    • Sometimes it's just luck and timing. A coach doesn't always decide how good a player does on the ice. If McDavid had a bad coach, he wouldn't suddenly stop performing.

      @highmedic2351@highmedic23512 жыл бұрын
    • @@highmedic2351 Coach's tend to individually affect normal players. McDavid is different hes a generational talent, I don't think Ovi or Crosby would suddenly stop performing with bad coaches either but you can't really compare them to normal NHLers.

    • @@highmedic2351 A lot of very good star players would perform poorly under a bad coach. A system or instructions that don't jive with a player's natural talents and skill sets will bury a player's career very quickly. Just look at Skinner, Okposo, etc. in Buffalo - you change coach and jettison Eichel and they are back to their old selves instantly. The Skinner, Thompson and Tuch line is like the 5th highest scoring line 5-on-5 in the entire NHL, as a few days ago when I last calculated. Nobody would have predicted that a year ago - everyone thought these players were bad and washed-up. It was the coach and the toxic dressing room that ruined these players. and thankfully, they got a chance to set things right.

    • Ducharme literally did not play him. He had 4-5 minutes of ice time at some point in the entire game. Even Mcdavid would struggle to score if he only played 4-5 minutes total. So I am not sure if you even know about hockey at this point.@@highmedic2351

    @SecurityShark@SecurityShark2 жыл бұрын
  • What I particularly love about Caufield is his timing. Many times you will watch a player handling the puck in the offensive zone and you will think "shoot!" but he will not or will hesitate and his shot will be too late and that fraction of a second where there could've been a goal will be lost. Caufield on the other hand shoots before you can even think about that, so this means he also shoots faster than the other players on the ice can anticipate, which in turn results in goals like these. His wrist shot is extremely powerful and precise too, so you have a lot of ingredients here for what I believe is a solid future contender for the Maurice Richard trophy when he reaches his prime.

    @TheFlamingPike@TheFlamingPike2 жыл бұрын
    • All because of his crazy confidence levels. Carries himself in a meaningful way out there on the ice, even if he's not the biggest guy.

  • With his elite goal scoring ability, his passing ability impressive me. This guy isn't just a goal scorer, he show that he got great stickhandling with high hockey IQ. Suzuki and Caufield are perfect players to build around, they are ELITE.

    @kevenfortier1781@kevenfortier17812 жыл бұрын
    • No doubt he is a good player but “elite goal scoring ability”? Seems a bit premature for that assessment, 55 NHL games with 15 goals…FAR removed from elite at this point, maybe over time. With the size and speed of the players today and the body checks, at 5’7”, hopefully Caufield isn’t injury prone!

On the 1st goal, Mats Naslund intercepts a bad pass by Ray Bourque, he sends it over to Richer who one-times it softly in the back of the net beating Doug Keans. The 2nd goal is devastating for the Boston Bruins. Richer steals the puck from Bourque right after the face-off and goes in on a breakaway and beats Keans who almost catches the puck but It dribblles over the line.

The decisions/reads Cole and Nick make each game we’re being punished by Julien and Ducharme, they prefer a dump-and-chase, defensive style - which has been proven to never work outside of the playoffs. • I was sure the Sabres were going to draft him back in '19… Glad they didn’t. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if Edmonton took him instead of Broberg… With McDavid and Draisaitl… i mean…

  • This guy should be a cinch to score 30 goals for fun next year and if the Canadiens actually succeed in building a decent team around him, with a top notch power play quarterback, he could hit the 40 mark and maybe more. I've been watching this team since the early 80's and it's shocking how few players they've managed to draft and develop over the past 10 years, dead last in the NHL in drafted players making the NHL.

    • I've watched the Habs since like 2000, he's the best sniper I've seen at this age. Pacioretty was still in the AHL at that age.
