A cat likes to take a nap on my roof, making it dirty or worse. When I look out of my window and the cat is there, I can now simply throw her of the roof by opening it remotely from the first floor. Very funny. I call it the "catapult" :-D

Serious question..! A cat loves to sit on my Z4 Coupe, I can’t figure out if it actually causes damage or not, I don’t think it does, but have you noticed any scratches on yours? Great content Joel, gonna get a Carly! Have you done a vid on the air box pipe in to the cabin for more induction noise? I removed the baffling in mine today and its awesome.
@@bluefluffmusic Unfortunately there are two scratches aside from muddy paw prints, fur and even pee once, which was nasty on the fabric. In Germany the law says, cats are allowed to wander around or under the car, but NOT ACCESS it in any way. The owner will be fully responsible for all damage or cleaning costs. Good luck!

I Love your channel Joel, But I got a Carly for my 03' 3.0i and it tells me i have about 18 codes or problems and I had a shop check it with more sophisticated professional OBD2 scanners and there's no problem. The only thing It really worked on was the European emergency flashers and turning off the running lights. Pretty much unusable for diagnosing real issues. It also says my engine is unsupported? Not your fault, but just wanted to let viewers be ware. Its not a slam dunk for everyone.

I'd been debating getting one of these for a while, the 20% off swung the decision for me.. After a bit of investigation, in addition to the Z4 I can do some configuration of my JCW (turning off the default start stop) - not particularly useful for the other cars but the man maths still work out. 👍

Bimmercode does exactly the same but it's a one time purchase and not monthly. So in the end, cheaper.

Hi Joel, I just bought a 2007 Z4 3.0I and love it so far. Wish the wind turbulence wasn't so bad though at highway speeds. I noticed the windblocker you have installed? How does it work and is it the factory version or from someplace else? I've been considering building my own instead of shelling hundreds of bucks for either a mesh or acrylic screen. Please let me know what you think. Thanks so much!
With 3 BMW's to care for, one being an e85, this was a smart decision. For example a low battery can trigger an air bag fault which is what my Z4 did, charge battery and reset thrown code. Now I can reset the code without a dealer($) visit. Thanks Joel for convincing me.

Hi Joel, Great video! Thank you. I have a quick query. I have a 2004 Z4 and I was wondering I could have mph displayed using Carly app? I have seen your other video with test mode on but that is for kmph and hence not very useful in UK.

Joel! I was inspired to purchase the Carly-kit after seeing your videos here. One of the features was the coding option to enable soft top opening and closing using the remote key. I'm running a MY2003/7, 3.0i and Carly presented me with the options to code both Comfort Open and Close of the soft top. Both were successfully coded, however, I only get the closing to work by pressing the close-button on the remote key three times and holding. What are the correct sequences? Do you know or where can I retrieve that information? Thanks!

Do I need the 20-pin scanner extension cable. Mine is older then 2001, I have a 2009 convertible hard top similar to your car in the video.
Nice one Joel! I once read somewhere (I forget where) that the power steering assist input for both sport/non sport modes can be recoded to make the steering lighter or heavier. Is this something the Carly app can access?
That’s cool! I haven’t seen it, so don’t think it’s something you can adjust with Carly - but would have to double check!
I have 03 E85. But it's a 2.5. Wonder if it will work?
Hello, can you tell me if you can activate the rear fog light? I have a us version and changed the front face plate of the lcm with one who has the fog light switch, fog light indicator in the dash works but i will need some coding on the lcm. Is Carly the one who can do?
Hey Friend. Good channel! Here from Portugal... May look like easy in the North.. But nothing comparable what the reality is in here! A very hard and painfull place to live the dream, but yet, possible too do it and achive it! And gracefully I have it in a regular basis.Here with the grateful ligth of Portugal! It would be a pleasure if I can send some data of my E85 2.5 193Hp , and bring together the commuity of the old continent together. What a toy and a beast this car is! One of the few ones that rest with a soul!

Joel, sounds right interesting, checked their site but no mention of 'coding' for adding factory fogs. I picked up a pr. plus the req'd new dash light switch, but have been putting off the install because forums I've searched say dealer coding is necessary. Any clue?
Thanks for watching, I think you can turn the fogs on but I’d have to double check. All coding possibilities can be viewed on the website

Hade you been able to activate “comfort indicators” on yours? That the indicator flashes 3 times ... I won’t get the option in Carly on my 2004 z4
I did this on my 2007, suprised didn't work for a 2004

Did that fault clear actually turn your airbag light off? I also find when I hold the lock button to put the roof up, that works, but doesn’t put the windows up, which isn’t particularly helpful! 😂
It did yes! But then came back on the next day 😂
I’m sure others have said already but normally when your airbag light is on it means the whole airbag system is disabled.

Hi, I have a Z4M, is it possible to code a 3 turn signal flash instead of1 when you gently press the indicator ?
I’m not certain, on the website I believe it shows you all possibilities for your car
Also what functions can you use without the subscription? If like to get one pay the sub set my car up and not renew the second year unless I have issues. Can I then not use the app or module is it effectively dead?
I know there are some functions available without the subscription, but can’t say exactly what. It will tell you on the website :)
Nothing good. Mostly just a 'test to see if it connects' type deal. I've got the old version with a sub that runs out in July, I've since moved on to INPA - I won't renew Carly

Anybody using Carly and having problems with the roof-function using the key? After coding it properly, it stops halfway closing and i have to finish closing with the knob in the car... 😩
That sounds like something to do with the battery in your key! My battery is quite low and so sometimes doesn’t always work!

Bart van Steenwijk I think I may have had the same issue, I coded my roof and now when I go to close the roof, it stops halfway even when using the button inside the car. I then have to switch the ignition off and on again for it to close the rest of the way up. Can you confirm if you have the same symptoms

It doesn’t work on the z4 e89 2014 . It will not put the roof up 🙁
On the key fobs
That’s strange! I always worth trying to code again, or could be something to do with the battery level in the key fob
@@michaelli9516 On the e89 the key will only raise the roof if your car has the comfort access module (an optional extra). Carly can't over come that. Most useful thing for me was to add open close roof while moving. I have an early e89 so mine is set to 19mph, 2014 should be able to work at 30mph (revised and stronger roof).

Aye, subscription models are shitty. Fortunately it looks like the Vgate iCar Pro + Bimmercode (£25) = £50 works. I'm getting a baby beamer soon so will give that a punt before paying monthly for Carly.
