    • It’s sad because you’re right and so are they. Fast food/packaged food industry has made so much sugar the norm that everyone’s baselines of sweetness is messed up. Fruit should be what we consider a sweet treat. But because we fill ourself up with sugar from our first meal to our last, we crave it more. It’s a dirty game

    • I for one can't stand milk anywhere close and I mean ANYWHERE CLOSE to room temperature so I before eating for anything with milk e.g. Graham crackers, Oreos, iced oatmeal cookies, etc. I pour my milk in whatever and add an ice cube or two depending on the size stir the milk for a bit until it's ice cold and then I add the cereal or w/e. The ice cubes stay in there and periodically I stir it again to make it just as cold as before. Who asked no one but I was just chewing the fat...

  • I grew up in the 70s and these cereals, especially Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms and Apple Jacks were way better back then because they had large, flavored sugar crystals and the cereal itself was larger!

    • Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my second fav cereal but it’s been my fav for a while until I tried Cinnabon cereal. Cinnabon cereal is the best cereal I ever had. I also like Cap’n Crunch and it also tastes good dry which is a plus

  • So yes kids we have toast. Buttered toast is just called toast. But if u like cinnamon t9ast crunch, and toast, yall should try cinnamon toast. Just take a teaspoon of cinnamon and put it in 2 cups of sugar, mix it up in a covered container u can store. Make some toast with butter and dip into the mix. Its fire. If yall have never tried it, i highly recommend.

    • Artificial ingredients aren't created by magic. They are just combinations of natural materials. Plutonium is more 'natural' than xanthum gum for example, but one is a lot safer than the other.

    • Yes, Apple Jacks and Frosted flakes were a favorite of ours for a little while along with Sugar Corn Pops, and Sugar crisp cereals, those lasted a small amount of time at our home, then we went back to Cherrios, Cornflakes, Life Cereal, Raisin Bran and oatmeal the way mom prepared it for us.

I feel like we’re exposed to more food preservatives everyday, and it’s hard to buy family-safe foods since companies use lobbyists to work with the FDA to tout some chemicals as safe. There’s no proper independent research anymore it seems.

  • I grew up on a farm and had three home-cooked meals a day, or two during school, and the only cereal we ever had was Shredded Wheat (the big biscuits!) or Grape Nuts. I still can't stand all these sugary cereals, just put me to sleep within minutes and hungry again not long after. BUT... I also love Cinnamon Toast Crunch on occassion! LOL

Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Bunches of Oats, and Honey Nut Cheerio would be cereal I could eat every day for the rest of my life, and now that I've grown up, Cracklin' Oat Bran is a nice bit to change things up once and a while.

  • I loved Fruit Loops as a kid. Hadn’t had them in over 30 years, but a hotel we were staying in had them in their breakfast buffet. I ate four bowls, was SO happy. And I was hungry again two hours later, because of course, there is virtually nothing good in them. 😂
