Pulled Over for Expired Tags. Turns into a Drug Bust.
On December 7, 2021, officers initiated a vehicle stop for expired license plates, but as they spoke with the driver and his passenger, they came to suspect that there may be something more there. This video shows the search and what turned up.

What a crock of shyte. So a rat told the cop the driver's supposed to have an ounce on him. First dog doesn't hit on anything so they bring "Old Reliable," the dog that hits every single time, dirty or not, to create the pretext to violate their 4th amendment rights and search.

Absolutely I would fight that in court way longer than a reasonable traffic stop it doesn’t take that long to write a ticket. This is getting thrown out

On Jesus ! 😂 they were going to find any reason to check the car. Whether the dog alerted or not, they’d lie
They clearly didn’t even show the second dog apparently “alerting “
6:11 says it all. The cop literally said the dog didnt alert and that the guy is supposed to have an ounce on him. Someone snitched but even if someone snitches and the dog doesnt alert doesnt give them probable cause to search. The cop even said the dog didnt alert, and someone snitching isnt enough to justify a search. They need proof. This whole thing is sketchy by the cops
One dog did and one dog didn't - not sure why they had 2 dogs though?
i swear ts sketchy
@@jiml5837 they called to get the second dog. I feel like that's bullshit. I forget what it's called, but they're only allowed to detain you for a certain amount of time at a traffic stop. Once the first dog didn't hit, it seems kind of fucked up they called to wait for another dog.
Hey professor one of the two dogs alerted. That gave him probably cause to search which then gave them probably cause to arrest. Even so, a crime already happened prior, and that was driving with expired tags. In which he already has probably cause that a crime has/is/about to happen. And if you want to go deeper there is reasonable suspicion (which is present) but I'm not going to get into it since the video just ended and im gonna look at other stuff.
It indeed does give them the right to search if they suspect the ounce is of heroin, meth or cocaine, lsd, pcp and synthetics. Even if it’s pot you must dtates don’t like the carrying of it over 14-20 grams. An ounce is 28 grams.
As a law enforcement officer myself They should have just cited him for the tags and sent him on his way.. having 2 different dogs sniff is pretty crazy a good lawyer will get those charges dropped
Noted
Seriously. You can't just keep bringing dogs until they alert. Not to mention, if you are any good at training dogs, you can train them to whenever you want
From watching a 1000 of these videos its always my impresion that whatever dog they bring out after they scratch its ass they just use it as a excuse to search. Im surprised they haven't banned them from using dogs yet
Yeah i thought the same thing. They literally asked if they could search the car giving him a choice, he then told them no and they brought 2 dogs to sniff the vehicle anyway without permission and scratch up the vehicle with their nails. Unless they had proof that he had something in his car, this was very unlawful. Shame on all these officers.
No probable cause needed in most states to bring in one or two dogs. I’ve seen three dogs one time at a traffic stop.
I've always followed the phrase: "Don't do more than two illegal things at once." This was definitely a setup though, they already knew there was stuff inside the car.

Now i had my glove compartment locked (just bought the car off an old lady and she had a dickload of keys for it so i didn’t bother wit it at the time) the cops spent 5 to 10mins going thru each and every key to open it cause they really thought there was a pound or some in there . He wasn't "pulled over for expired tags", the cop just admitted that he knew the guy "had an ounce on him". This was a drug bust from the start, the tags just gave them a "reason". One dog "didn't alert to anything" so they bring another one. That one is probably trained to sniff out oxygen. Judging by the 6 cars that showed up for this, they clearly have the resources to find whatever they want.
the cop admitted that the knew the guy "had an ounce on him" but the cop said a little after "man, he is giving off all the indicators" so the pull over was for the tags but the cop knew he had drugs because how the man was acting
So right
Yes. Serious, non-judgmental question: _how do you feel about this?_ Me personally, the dog didn't react. BUT, there was also obviously drugs there. So now what? It feels somehow unfair, almost like a sort of 'double-jeopardy' in that the drug-dog detected nothing, _yet the cops can just try again?_ But on the other hand, the cops knew full-well that there were drugs, and they made it happen. My theory, based on *zero evidence* is that they knew the guy had drugs because of a tip, or a confidential-informant, yet the CI or tip is shady or weak, so the cops instead wanted to build the case in a different way... and so they landed on "expired-tags... drug-dog.... BINGO!" And probably that'll be effective enough for a conviction.... and the cops won't have to divulge how they *actually* knew, because they can just credit the second drug-dog, so a dirty-tip or CI remains out of the reports. Thoughts?
I dont fully agree with your theory, If the cops did this off only a tip, then you would make good a point.

Then they go through the car and find nothing, then find the drugs on her. I don’t like these type of arrests. Play the game right.
6:15 cop says ik hex supposed to have an ounce on him.
Piss off, they were riding dirty with no tags, no insurance, no registration, cant prove the car is theirs or that they are allowed to use it. They begged for it.. they look like druggies, act like druggies, and got busted like druggies.. dont cry about it.. they asked for it. If you dont like it, dont follow in their steps.. its easy
Exactly. They broke so many laws here to get what they wanted.
It is all bullshit. Using the dog is bullshit. It's legal in the court. 100% circumventing his rights. Dictator type shit.
They for sure had CI, cop said I know this dude’s supposed to have an ounce on him.
Everything about this has the indicators of a setup. How can the cop know how much he is supposed to have on him? The fact that the first dog didn't alert and tghey (the cops) didn't trust is and so they brought in a second dog. The way the cops were talking and acting from the very start seemed rather strange, like they were putting on an act and not the usual act that they put on. They were definitely tipped off to him having that. Also that dude is a real man for telling the truth and taking the charge for his girl.
Yes the first clue was when the cop said he's supposed to have at least an ounce on him after I heard that I knew it was already a setup
Plus the amount of cops. First their were 2, then all of a sudden there were 4. They wouldn't have that many for a routine stop
Maybe the cops knew because it could have been a sting. Maybe the guy bought drugs from an undercover cop and that's how the cops knew how much he had on him.
@@zackjoneskeywest7542 That's not a setup. They obviously had someone snitch on them for having the drugs. Someone it appears they trusted.
i love the experts on comments section.
I can’t help but think, Griffin police department, it sounds like a family run police department!😂
I love how the cops be your best buddy, when all the time hell bent on burying you.
Being your "best buddy" is just one tool in a LEOs toolbox to find and arrest bad guys. We pay them to do that. BTW, this guy buried himself.
@@user-bo1rj2xu2s google 40% cops. ACAB
I love how you can't speak proper English. "The cops be your best buddy" is not a sentence. Verbs have tenses. I suggest you read a book.
@@user-bo1rj2xu2s burried himself than how does the cop klnow hes supposted to have an ounce yet first dog didnt alert so begs the quetions was this a set up
lol
If you riding dirty WHYYYYYYYYY do you have expired tags😭
Stupidity am guessing.
Griffin. Griffin,GA is why. All you need to know. I'm from McDonough the next town over.
felons always want to take big risks ... years ago I was in Chicago, and a dude was smoking on the train (a big no-no) ... I told him to put it out, and he tried to assault me. I knew every one of the conductors, many of whom were prior LEO. When I told the one what happened, the federal police were waiting at the next stop. Dude that walked out to the police was his friend, trying to act like it was him. I pointed out who it was on the train, and they removed him ... I told them I don't want to make it a long night, so we left him and continued on. Then his girlfriend came screaming about where he was .. the conductor smiled, said "turns out he had a felony warrant out for his arrest, so he will be sleeping soundly tonight in the jail."
Brains 🧠 lack of brain cells.
Zero brain cells lol
God love and protect our brilliant service dogs. We lost one in Toronto this year, sacrificing for law enforcement. Makes we weep.
So many people mad because clearly the cops had intel on this dude, and used two dogs…if that happened to me they could bring 10 dogs and search my vehicle high and low and wouldn’t find a thing. Clearly their intel was right.
In my opinion, you guys exceeded the average/normal amount of time you held them back and then the dog failed to indicate. Any lawyer can argue they were held past the adequate time. I;m not saying what they had was ok, but keep in mind everyone has rights, even dealers and criminals. And pushing your abilities/power into trampling or possibly trampling rights is not correct/ethical/right.
When that cop heard that they were en route, he said he still had to finish up writing the tickets. Obviously he took his time on that one, but I don’t think that bringing in a second dog is going to nullify the search. Drugs should be legal anyway though, so I hope they beat it.
The 2nd dog is the issue for me. A good lawyer would get this dismissed even with the officer prolonging the ticket writing as his excuse to lag.
@@mhsucio6830 it was illegal due to stalling
Waste of resources. Any good lawyer can beat this. Bringing the 2nd dog was the best part of this investigation
I was thinking the same thing. If the first dog didn't "hit" on anything, why was it necessary for a second?
How she made the dog alert. When the dog didn't, she tried to make him then once she realized man I'm on body cam I gotta be honest...so they proceed to call in another dog? Jesus christ this is probably the worst I've seen when it comes to dog handling! If I were this guy, I'd be seeking a lawyer ASAP.
Also, what reason did they have for bringing in the dog???? Don’t they need some type of probable cause?
@@Danno_87 Umm 🤔I’m connected to many police officers and I know that your statement is incorrect. To keep them on a stop and bring a dog that have to be able to articulate “ reasonable suspicion “. There are drug charges out there that have been dropped due to dirty police work just like this goofy
Exactly. I laugh at the things that some of these people have to say. It’s pretty obvious that they know nothing about the law. What an officer is aloud to do and what they’re not able to do. What I just watched was a shady setup and I agree with finding that lawyer immediately. As I said in another comment there have been cases where drug charges were dropped due to illegal stops and so on
@@raizinboyz yeah I agree with you. The officer is going by a tip that another felon gave him in order to avoid a probation violation. I'm pretty sure these charges will be dropped.
@@Materialgirl_3 cool story bro.
Bringing the second dog was cold asf 😂

The cop who cleans his nails on the passenger side of that car should be ashamed like come on. Wtf is wrong with this world
The whole damn police department showed up lmao
Almost like a pretty large waste of resources to me
Seems like they were stalling to give the off dutys time to get there for some sweet overtime

"lift up real quick". she was more than willing : )
"Do me a favor and lift up real quick?" hahaha
6:08 Someone definitely snitched on him.
Either that or he got it from a UC or CI Either way that's petty as hell That's a dumb police department They need that police woman who was sleeping with everybody to take their minds off this bs

That’s a snitch for sure. No way they would say “he’s supposed to have whatever amount.” They wouldn’t know that by just pulling him over. Sorry no way. They were absolutely tipped off. Probably someone who wants that dude gone for something he did or they did like owe him money or maybe someone got arrested and told them where they could brim
I found very suspicious the way he looked to the officer and asked about having narcotics in the car. He didn't express any movement to say theres no weapon, but when asked for narcotics his face changed. To see how he was tested, first the officer ask commom questions, like where are you going, about relationship trying to understand his normal body language for commom questions and after that he asks what he needs to know searching for changes in the body language.
Thanks Colombo. I didn’t assume the officers were psychic. If they knew the exact amount of drugs he had, obviously they had been tipped off.
A good samaritan. Need a few million more.
Yep dealer wanted his girl set him up so he is out of the picture. Yea dude borrow my car and run the Oz across to a buddy and I’ll hook you up. Soon as the guy leaves. Rings officer Brady bunch. Yea black suv bad tags headed to this side of town exactly 1 OZ of dope in the car. Driver red jacket.
never expected the cop to inform the person he has a right to refuse searches.
Until the dog hits on absolutely nothing. 😂
I’m glad they got caught, clearly not people you want in your neighborhood, but when that first dog didn’t alert and then you hear them bring in “Argo” the hyperactive pooch, I would have a field day with this if I were his lawyer
You can see why he has trouble putting a ring on it. 😂😂
