Which is the BEST budget wireless microphone of 2024? The contenders: Hohem Mic-01, Ulanzi U-Mic AM-18, Saramonic Blink 500 B2+, and Hollyland Lark M2. These dual channel wireless mics are UNDER $180. Let's see how they compare to each other in terms of features and sound quality, and how they sound compared to more expensive mic systems.
📌 CORRECTIONS:
- Hollyland Lark M2 does NOT have Safety Track recording
- Ulanzi U-Mic AM18 DOES have noise reduction, but it is supposedly improved via a firmware update that can only be done via Windows computers. I don't have a Windows computer, so was not able to do the firmware update and test that feature.

  • I've been checking reviews of budget lavs for 18 months and this is the FIRST which has reviewed several at once and compared audio with DJI/Rode. Brilliant. Just what is needed! I now have a Fulaim X5 which I think compares favourably with all the other budget mics. It is very sensitive to location: best 150mm in front of mouth, but that's pretty naff for video. Before I got the Fulaim I bought a wired PurplePanda for only $20 and it beats everything sound qualitywise. But I hate wires haha. I was disappointed that it's audio quality dropped when plugged into the Fulaim. With a little EQ I now only use the Fulaim on its own. Blessings & thanks.

  • Great video! This was a nice comprehensive overview and I thought you conclusions were really good. I really don't love any of the offerings (and I'm not sure its even available). Here is my wishlist. I want an improved version of the Hohem. I love how the transmitter fits smartphones. No cables and very small to work with gimbals. I also love that you can use a lavalier mic and record a backup track. So here are the improvements I would like. I wish the transmitter was powered for easier use with regular cameras and the sound quality needs to improve. Maybe version 2? If you know of a mic system that provides that combination of features and quality sound I would love to hear about it.

  • Great video. I noticed that when doing the noise reduction that the voice was also lost and changed. I think a lavalier would work best in a noisey situation . I do like the Ulani best because it has the mic jack.

  • Great review! The Hollyland Lark M2 wins hands down for me. The mic size, ease of use and the remarkable sound quality are my reasons. Curious as to why the Rode ME wasn’t included. Whilst it has yet to release the dual transmitter pack that they have been advertising on their site since the new year, I imagine it won’t be significantly more than the current pack price plus the cost of an additional transmitter

    • I didn’t include the Rode Wireless Me because it would’ve been too many mics to compare 😅 But that is a good point about it being more budget friendly.

  • All of those mics provide good sound quality on their own, but when compared side by side to others, I agree that the Rode sounds has the richest and fullest audio. No surprise, since Rode has been leading the way for many years now.

  • If youre using a pocket 3 for regular walking vlogs, then you might as well just get a plug in lav mic. Unless you are gonna be doing some distant filming and talking?

    @spirittravels.@spirittravels.3 күн бұрын
    • Plug in lav mic can make sense if you already have one or are on a budget. Wireless mics are handy for eliminating the cable and being able to start and stop filming on the go, and filming from a distance.

    @RyanKorea@RyanKorea23 күн бұрын

  • Wth.... Ulanzi has noise reduction 😂, it is the button up to the gain control. When it is shinning green, it is on. (Two green lights) I have the ulanzi, and it is bangers (big but really great sound) . Also you probably have the latest firmware, as I had this mic for 1 and a half months and it had the latest firmware out of the box. Also!! You CAN turn on the noise reduction without the latest firmware, but it is better with the latest....

    • I had a really hard time figuring out the noise reduction in the Ulanzi. Even spoke to their customer service, who didn’t do the best job of explaining it. Regardless, I do think Ulanzi has the best overall quality /features to value compared to the rest of these mics.

  • You have several errors in the video, the Hollyland Lark M2 does not have a safety track and the battery life is the highest, 10 hours of continuous use and 40 in total with the charging box.

    @frecuenzi@frecuenziАй бұрын
    • Hollyland battery life is 10 hours in a single charge or 40 hours with the charging box. Saramonic is DOUBLE the time (20 hours) on a single charge for the TX (16 for the RX) or 40 hours with the charging box. So Saramonic has the best battery life per single charge.
