shooters and super crawling shooter games I stand by them as a fun time. The tech wasnt their for one and there wasnt enough support for the other
Unfortunately the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws demo videos remind me a lot of Forspoken. You have a protagonist that is constantly spewing badly-written one liners, to the point where it detracts and distracts from the gameplay, and makes everything else just seem...meh.
I don't usually bother with demos but I thought I'd give the Forspoken one a go and I'm so glad I did so I didn't waste £70. It is a shame though because I was pretty excited about the game before hand
had high hopes for Forspoken as I am a big fan of the isekai genre
Im the rare few that actually enjoyed Dead space 2 multiplayer and actually liked Resident evil resistance multiplayer alot. There was a small but hardcore fanbase for the mode. Not sure how its faring now.
I liked the banter in Forespoken. I just didn't like the empty open world.
6:32 well I wonder why
You know, the way you just abruptly end the video is incredibly jarring.
I'll tell ya what you need to avoid... THE NOID! He's been ruining the freshness of pizzas all over the world since the 1980. Order from dominos and avoid the noid!...or don't.
I would play 76 for sure if i didnt have to pay to not have people running around in my game
Balan Wonderworld came out with so many issues that Square had to say that they'd fix whatever they could but it'd just be graphical touchups. They couldn't do anything about the design flaws and they obviously didn't want to bother. At least the cutscenes looked good.
Did AC steal the "technological Gods" from Too Human lol?
Love that even after all these years I'm still the only person that actually enjoyed Too Human.
Fallout 76 has millions of players 5 years later
There are some games that are so infamously bad, that there comes a time when bringing them up adds nothing to the discussion. "Too Human" is the ultimate example. Its every flaw and blemish and suppurating gash have been poked and prodded so many times that even in a brand new video, everyone can almost literally recite the script along with the narrator because there is absolutely NOTHING being added or revealed; everyone already knows everything wrong with it. Children of the future will be born with the knowledge of everything terrible about "Too Human" indeliblely scored into each and every one of their chromosomes, without ever having physically heard those two words spoken aloud and together. When I see the game on a list now, I know that it's safe to either zone out for several minutes or not even bother with the video for the same reason I don't rechew a piece of Juicy Fruit to get more flavor.
So I'm most defiantly defending BF2042, but when was the last time a Battlefield game came out and not been a disaster at launch?
What about Balan Wonderworld??
I still have my copy of Too Human. Such a good game and interesting story.
But I love Too Human. Also, Battle Tag releasing in stores across Texas is not the least bit surprising if you're American, that is. After all, Texas is the US capital of the Second Amendment. And Jules, one thing you should never do is patronize Konami. When they screw up (and it's not surprising when they do, as it happens often), you absolutely nail it into them. You crush every fiber of the Konami execs beings, show them why pissing off a fanbase is a terrible idea. Konami exists to get everyone to absolutely hate them, and they're spiteful. You put their company name on a resume, they literally go out of their way to ruin the former employee's life.
for me it was FF7 Rebirth, the demo made me not to pick the game, the combat is a turn off 🤕
I played the balan wonder wonderworld demo and that was awful
I thought for sure Skull and Bones was gonna be number 1.
Balan Wonderworld should be on here
After playing about tgirty minutes of Outcast 2, I knew I woukd be interested.
I think you meant one step forward and two steps back.
Diablo IV open beta ensured I wasn't going to buy the game.
WHO wanted a Fallout multiplayer game??? NOBODY wanted that.
What abouts PS1's Bubzy 3d?
In recent memory, Square hit quite the triple note for me with Forspoken, Valkyrie Elysium, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (the latter in particular after Remake's demo had left me cautious, and the full game leaving me feeling correct about my prior caution) for separate, yet similar reasons.
I never ever had a problem with too human infact i played the hell out of it lol.
I was kinda hyped for Soulstice until I played the demo which showcased PS2 era graphics, uninspired (and at times frustrating) combat mechanics, and way to many invisible walls for a linear level. The worst part of the demo was the boss at the end which made you constantly chase after it while it attacks from a distance and sends mobs after you.
Battle Tag releasing in Texas is understandable, you gotta teach the kids how to have in-home gun fights without using live ammo somehow.
Balan wonderworld?
Jules and his Bules
Im actually playing Forespoken right now. Im enjoying it so far but it is definitely not in my top 5. Mid tier in truth.
Blatant Blunderworld
Gamefly is still out there to rent games.
Sandland demo
Yes!! First thing I thought about
Don't forget about cyberpunk 2077 demo version
forspoken got way too much hate. it's not the best game but damnit it ain't suicide squad and some of these other's.
"For some reason... Texas!" - for all those soft parents that haven't got their kids real guns yet.
Forspoken was great tbf
Hard disagree on Resistance and Forspoken. I liked those.
So common misconception about Fallout 76, but in fairness that's because of Bethesda's dumb marketing, 76 DID have NPCs, they were just robot models and not human looking NPCs. The more accurate statement is that it had no "Story NPCs", that was more or less meant to be made up by players. But there were still quest givers and shops like any other game, they just weren't human types.
I know I'm in the minority but I loved too human
Sorry Sean, can’t be respectful to bigots. The tolerance fallacy and all that
Nier Automata demo almost totally turned me off the game. If it hadn’t been for all the good word of mouth it got, I would’ve avoided it.
*Thanks for 0 like and 0 subscriber* 😦
😍😍😍
Dragons dogma 2 was my latest 😢 i was so excited for it and something just didnt click with me and now it's sat gathering dust after 3hrs total gameplay
