@@highmedic2351 A lot of very good star players would perform poorly under a bad coach. A system or instructions that don't jive with a player's natural talents and skill sets will bury a player's career very quickly. Just look at Skinner, Okposo, etc. in Buffalo - you change coach and jettison Eichel and they are back to their old selves instantly. The Skinner, Thompson and Tuch line is like the 5th highest scoring line 5-on-5 in the entire NHL, as a few days ago when I last calculated. What I particularly love about Caufield is his timing. Many times you will watch a player handling the puck in the offensive zone and you will think "shoot!" but he will not or will hesitate and his shot will be too late and that fraction of a second where there could've been a goal will be lost. Caufield on the other hand shoots before you can even think about that, so this means he also shoots faster than the other players on the ice can anticipate, which in turn results in goals like these. His wrist shot is extremely powerful and precise too, so you have a lot of ingredients here for what I believe is a solid future contender for the Maurice Richard trophy when he reaches his prime.

On the 1st goal, Mats Naslund intercepts a bad pass by Ray Bourque, he sends it over to Richer who one-times it softly in the back of the net beating Doug Keans. The 2nd goal is devastating for the Boston Bruins. Richer steals the puck from Bourque right after the face-off and goes in on a breakaway and beats Keans who almost catches the puck but It dribblles over the line.

@@andrewpersaud1910 He's not just saying better, he's saying he would have gone easily first overall instead of 15th. Maybe try to read properly before projecting stupidity on others?
"that is a big-time shot, by colefield"
🤣
Gotta watch the RDS french commentary on those goals, definetly worthy
I love how thrilled he looked after scoring that second goal, good for him 👍
this is a version of caufield we have never seen before. props to him!
He's been doing this his whole life!! Except the first few months of this season. He will continue to get better and better, really exciting player, so much fun to watch.
Did you see him in wisco?? Clearly not I've seen this kid do it all the way back to his days in the ushl and NTDP
He was saying at the NHL level but at junior level he was ridiculous with the american program.
@@user-xg6sx5ev9u I mean, he had 4 goals in 6 games against vegas in the playoffs last season sooo he was already pretty good lol
Love the crowd reacting. I was reacting the same way in my living room. what a crazy moment. The future is bright
Most great goal scorers will pick their shot and shoot. Cole Caufield is that kind of player. I see a bright future for this kid.
he can skate, he can dance, he can shoot *snipes another*
Best timing😅
Wow, two goals in just eight seconds! It’s just too bad that Ducharme wasn’t fired earlier
Only averaged 14:41 minutes of ice time under Ducharme
I have the Nov. 1987 record by Stephane Eicher - 2 goals in 7 secs.
50 goal scorer in the making.
Easily !
STRAIGHT FAXTZ GOAL CAUFIELD FTW
As long as in the future he doesn’t wait until February and March to start looking like an nhl player.
@@stentorofsparta3576 to be fair, who did under Ducharme?
Lol. 11 goals in 45 games. Should about translate to 50 goals over 82. Lol
I saw this live. Such a cool moment for this kid. Unbelievable. Keep scoring and I’ll keep playing the over :)
I went crazy when he pulled this off, yelled “ OH MY GOD “ ended up waking my nephew 🤣
Even with Habs having a miserable season, their Fans are great. Montreal has the most Stanley Cups for a reason
Because they're one of the oldest teams and its easier to win championships when there's fewer teams and everyone is less competitive overall?
@@incendiary6243 So it was for the other teams but Montréal won.
@@lavluvlov yes, and? It was easier to win when competing against fewer, worse opponents and them winning more are not contradictory
@@incendiary6243 so ,with your logic, Boston Toronto Chicago and the wings should have at least 10 more Stanley Cups if it was that easy
@@incendiary6243 How do you explain the other teams not winning that much then during the same time period? Checkmate.
So did ducharme just tell caufield not to score?
bro like what ducharme doing using him as a 4th liner lmao
@@Kronik6 And 6-7 minutes per game
He had them playing chess instead of playing with instinct. Players were told where they should be on the ice instead of playing instinctively. It's instincts that got them to the show afterall.......
@@frenchycanada so you’re saying ducharme is a bad hockey coach?
History.Hes gonna be special.
I was at that game , it was AMAZING ! Can’t wait for the new season to start .
Caulfield is a good kid thank God now is BACK
Shkoyich!!
Since the first game with St Louis behind the bench Caufield has been over a point per game. The decisions/reads Cole and Nick make each game we’re being punished by Julien and Ducharme, they prefer a dump-and-chase, defensive style - which has been proven to never work outside of the playoffs. The Habs finally have stars to build around, not named Carey Price.
Wow SN you got me surprised, never thought you’d show it since you never do, when it comes to Mtl!

He’s gonna be one of the greats in hockey by the time his career is over. That kid is fun to watch!
I take it back they actually showed it. NHL Acknowledge Caufield!!!!
He has that Matthews release which I love so very much. Maybe not quite as hard or accurate but it's getting close man. Those shots are nasty.
He scored more goals than Matthews in the USNTDP
Snap!
Wow, that was awesome. I pulled two of his Young Guns so far!!!
i like this kid already man
Wow they showed it
This kid's wrist shot is precise and moves at the speed of light!
Talent
That goes 36th on the list of Fastest 2 goals by the same player Impressive young kid !
Keep confident Cole
Goal Caufield!
A a Habs fan, he’s a great rookie
Excellent for Caufield! I was watching this game and was very disappointed that coach St Louis did not put Caufield out for the face off to try for a quick hat trick. It's not often that any player has a chance for 3 goals in a minute or less...
That's got to be some kind of record for a Montreal Canadiens player. I've never seen somebody score 2 goals back-to-back in the middle of a game like that in 8 secs.
Many teams will regrets passing on him. Yes he is small, not the strongest, fastest, best at Defense , small in playoffs but he is a pure goal scorer. There’s something with these players that not everybody wants all the time and it is to scores goals. His wrist shot and one timer is elite level. I hope the habs plays him with anderson or another big tough guy to protect him. When he has 3-4 seasons in the nhl he will be such a threat on the pp and basically anytime he has the puck and some space.
Quel talent!
Announcer needs to learn which side is the short side.
Great commentary to jinx that 2nd
Not a Habs fan just a Caufield fan. Love to see it.
shut up
What an absolute beast
What the hell ducharme did to him man ? DUDE TURN TO BE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE SINCE THEN !

Woww! Amazing!!✨
St. Louis deserves the Adams just for what he’s done for this kid. Night and day between The beginning of the year and since he came in.
Not upset that we lose at all. I’m so happy that cole is doing this good. No matter what he wins the Calder in my opinion
I’m a habs fan and Seider deserves it 100%. He’s just unbelievable.

Pure skills, a guy barely 5'7 160 lbs can shoot the puck as good as 6'3 225 lbs Matthews.
Almost as good as Laine's
Sure 😐
I'm not sure I'd take it that far.
How many goals he got this year lol
@@jerrymarski5922 check Caufield’s stats with the US development team and compare to Matthews. Guess who has the better stats?
Im loving that all of a sudden there are NHL scouts and anaylsts in the comments LMAO
Marty St. Louis told Caufield to stop worrying about making mistakes and just go have fun. That looks like fun to me.
Few more amazing plays like that and they might catch Arizona
Goal Caufield.
Now that's a Hat-Pick.
Kids good. When you’re good you’re lucky. When you’re lucky you have confidence, and when you have confidence you go streaking.

Lol the commentary. ''He can skate, he can dance and he can shoot'' Just as he skate, dance and shoot for a second goal.
Where’s all the Caufield haters at? Lots of you a few months ago….calling this kid a “bust”. Lol
man, i wish he was on the sabres... we need him
I was sure the Sabres were going to draft him back in '19… Glad they didn’t. I can’t even imagine what it would be like if Edmonton took him instead of Broberg… With McDavid and Draisaitl… i mean…
This guy should be a cinch to score 30 goals for fun next year and if the Canadiens actually succeed in building a decent team around him, with a top notch power play quarterback, he could hit the 40 mark and maybe more. I've been watching this team since the early 80's and it's shocking how few players they've managed to draft and develop over the past 10 years, dead last in the NHL in drafted players making the NHL.
I've watched the Habs since like 2000, he's the best sniper I've seen at this age. Pacioretty was still in the AHL at that age.
Not a hab fan but that was sweet this guy is gonna be bad a$$
That's a hat pick!
He's creeping his way back into the Calder conversation. And if it weren't for Ducharme, he'd probably be running away with it
Same spot too
can score from everywhere. elite shot. pooooooooooooooor 15 teams pass on him
And that was it.....

Rip to my bet of him winning the Calder
Unfortuneatly playing under DD ruined his confidence and was thinking too much rather than reacting naturally. Then MSL came in and told him to do what he does best....this is the result.
Cau Field of Coyotes 🎉
We can easily say that the commentator is not a fan of the Montreal Canadiens when they scores lol
i know everyone is saying it, but Ducharme robbed him of the calder run
