About The Daily Show:
Trevor Noah and The Daily Show correspondents tackle the biggest stories in news, politics and pop culture.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central.
Something I want to point out about recycling is that the first 2 steps is reducing, then reusing. If you can reduce how much you use any more, and it cannot be reused, then you recycle it. However most people skip to the 3rd then justify using more and reusing less because of it
Reusable bottles people you can even get ones made of steel.
How is re-using not reducing?
@@floBar51651 if you don't need it to be made then that's better than reusing something that was made. There is less material circulating.
@@floBar51651 re-using is re-using something you already have instead of throwing it away and buying something new but reducing is not buying something that's unnecessary. Ik, it sounds the same now but think of reducing as the first step and re-using as the second.
The whole recycling segment just boggles my mind. I'm doing what I can to reduce the plastic--as well as other products, but especially during the pandemic it's nearly impossible. I even take my own drink cups to the restaurants when I get take-out. We need a way to make some drastic reductions in packaging. We should charge companies fees/taxes if they're using unnecessary un-biodegradable packaging. Like the lunch meats sealed in plastic, placed in a plastic tub, and wrapped in a cardboard label, or the single use fruit, pudding, or mac & cheese cups. Making companies pay a fee for their choices, could create revenue for building more recycling plants. It could also push them to make changes in how they process their products. Like....why isn't that ring under the cap recycled with the bottle?
Reduce THEN re-use THEN recycle.
It saddens me, to have to get my news from a comedy show. It's painful to laugh and cry at the same time!
The humor helps me. I understand. And these brilliant "comics" can expose, accurately and succinctly. Keep shining the light.
Don't be sad, be informed. About the carbon footprint of the military industrial complex for example. Please watch "the true cost of the military industrial complex" (numbers still underestimated).
But it’s truer than real news. Isn’t that scary!
I don't see a breaking story about waste on primetime: kills the ratings. No one need be bummed during their takeout dinners. It might have an effect on the few but most people are in it for themselves
This is the society we live in.
Whenever the CEO of any company says that their product is completely safe, STOP using it immediately.
Its almost like corporations have no interest in protecting their customers 😕
Answer to their bs later on... make million/billions in the meantime pay off who they need and then get a slap on tbe wrist....
Theres always another customer
Thank you Trevor, for including environmental issues into the content of your shows.

Dupont or the military industrial complex... Please watch "the true cost of the military industrial complex" (numbers still underestimated).
@Jimmy Wilson Ehhh ... It wasn't wholly racist. It was more "take that nasty stuff far away from me to a place I'll never go" .... but, Africa? Just edit or delete it. And forget about it😉
@@LoveyK thank you. Clearly Jimmy doesn't see the plot or assumes being African we don't recognise "western exploitation".
Wow, all that stuff about an aging, inefficient power grid that's susceptible to extreme weather, and the brief mention about how Texas has its own power grid... turns out they were unbelievably spot-on.
The biggest problem with the power grid is that Texas didn't winterise lubricants in their wind generators. Regular lubricants freeze solid in very cold weather. Texas shot itself in the foot.
Imagine if the power grid would be updated as often as cellphones and computers.
We sure AF wouldn't be still messing around with dial-up phones.
Love trevor
But it's Duterte s partners who control all the ports where all the garbage barges are parked. Duterte is a Chinese agent manipulated into office by white supremacists Alex Nix. Just like white supremacists colluded with Putin to install Trump in office.
We can build an earthquake proof subway system but we can’t build earthquake proof infrastructure? If it doesn’t help somebody in a position of power become more powerful or more wealthy immediately it’s not worth it for the people with the power to do the changes

Why is it so hard to recycle correctly? Our german recycling system makes a profit of 15 Billion Euros per year...Almost 70 percent of the garbage goes into recycling. Can't be that hard to apply this system to the US...
You have to want to do it. And you have to consider the environment a priority. Unfortunately, in the US, too Many of the decision makers have the ability to live in the best areas where they live at home and in the local, county, state and federal capitals where they work, so they don't see the urgency.
@@patriciaa.walker5478 Also Americans do not like being told or mandated to do anything; even if it would save their lives and the lives of their children and family. Lots of people here will be angry and topple the government, if recycling became mandatory as it is in some European countries. There are people here who would be angry if they were told that they have to seperate their trash into 3 or 4 piles.
@@moremiaj4786 Sad, but true. Just look at how some Americans fight against wearing masks to protect themselves and others against covid.
The U.S.A used to do recycling ♻️ a long time ago, but some U.S citizens have forgotten what it means to keep recycling ♻️ going . And the states and U.S Government don't think that they cannot make any money 🙄 from recycling any more. So the U.S shipping 🚢 their recycling ♻️ to other countries like China 🇨🇳 and South Korea 🇰🇷. That's a waste 🗑 of time and money 💰. The U.S should go back of taking care of their own recycling ♻️ that way jobs can be created within the U.S 🤔. Think about this 🤔 people.
I don't know, maybe we're busy not starting world wars and not enabling fascist dictators.

wow this was quite informative
We need to do what they do in Japan. Each neighborhood has a recycling center with separate bins for each type of item. Volunteers monitor the stations, and if someone recycles badly, they can be fined.
This is it people, after 5 years we can finally get back to real news.

This is a comedy show tho not news
Is this new? I doubt it. He was on the Grammys tonight and he’s still got long hair.
Bless you for getting this info out to the masses!
Hey Mia
I feel like our recycling program needs to be more efficient.
And EASY
Ya I know I used to try as little not to offend anyone but still effective enough to have my beloved Coworkers chip into those recyleable totes to no avail. It was either below them or not their job or lying about oh I didn't know. Crazy, I'd like to ask why?
It needs to exist in Cleveland, they've been using seperate trash containers for recylables. then dumping them in the land fills. Almost forgot, they charge us to do it.
Not about trying to be more efficient. We just don't have the technology to recycle certain materials in a sustainable or non-toxic way, but a lot of those materials are seen as recyclable. Paper is notoriously hard to recycle because of ink. There are many types of plastics and only certain ones are recyclable. The really easy to recycle stuff are metals, glass, and wood. If you see a food container with ink on it and that container can hold hot foods or is microwavable, that ink is most likely not recyclable. It can be separated from the paper releasing a lot of toxins and then buried as toxic sludge. This is currently an expensive process. Same thing for any print paper with ink. Almost all printer ink is impossible to recycle. Plastic recycling is even more complicated as even specific types of plastics differ on recycling methods depending on the original use.
AI can identify and sort, and even cut off the plastic rings.
I always wait for your videos...❤️ from India.

Don’t pollute!
Developers knew when they started building these homes and private communities and any common sense people knew where they were moving to. These developers and the State should have been held responsible for planning ahead for protection of the people, the animals and our beautiful forests.
In Virginia Beach, VA developers proposed neighborhoods and the Air Force said, you really shouldn’t because you’re encroaching on our flyover areas and even if you aren’t in the crash zone you will have alot of JET NOISE!! VA Beach responded 💰 👀!! And expanded the building zones. Then residents started campaigning and complaining about the JET NOISE and wanting to push the Air Force to different flight patterns. The AF replied, no. We were here first, we tried to warn you, it’s the developers that pushed it and the city that okayed it. If you really make us mad we’ll move the whole base and take away the income we pump into the local economy that makes your home so valuable. Next day: We ❤️ Jet Noise bumperstickers everywhere...

Your own personal bush fire😂😂
I love this show, but Trevor..my man..that orange sweater tho lol
So very scary, sad and anger inducing. My friend caught two young men in her home through her ring video. We were all discussing this on a social media site. Up pops a young man saying she shouldn't prosecute the guy, she should feel sorry for him for his addiction problems. That the guys shouldn't be arrested. Here's the topper "Especially since they didn't take anything." Yeah, right, this guy lives in our neighborhood. He's talking on social media to us thinking we don't know who he is. He was arrested and posted bond. But some of the heavy beleeding hearts, espcially one who's running for local office is also pushing this "no consequences for crimes." Idea. she says they need help. That's possibly true, but at least in our state, if an 18 or older doesn't want help doesn't want to go to the hospital they don't go, even if they are mentally ill and eating out of garbage cans. So this zero consiquences from petty crimes isn't going to work because they can't be forced to go for treatment unless they have been arrested and arraigned before a judges. So how's things in your parts of the world?
I like both at home and Daily Show studio Trevor. And live stage show Trevor, and stand up Trevor. I like all versions. Bring them on and keep expanding.
