    • I think it's very interesting that you mention that you turned away for Christianity 15:43 and yet, in your films, you seem to be seeking what is True. I don't think I'm assuming too much in saying that. In my experience, that is not they normal path of someone who has, in your words, lost his faith. I've enjoyed all of your film that I've seen and look forward to seeing more.

    • Would you be so good as to cite for me examples of the evidence Murray uses here to support his conclusion, and to "destroy bad ideas "? It's just that a logical argument requires evidence, but Murray seems to adduce no facts or data to substantiates his claims. There is little more here than vague, impressionistic assertions, most of which are either strawmen or ahistorical.

    • @Adam Jacobs Custard. Have you noticed that custard nowadays doesn't taste like it used to when you were a kid? Douglas didn't say a single word about the taste of custard in the interview. Perhaps Douglas doesn't eat custard and is completely in the dark about it. But it is far more likely that there is a well orchestrated propaganda campaign funded by dark money sourced from food industry multinationals. If Douglas were to start talking about the taste of custard, we might all realise that the food industry has been selling us crap for years and ruining our health. Flower pots. I bought a new 30-litre plastic flower pot for my fig tree. Colour of terracotta to match the other pots that sit on my patio. I was disgusted to find that I actually had to cut the irrigation holes in the base where excess water can drain out. Flower pots always used to have the holes pre-cut when you bought them. Yet Douglas said absolutely nothing about this in his interview either. Perhaps Douglas isn't a fan of gardening. Maybe he lives in a flat and doesn't even have a garden. But it is much more likely that he is an accomplice to this outrageous scandal and knows full well that there is a well orchestrated propaganda campaign funded by dark money sourced from the plastics industry. If Douglas were to suddenly blurt out how flower pots no longer have holes in their bases, we would all see how the plastics industry is abusing its customers AND consuming unsustainable amounts of fossil fuels in the procsss.

They also have a tendency to argue on the basis of out dated data.. eg they dismiss anything uttered by a contemporary Sage such as Adi Da Samraj ....as bollocks because such teachings utterly destroy their uninspected egoic and therefore limited world view.... leaving them to bang on about other equally limited people’s solutions to life’s problems in that old fashioned mansplanning way that they do. Of course their words amount to nothing more than attracting the attention of other self serving and uninlightened people.

The yogis push humanity to go beyond the mind and consciousness and have put down their experiences in detail. It's a road map of what humanity can achieve but at the end leaves it in our hands to choose the path (or not). The society was divided into 4 life stages, the first one being the student/learning age followed by the life of a householder and so on.... It is sad to see today's students brainwashed with rubbish, all stages mixed into one and left with no direction

  • Douglas Murray is the only person alive today whom I would describe as brilliant. Combining a rapier wit with a great screen presence, he is unsurpassed in interviews, especially when allowed to speak at length without interruption, as here; witness his remarkable slow burn from 22:44 to 25:11. Having read his first book (published when he was a twenty-one-year-old undergraduate at Magdalen College, Oxford) and his most recent one, I am now eager to read all those in between.

  • I was seeing you laying down throughout the interview thinking "this guy has found his style"... Whatever helps you relax and best engage with your interviewee. And it was a great interview - I love Douglas Murray and you asked excellent questions. But hearing you have debilitating back pain really touched me because I use to have that too. I remember being a musician in a former life and showing up to band practice and playing my bass while laying flat on the floor. That back pain lasted years and was with me all day everyday. I'm so happy to say I am free from that now. I wish you the best in your endeavours with your film making and journalism. But even more so, I wish you a life free from pain. All the best from a new subscriber. Dan

  • It's always good to hear Douglass' thoughts on what's happening these days. I haven't seen him as much I prefer to lately. I agree with much of what he says here, but I would say that some believers (perhaps a minority of us) actually acknowledge that there aren't always answers to our deepest, most troubling questions. Just read and reflect on Job and Ecclesiastes for starters. Terrible things happen that are ultimately beyond our ability to understand why they happen.

  • 20:19 I like Douglas's point regarding certainty. To me, that is the main issue. Not so much religion, but dogma. Religion without dogma is fairly harmless. But take anything seemingly harmless and even good and add dogma to it, and it becomes incredibly harmful. That being said, the other side of the coin (nihilism) is also quite dangerous

  • I much appreciate this lucid explanation of what "woke" really means. Woke always comes down to the oppressed vs. the oppressors. Who each of these represent is up to the particular "woke" ever-changing population. The woke should issue a scorecard of "wokeness" and apply it to the major woke spokespersons who travel the world in their private jets to decry global climate change.
