  • let's take something into consideration, while the Hacksmith made a working saber too, it's considered a proto saber (in Star Wars cannon). Hacksmith's is connected to a backpack, that has a large propane tank on the back giving it more power and time to run. so, the fact this guy made one fully handheld, not connected to anything is awesome, so Alex, don't get your draw backs get you down!

  • Its cool none the less. And really awesome to see how others put their spin on design to make things possible. But in reality If you compare Hacksmith's lightsaber to this Alex's. Hacksmith's would still be considered the first retractable lightsaber as it was retractable. However Alex's lightsaber would be a different world record. It would be the first portable handheld retractable lightsaber. The fact that is portable should be emphasized as it would be more grand and distinguished that it is handheld and step closer to what you see in the movies. Hacksmith's version would be considered more of a luggable due to the fuel pack he had to wear on his back. Still they are both awesome and a job well done. Can not wait to see what others come up with :)

    @RazorHobbiesRC@RazorHobbiesRC2 жыл бұрын
    • Well if you went into semantics, Hacksmith didn’t make a lightsaber, they made a protosaber (which is also canon to Star Wars (not sure if legends or not though)) since it’s attached to their waist. Lightsabers are specifically stand-alone with no need for exterior fuel, whereas a protosaber has some form of exterior fuel typically attached at the waist. That’s why this is being called the first true lightsaber. Again, purely semantics though, doesn’t really matter
