I'm impressed no graffiti anywhere? No litter? Very respectful
I love that for a small dog, the world is big and even in the kitchen, he looks like he has tons of space, never feeling confined. Thank you for bringing Lancelot into our lives and sharing his Royal Highness' daily adventures.
Brilliant but I don’t think I would be as adventurous with the food 😂
Beautiful filming, Stephanie. I imagine Michael took a million photos today. What a meal
I CANNOT WAIT TO see Micheals pictures of the area and Monkeys thank you for taking us there
Stephanie, Thank you for taking us with you! Japan is beautiful, and much different than I imagined. With love, Audri
Thank you Stephanie and Michael for sharing your brilliant trip xx
The monkeys are fascinating. I feel like I’m on vacation again with you guys. Thanks for taking us along.❤
It looks like you and Michael have had a wonderful time in Japan so far. It was great to have Michael's co-worker for guidance at the restaurant in Kyoto. The evening meal looked amazing with all the little servings and different sakes, yummy. 🙂🇨🇦
Such a lovely episode. Stephanie does such a beautiful job capturing her adventures. Poor Philip getting picked on whilst cooking. I wish I had someone preparing a delicious meal Ike Philip prepared for Marie and Sabine.
It’s all in good fun, Philip knows how to give it as much as he gets it, just playful teasing, very British as well to playfully banter & jab one another 😋
@@RinaValentina None of them are British!
They are learning to be British😊
@@debragrogan6235 just proves it is not just a British thing!
Incredible footage of the monkeys and the dinner was amazing. Philip, I think your dinner looked great as well! Love from Mary in Southern California 💗
I got quite emotional watching the snow monkey's especially the babies clinging to their mother's. What an awesome experience. The trains are super glam and luxurious and your hotel simply beautiful. ❤🐒
Steph you really capture the essence of a country. Fascinating vlog again! I'm so enjoying Japan...😊
Those monkeys are amazing so fluffy, clean and beautiful. I loved the baby riding on his Mom's back. The Japanese food too is so unknown to me. I had no idea what some of those items were but they looked delicious. Those trains so efficiently run and equipped !
The little curled fern heads are in fact an edible fern called fiddleheads, they're available in Canada at a certain time of the year, you may well be able to find them in France, its a unique plant and not just any fern, and if not cooked correctly can be poisonous, so stick to your asparagus
Interesting. I have never seen fiddleheads in France but never say never...
Some of us L❤ve you guys!! We literally say, We need France time, and we put on your show. Don't tell him but my boyfriend is hopelessly hooked on Dan's channel now as well. Shh . . . 😂❤🎉
Of course did you not see how the people handled the tsunami a few years back the Japanese society stood in line, waited their turn for the officials to help them did not throw one piece of trash down. These people are respectful in every sense of the word and I applaud them.
Japan looks so perfect, hope you get to film the masses of cherry blossoms. I love the contrast between your Japan vlogs and back home at the Chateau.
So lovely to be on your adventures with you!😊
i think that Michael has created a wonderful career and his photographic skills are amazing. Look up his work!
Yes I agree. Such a great artist
"thunderbirds are go!" LOL ahhh...childhood memories :) Also, beautiful music and video of the monkeys. Very cinematic and well done!!
Michaels photos of the Snow Monkeys will be fantastic ,cant wait to see some of them ,hope he shares them
I recall seeing those snow monkeys in the hot springs many decades ago on a British wildlife documentary. Unforgettable. Nice to see their ancestors still keeping themselves warm during the cold winter weather.
Truly my kindred spirit. I remember the snow monkey which was my biggest highlight. I remember the Bento box on the train headed to Kobe. It’s was so enjoyable watching your travels and flashing back!🍶
The monkeys are delightful. Fun experience. Blessings.
Those monkeys are so adorable, I could watch them for hours.
Who actually filmed the monkey segment, I think it was Michael's work.
Fiddlehead ferns are a seasonal delicacy here in Vermont! They remind me of asparagus.
I am a bit wary of the fiddlehead ferns, if not cooked correctly, you might meet Jesus!
The footage of the monkeys was like watching a Natgeo segment, excellent
you noticed the change in the quality of the footage as well then, not just me who thought it looked like professional filmed footage?
Stephanie, really enjoyed the trip and vlog. Loved seeing Michael P such a wonderful friend. Thanks, for taking us on your adventure! Really appreciate your travel vlogs as much as the chateau vlogs. They are a good change of pace. Loved the monkeys! Very much disappointed in the banter in the kitchen with Philip. It was bad form.
I am sur that the banter was said in jest and don't forget that it can only be said among good friends.
The leaves you had before the sake are called nozawana (mustard leaves) Nagano prefecture is famous for it. Stephanie, when you wear the Yukata the left side is always on top. The right on top is for corpses 😅 Micheal, wasabi only grows in very very clean water, there are wasabi farms you can visit in azumino(not far from where you’re staying).
I Iove Marie, and agree with her, "I am not mean, I am honest!"
Philip's culinary skills and confidence have elevated since Sabina was last there, which Marie well knows, and yet she was also undermining! That looked like a very tasty meal.
Could someone please tell me who is Sabina and why is she there?
I stayed in a seaside Ryokan 25 years ago. The evening meals, served in our tatami room, were a spectacle of tiny dishes and magic flavours. Although the giant Winkle was a challenge. I took photos, to the servers confusion, but I think I pre dated food bloggers.
The footage of the monkies is so precious!! I'm thoroughly enjoying your trip to Japan ...thank you
Gosh what a wonderful time your having with Michael and friends in Japan. From trains, monkeys, delicious dinner with saki courses, a lovely bath and relaxation. That sounds like a Top holiday to me
Wow! Thanks for sharing Japan with us!❤
I will probably never make it to Japan, so ive really enjoyed this.
Such a treat... to see the baby snow monkeys. Thank you. Stephanie, you may have been a little chilled at the hot springs, but you matched those pink monkey faces! ☺
The snow monkeys were beautiful . What a lovely, peaceful hotel and the restaurant was incredible. Thank you Stephanie and Michael.
Wow, the sending on your luggage is a great service. What a pleasure❤ what beautiful footage of the monkeys, thank you🙏 The food looks delicious.
You are so lucky to see the snow monkeys. I too went to Japan and never got to see them. They do say that staring at them makes them come after you
Just like their human cousins 😂
That’s a GOOD thing. Happy trails to you and Michael. 😊
I live in a geothermal area in the North Island of NZ so geysers, mud pools and many natural hot springs. I would never drink the hot springs water but it doesn’t seem to do the monkeys any harm. 😊 We like Iceland have geothermal power stations.
Loved seeing Japan, the train, the monkeys, hotel room and amazing meal. Thank you Stephanie! ❤xxx
The monkeys were extremely fluffy, gorgeous animals, grooming and drinking from the river. The different presentations of foods was a treat! Including Philip cooking, all looked delicious! Wishing everyone a Beautiful Spring!
This type of clothes is called yukata. It is informal summer type of dress, and though it looks kinda like kimono, it is not))))))
One of the best videos yet!🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
In the USA we call the curling tops of ferns fiddleheads which are delicious.
I somehow think Stephanie your never dressed warm enough for cold weather 🌡️
Thanks for the visit with the monkeys. The food looked wonderful
Thx Steph for sharing all your journeys with us! I do enjoy watching all your vlogs as they bring me so much joy! Those snow monkeys are adorable.
Thank you so much Stephanie I've enjoyed every minute of it I ❤️ the music you had behind the monkey 🐒 scenes they are cute with their young ones I do hope they feed them.
Enjoyed the whole vlog 😊 but, the love from the monkeys for each other was so sweet 😊🙉
Fiddleheads (fern)! Grew up eating them i Maine. Enjoy.
I’ve never had them, but as a child my aunt would prepare them. I was a child, what did I know.
What a wonderful adventure. I so loved the scenery and the food!
I call that a great way to travel, sending ones luggeage ahead and then that carriage with Sushi and cake and tea! Those moneys are too cute for words. Thank you for taking us with you
Beautiful and very interesting. Thank you Stephanie and Michael for allowing us to share your journey. As for those two naughty Scandinavian girls giving Philip a hard time! Time for you to get back and sort them out 😂
Thanks for the beautiful accompanying music, just love it.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful trip with us, I love you guys , your videos bring me show much joy 😊
Having visited Japan on a few occasions as a young "airline hostess" I'm really enjoying these lovely vlogs. It's such a gentle and pretty country, with a lovely culture. A dear Italian cousin of mine, lived there for decades and he would take us to the most interesting places. I never saw the mountains or the snow monkeys...aren't they the most cuddly creatures? So fluffy! Thank you for sharing Stephanie and Michael 🥰🤗😘Marisa xoxox
Want Japanese food now- what a treat, nicely captured
When I was in Japan last year my tour group sent our luggage ahead to Kyoto (from Tokyo) because we were going straight to sight seeing after we got off the bullet train in Kyoto. But there was a landslide between the two cities and our luggage was delayed at whole 27 hours. Thank goodness our hotel provided pajamas… it was one of many things that went wrong on that trip 😅
Fantastic video! What an adventure!
Wow thank you for taking us along God Bless love you guys !!
Truly a lovely experience for you, so appreciate your sharing it. The monkeys were adorable and the food exquisite. Blessings
Thank you for showing more of Japan Steph! Loved seeing the monkeys and especially your meal which looked amazing! Had the thought that you could decorate under your long pergola with birch branches and fairy lights too. Perfect for nighttime eating and dreaming. Very romantic ❤️❤️🐒🍜🍱🎏🇯🇵
So wonderful! Japan is on my bucket list. Thanks so much for taking us with you. The dinner looked divine! Enjoy it all ❤
Snow monkeys were on Nat Geo this morning. Fascinating creatures.
Wow, that's a real once in a lifetime trip right there. You are so fortunate to get to see those monkeys!
Right-when Michaels photographing them. National Geographic all the way.
thanks Stephanie!
“Wow this sad music is really…giving” lol 😂 perfection
The fern you ate, Fougère, is a Spring mania in Maine, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces. We pick them along the riverbanks when they are a couple of inches high. They are delicious. They have to boil them to release the toxic chemicals. Many do a soft boil for 15 or 20 minutes with some salt pork or bacon. They can be blanched and frozen. The only fern that is edible here is the Ostrich fern. Many make sure they have some in the freezer, or canned for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
How interesting! I know they eat the small fern fronds in New Zealand too - Māori cuisine
@@megangardner2766 Ours are about an inch across. You pick then when the curled head is out of the ground with an inch of stem beneath. They have a bit of a thin, rusty paperish cover thich you can wash or blow off.
Thankyou Stephanie for another beautiful episode. ❤
I have wanted to visit Japan since the original James Clavell "Shogun" series (1980). Time and costs being the deterrents. So, I am grateful for joining you vicariously on your exploration of Japanese culture.
That’s the novel I’m currently reading, I’m loving it!
Yes, that was a brilliant novel. I read it after watching the series. I couldn't get enough.😊
Fabulous tour Steph. Very interesting. Have fun.
What a magical place Stephanie, amazing from beginning to end!!
The Art in Japan... speechless
I was never much interested in travel to Japan. These vlogs have changed my mind! So interesting!
Same!!! but I would be very nervous....so very different to Europe....
Stephanie, those lights in the tree branches going into the dining room would be a good idea to have back at your chateau on Japanese night or any night for a lovely entrance to the dining room for guests.😊
Yes!! Fairy lights in a fairy forest of whitebark branches ....and little tea lights and colourful folded origami birds and squirrels & foxes &🐦🐿🦊🦔 hedgehogs!!
Lovely places, the food look wonderful, my husband wants to watch it again just to relive the food. Japanese for A demain is Mata ashitane.
Thank you for taking us along ❤
The top of a "frond" as you referred to it is indeed! They are a local Springtime delicacy in Eastern Canada, New Brunswick especially. We call them Fiddleheads, a Maritime sign of Spring ! Wonderful vlog, thank you.
Wonderful ❤Kate
You are all having too much fun! Wish I were there!
What a fabulous trip, Stephanie. I am so envious but grateful at the same time. Thank you for bringing us along. You are a wonderful ambassador for world travel!
Hear hear 😊
terrific video. thank you.
Such beauty! The cleanliness is beyond amazing.....thank you Stephanie. Sandi x
Amazing every course looked like a work of art. 🎉Japan is such a beautiful place. Oh that bad tempered monkey😮. Safe travels Stephanie and Michael. 😊❤
What a lovely culture. I'm putting it on my bucket list.
My youngest brother was born in Tokyo Japan and we lived there for 3 years when I was a young girl. But that was in the fifties. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
I enjoyed seeing your adventures in Japan and I am happy you have the opportunity to travel. Thanks for taking us along Stephanie.🙏❤️
It must feel odd to leave the hotel without the things you came with, but what a civilised idea to send your luggage on!
Thank you for another beautiful video.
Loved seeing the sweet monkeys. Enjoyed this very much. It reminds us theres so much to see in the world. Thanks for sharing. 🦋
The Monkeys Were Marvelous❤!!!
I loved the Thunderbird reference! What a beautiful stay. Stephanie, thank you for taking us along. I may never see Japan, so I do appreciate these films. It makes me feel like I've been.

Thanks, Stefanie. I had a lovely time watching this video. I am so gelous right now. 😊😊
Loving seeing Japan!Love the food and culture.Thank you for taking us along:)
Stephanie and Michael, By sheer (and very weird plus possibly cosmic) coincidence, this morning I was reading in an Apple News feed that Wasabi is extremely difficult produce outside of Japan. Apparently it grows in streams there and most always fails outside of that environment. The article also said that most of what is served outside of Japan is a mixture of horseradish, mustard and green food coloring. However, on a questionable high side, I now know that I apparently enjoy eating a mixture of horseradish, mustard and green food coloring. 😜
It supposedly loses its flavour quickly once prepared so anything you buy here ain't it!
That was very lovely…..😊🇦🇺
This is one of my favorite vlog series in some time! I can literally smell the scents of the cold woodland air on the mountain, the warm sake in your hinoki cup, the umami fragrances and that lavender satchel hitting the water! Japan is a sensory experience and you manage very well to share it through your images! Oh I'd love to watch those snow monkeys irl! For years I had a beautiful image of them sitting in the hight of winter in the hot springs with snow on their heads, as a screen saver on my laptop. So precious with their young, so gentle huddling together. 🥰 Truly a magical, aesthetic video journey you brought us. You've become such a capable story teller since your early vlogging days, Stephanie! Thank you! Philip! Keep cooking and you'll get the swing of the logistics and timing no problems! The girls need to let you get that routine in, it's a joy to be able to take over every now and then, Good job! I think Lancelot is enjoying being the center of his master's universe for a bit! ❤❤❤
