Is it a restoration? Probably not, Just a simple clean up.
The powder I poured into the water for the rust removal was citric acid mono-hydrate that I bought from my local pharmacist. It worked really well left overnight. The parts were rinsed in water to remove any traces of the citric acid.
I kept the original leather strap and just used some sandpaper and wax to tidy it up.

Well done! Not seen one of those for years. Still a handy tool it's still produced in USA. Great video bro thanks Anthony Kent
Thanks for the comment Anthony and thanks for watching, ED
Nice clean up and a beautiful restoration.
Beautiful! I love those tools. I have a few different nail pullers. And I still use them.
I don't find it useful for every de-nailing job, but at least it is there when i need it. THanks for watching, ED
Good job looks good
Great restoration! I like the works. Can't wait to watch your other videos. I have like, subscribed and share your video. Cheers.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub, New video coming this week.
@@EdMakesStuff I shall check on your coming new upload.
I’m 63, we had one of these as a kid. My brother and I were suppose to clean nails out of boards to use in building our house, Dad didn’t like to waste wood. Just sayin that if you don’t hold this right while using it you can really pinch your fingers. Speaking from experience. Nice work 👍🏻
It hasn't got my fingers yet but it will probably happen at some point Thanks for watching, ED

A nice little refurbishment of a old well made nail puller, worthy of my 5 ☆ rating
Thanks for the comment, Appreciate it, ED
Why don't I have one of these? 😫. Looks so much better than a pry bar.
It is better some times, but not all the time. It doesn't work for every situation but it is pretty handy when it does. Thanks for watching, ED
Great tool and great restoration too :)

About 3 years ago I found a similar nail puller in a job lot of tools, I hadn't seen one before, took me over a week to work out what the hell it was lmao
It's worth mentioning that that most common use for this design of tool is for pulling nails out of floor boards whilst you are pulling up a floor. It's pretty unwieldy otherwise. IIRC you're supposed to stand on the short level to hold it in place.
Cool🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
👍👍👍
What the hell did you put in the water to remove the rust?
...да, ушь раритетных гвоздодер , ща такой днём с огнём не найдешь😉..!
please explain what you are doing as you go along
Looked better without the paint. But a nice useful tool.
It was blue before, It still had some little spots of the blue on it, that's why i used the bench grinder after the rust removal. Thanks for watching, ED
hi. what do you use to remove rust?
The liquid is just water and the powder is citric acid monohydrate, It is available from most pharmacists and online. Thanks for watching, ED
what is the liquid and powder that used in the video?

@@EdMakesStuff thank you
so that's how they work
I missed the part when you cleaned the inside of the puller.
Which inside, Inside the shaft or inside the jaws? Inside the shaft was cleaned with a round wire brush chucked up in a cordless drill, and the jaws were cleaned with a narrow wire brush and file. I just didn't film it as it was very tedious and it would have made for boring viewing. Thanks for watching, ED
Это радной цвет
Nice. but i use bar.
Yikes...Swell Tool. TY
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching, ED
А что за жидкость такая?
...похоже что/то типа КРОТа😉..!
Why the blue paint ?????
It was blue originally. It still had some of the blue paint on it that's why i used the wire wheel on the bench grinder. Thanks for watching, ED
Great restoration.... Useless tool...
I have used it a few times since I uploaded the video, It is handy sometimes but not for every job. Thanks for watching, ED
