Just came back from inaugural sailing 1/27-2/3. I tried Crown’s Edge. It was scary but so exciting! I also tried climbing and water sliding, all are my first time. The last day was Prefect Day at Cococay. It is TRULY a prefect day! The island was owned by Royal Cruise and it was build like a paradise. So beautiful. My husband and I got the last spots for balloon ride over the island. It is worthy of the money. It was stunning from bird eye look. We all got certificates for being one of the first guests of inaugural sailing. It is the best cruise ever!

Fantastic coverage! The jog track was pretty cool. The buffet looked bigger than your typical buffet. Great job.

And yeah, Windjammer is a good size… I would say it’s pretty close to the Oasis class Windjammers.

I sailed on the 3 day pre-inaugural. Loved Chill Island and the taco venue!!!
YES! El Loco Fresh is very good! And TONS of areas to "Chill" in Chill Island. So many cool seating options onboard.
How was the solarium where the Aqua theater is doesn’t seem like there was much seating like on The solarium on Wonder of the seas.
So, the solarium has been replaced by the Aquadome area and the seating portion of that is called The Overlook. There are a ton of unique and relaxing seating options to bask in the sun and catch amazing ocean views. There are also two bars, the Overlook bar and the Rye & Bean in this area. In addition, the Overlook has several "pods" that are awesome for relaxing, or getting work done, as they have multiple outlets and charging units in them. Thanks for watching!

icon of sea is so cool, i wonder if they have the ultimate abyss it one of reason why i love cruise ships, and i wish they had the aquadome near the outside and outside theather because personally why i also love cruise, but icon is so cool for their waterpark
i hope for next cruise ship they make they add the abyss near the outside of the ship along with the amazing water slide , but i love the outside of the view they make the pools in

Just returned from a week trip on Icon, I spent most of my time lost, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Very beautiful ship but long long lines everywhere.

Well, this boat beats any shopping center. Or anything. Boat as such is a bubble of American life style. Only cars are missing, everything else is there, casino too. There you can spend all your extra money left. Haha. The proportions of the ship premises are astonishing, out of this world. The premises look very lucrative andcvery well designed and built. Made in 🇫🇮. But if you have any sympthoms of claustrophobia, you better not do the booking and enter the ship. Othetwise why not. Once in lifetime. Thank you for this very covering presentation! 👍 You have done good work.
Thanks so much! There are much more vast and open spaces on this ship compared to so many others that even if someone did have a bit of claustrophobia, this would be the ship for them-if any. And with no cars or other modes of transport, we use our feet! And that’s always a good thing.

It's like a damn floating small town...!!! My god that ship is massive. However, i'm not a cruise fan i'd much rather fly get there and then enjoy.
There is something to be said for spending some real time in a city or area-really getting to experience it. And we have visited some destinations on cruises that we have gone back to so that we could do that. Cruising isn’t for everyone, but this ship is amazing! Fun fact this was built in my city and from my apartment you can see the ship being built! Was cool to see it unfinished and when the dome was lifted.

I was on the MSC Splendida few 2 weeks ago, and the blue and white color will make you tired very quickly. However, your review shows that they thought of various colors, even green which is my favorite on central park that will help people to have a relaxing time. Thanks so much! Yes! This ship is popping with color everywhere! Even at night there are colorful lights all throughout. This ship will be sailing from the US for the foreseeable future, so you will need to travel to Miami, Florida if you'd like to sail on Icon.

Correct me if I’m wrong, so basically you travel around the world with ship and go to different destinations, do the ship stops so you can have a short trip to a place (another country) and after a while the ship starts moving to another destination? Cuz i heard for a specified time it works like that. BTW the ship and the life in it it’s just amazing!
That’s right! Cruising is a great way to sample multiple destinations in one vacation. And there’s always something fun to do onboard as well.

lol, you may be right about the scooter! It’s a little daunting at first but there are always staff members eager to help you find your way. And you will quickly learn your way around your favorite areas…

I get that…. And here’s my take. This ship is amazing, but I don’t think it is that much different from the Oasis class really…. Yes, there are some new things like the milkshake bar (which is overpriced) and the Aquadome area (which I love) but the biggest differences are the pools Swim and tonic, Hideaway and such…. Obviously Surfside is great for the younger ones as is the Category 6 waterpark, but bang for buck right now sailing Oasis class makes more sense. That being said, this is my new favorite ship!
I have my first cruise coming up in june and i am a wheelchair user. Have any tips or advice for cruising in a chair??
There are definitely accommodations for wheelchair and scooter users. I do see a lot more scooters onboard than chairs, but most ships have lifts in areas that are only accessible by stairs. Did you get an accessible cabin? That will make a world of difference. There are also accessible bathrooms all around the ships of course. Specifics really depend on the particular ship you are sailing on, but the cruise lines have been working to improve accessibility for many years…
That is a huge ship. I can't imagine being on one of the islands when this ship and a few others come to town at the same time. Must be a nightmare.
It gets busy, but most of the locals depend on the tourism so it’s a good thing for them.
Wouldn’t be surprised if MrBeast eventually leases out that ship/charters it for a video with a large number of lucky fans of his! Such a video project could possibly also be a marketing campaign by Royal Caribbean at the same time to draw customers to the new ship! :)

Great question! Cruise ships are essentially floating cities-this one being a large city 😃. Ships have everything you need including a medical center with qualified medical professionals. And for those that get out of line there are even jail cells…. Now, if there are life threatening injuries, there are always contingencies such as medevac or local coast guard meeting the ship for faster transport to landslide facilities.

I want to ask, how do we know what food and drinks are free when we buy a regular type ticket?
As far as drinks go, regular coffee, tea, and tap water are free. Packages are available for sodas, premium coffees and alcohol. As far as the food goes, the Main Dining room, Sorrentos Pizza, Pearl Cafe, Park Cafe, Aquafina Market, Surfside Eatery, Surfside Bites, El Loco Fresh, Windjammer Buffet & Sprinkles are all included food options. Base Camp also has a few included items. Most other food venues do cost extra. Trust me…. There are plenty of free options to choose from during your vacation on Icon.

Re: Port parking. It is cheaper to park at the port than having to pay the Insurance Deductible at the Miami parking lots. Speaking from experience.

Trust me, there are lots of great places to see the ocean on this ship--more than most in fact. This tour focus on the ship itself, rather than the views from it. Some of the best views of the ocean come from the Pearl Cafe, the Overlook and the Hideaway.
@thecruiseworld It definitely looks beautiful, I would just go crazy if I couldn't look out, feel the ocean breeze, sun. But I was also looking for an emergency exit lol I know people say it's safe but I would still be nervous.
I get it... For a first time cruiser, the Icon, or any of the RCCL Oasis class ships would be a good choice. I know it may not seem so in the video, but there are lots of ocean views... I believe that was mid day on a sea day…. I know a lot of people think this huge ship with so many passengers will be overcrowded, but we never felt that way. The pools of course were busy on sea days….
I would sometimes forget i'm on a ship if i'm on this thing.
There are definitely some places where you can forget-but they really did do such a nice job of creating ocean views even in the lower decks like in Central Park and the Promenade. This is just a great ship. Thanks for watching.
