I tried it two weeks ago when I got tonsillitis. The raspy voice is really nice. It gave color to the songs that I sang but the results are the worst. I can't hit notes that I can reach before but I think it will heal after some time

First of all good for her for actually singing. It's funny that people say she sounds terrible live... and we wonder why most artists lip sync or heavily auto-tune their "live" shows. People don't know what a live show sounds like anymore. If it's not absolutely fake and perfect, people just aren't satisfied. I though this was an excellent performance and she sounded great. The rest of you can go listen to milli vanilli

she does not sound terrible live but you can tell from listening to her live that she uses a lot of auto tune and stuff. However, this is not necessarily meant to be a derogatory comment, just saying that she used to be better but she has just sung so much that he voice now still shows talent but is definitely worn out. Its not just her, take Julie Andrews. Her song in Princess of Diaries is a result of years of voice therapy because of doing so much singing in her earlier years. So I'm not trying to be negative, just pointing out that Taylor is simply not as good now and I think that she should embrace it by doing songs more comfortable for her now rather than try to sound like everyone else by using a lot of voice editing.
Lily Fowler (me) I would like to reword what I said just a bit. Her voice is not really worse, it has just definitely changed, and I think she should use this to do different kinds like maybe broadway (her voice is really powerful she would be GREAT on broadway!) but instead she is using voice editing things to make her voice sound like it used to/ just different to work with the song. She should make songs for her voice that she has now that exemplify her voice rather than make songs that require her to alter her voice to make them sound good.
Lily Fowler I myself much prefer her acoustic performances. Her voice was so clear, pure and in tune. The acoustic guitars complimented her voice without overpowering it.
Well the first time she sang Trouble it did sound like she lipsynced it, since it's also different from her usual country sounds, she had difficulties on singing it live. But in the end she can sing Trouble very well. That counts for the rest of the songs in 1989 :)
She should try an edgier side for her next album, her voice sounds better when she sings with a deeper voice and raspier voice

The recording actually confirms what she said.
