When a 12V is given to the transformer from the secondary side, the transformer should be given a certain amount of watts (W) in relation to the 12V, right?
It would have been nice to explain what you are doing!

if it is just for lights,get car headlight bulbs and hook them up directly to the battery, no need for any inverter and the efficiency is much,much,better,the battery lasts longer
Los cable soportan: 1.6 mm 5.9 A mx, 2 mm 9.3A mx; Por lo tanto la potencia esta limitada por el calibre del cable de entrada Potmx(1.6)= 12V*5.9A =71W , Potmx(2) = 12V*9.3A = 112w. El transformador si el nucleo es de 25mm le calculo 800W.

Hola hermano , oye el calibre del alambre magneto de cual debe de ser ?
El hierro es soldado antes por una barita de grafito o electrodo 6013( ya que es de hierro)para unir sus placas y así se cuando se corte en sus uniones no se separara y dejará de sonar. Teniendo su misma función de fabrica y así poder sacar su bobinado para futuros proyectos ( la 7018 es electrodo de acero inoxidable por si hay algunos que le quieren agregar para el núcleo) Saludos buen video.
Se solda en las esquinas y al medio, de preferencia a los lados antes de la unión de U y I

Would it be worth while adding say 20 turns to the initial primary winding to reduce core magnetic saturation? The space would be there to do it. I think these transformers may be under-wound as microwave ovens are short time rated.
Yes, they are, they WASTE A LOT of Amps on that original winding; can NOT be used for inverter, drains battery down FAST.

Did you use primary or secondary from microwave transformer?
He uses the primary. The one that you connect to the 220 volts AC. The secondary was discarded.

For obtaining 3000 watts the DC side wire should be able to carry 3000÷12 =250 amperes i doubt the primary side of 1.6 diameter will carry that much current. Any way good idea to make a car battery charger in emergency the 12 volt side wire should be atleast 25 mm square to get sufficient voltage and current to charge the batteries i tried this experiment in house to get 6 volt
The wires must be rated for 250 A! 3000 w ÷ 12 v = 250 A! but you would know that if you went to school!!!

That's unusual. A normal microwave oven transformer is 1000W.
The output of the magnetron is 650-1200 watts. The transformer is handling 900-1500 watts. You will notice here that the original secondary has been replaced. This modified transformer is easily capable of 3000 watts, at least for several minutes at a time, heat limited. I would, however, like to see heavier wire used in the new primary side. The step up ratio is high, so the primary amperage will be very high. A #8 or even #6 AWG wire would be a much better choice, and it should still fit. At 3000 watts, the 12V side is going to be seeing around 250 amps.

@@josepeixoto3384 depends on the amperage. I would say no, a microwave transformer will not dissipate heat for that much time. Eventually, the core will become heat-soaked, and you will start to run into issues. Remember that these transformers are cooled by moving air in a microwave oven. You could up-rate such a transformer by immersing it in a dielectric thermally conductive oil.

@@josepeixoto3384 well, with a turd, you could also build an autotransformer design, which will really help with your simplicity and compactness. Just be careful to pick the right core material.
