  • The only problem with this design is that because you wrapped the chain around the wheel well, the gear ratio is much larger, so you gain less distance when you petal. You would spend alot more energy riding this bike than any other bike. Other than that, the design is really futuristic, it gives me a Tron vibe. Great work.

  • The other issue is bearing noise. The metal on metal sound of the wheel on the bearings. Also didn't see him shift gears or go off road. I imagine mud if ridden off-road is a issue too. Dirt don't do well going between smooth surfaces . But you designed a great show bike and conversation piece.

    @keithsteinle747@keithsteinle747 Жыл бұрын
    • I was thinking along those lines too. It's an off road bike but as soon as you go through any deep muddy puddles the bearings and drivetrain will be screwed.

The guy posts every project on KZhead with no schematics, instructions, discussion of the build, etc. Every thing he creates, beginning to end, is for the sole purpose of show. ...and of course, the ongoing conversation between engineers and pseudo engineers.

At first I was concerned about the lack of brakes, but then noticed the brake disc on the intermediate layshaft / gear set, because after some thought, it was exactly where I expected to see it. What I still can't work out is the attachment of the large rear sprocket wheel [ presumably another custom cut part ] to the rear wheel rim, and why that fat tyre doesn't rub against the chain, & push it off the sprocket. Any ideas, or working hypotheses greatly appreciated.

They do eventually burn up and have to b replaced , And without the spokes the rim will eventually warp alot easyier maybe it will b slightly more ridged because the rims being wider but this bike will not be able to handle any serious bumping and jumping around or the rims r gonna warp its now basicly ment to be a beach cruiser bike and lightly used on flat smooth surfaces or for short rides its ultimately a huge fail..

The analyzes of the presented material show that only a specific rim is suitable for making a spokeless wheel. Its construction must be quite resistant to lateral and internal loads, because this is where the bearings are mounted. The total rolling resistance is higher than in the standard version. It is important that effective performance, congratulations, greetings 😀.

    • @@XIskandarX I don't know mechanics well but I would ask myself. How durable and resistant to break it is - you have high forces in one point. If someone more sturdy uses it might just break on the first curb. Chains are very tense and power transmission - you would need to calculate how energy efficient it is. Also, there is a loud music as background so you can hear how ball bearings act. Next, for me it's just to many parts - consider something breaks. I think there lots of other things that people who know mechanical engineering would point out. ( @always eatinpotatos is mentioning more in the comments in other thread)

  • As this might be a prototype for something with more engineering thought put into it. Stress points may be an issue. Also gear ratios may have to be more controlled as well. I like the idea. It has merit. I think you need to do some more constructions to get a final build. There are a lot of people that have give you some things to think about, but overall, I would buy it.
