  • I don’t think a neutral fan can really appreciate just how crap we were under O’Neil, or that our squad was always a lot better than we were given credit for. Look up literally any stat from last season and we were probably bottom. So many points thrown away, so many baffling tactical decisions, so much piss poor football. The media has and always will look down on us, either with patronisingly OTT praise or sneering nonsense that’s blatantly untrue. If Gary O’Neil is so goddamn brilliant, then why don’t Palace appoint him? Can guarantee you no Palace fan wants him.

It’s very lazy in this instance though because of the excellent coaching that’s taken existing players like Joelinton, Almiron, Willock and Longstaff to new levels. They haven’t spent enough money for that to really be used as an insult, especially as a bloody United fan lol. However, it IS blood money, so again you are technically correct. But it’s not excellent relevant to the performance of the staff.

    • Exactly or Simon slamming Marco Silva for how he left Watford. If owners can sack managers when the manager has done the job and has done nothing wrong managers and players should be allowed to force moved the same applies in real world when you’re on probation for example, the company is allowed to let you go for no reason and give you limited time to stay and likewise you’re also allowed to cut and leave for another opportunity immediately if you like

  • AFCB fans were not fully behind O'Neil. We needed a progressive manager and now they can move forward in the transfer market. Foley has big ambition and this is now starting to be seen at AFCB. It's tough luck if fans of other clubs don't like it (jealousy?). O'Neil will still have gained the experience to get another good job, just not at AFCB.

Also, if the director of football picks the players to buy, will they buy players that work in the managers system, if not how can the manger get the blame if results suffer? 🤔

  • It was a strange decision, but fact is the owner runs the show, if he decided the new guy can take the club in a better direction, then so be it. O'Neil got paid up, has left with his stock prettyu high so really I dont get this whole agenda. If GON wasnt english, the media in England and the likes of TS wouldn't give a scooby do. And SJ is right, the owners are the ones who bank roll the club, they paid up the guys contract and basically said, thanks but we will be looking elsewhere. Footballs a ruthless buisness and some fans need to take their heads out of the deluded land where they want it all nice and happy where its all above board and the rest.

    • Trouble is with that is the man they really want won't be available then. I've watched Bournemouth since the 80's and the style of football seems to mean more to the fans than anything else. They like passing, attacking football and the likes of Redknapp, Machin, and Howe provided that. Parker and O Neil didn't so they were never as popular. This new guy's style of play is much more up their street.
