Sandboxes have been around for a while. Arma has a thing sort of like this. Battlefield has just adapted it into a PVP environment. Smart move really. Especially when the players are demanding for them to make it possible to mod the games again. This can open the doorway for some really amazing mods potentially.

If you have read all the feedback they have been getting about things it's like "we want to make mods, we want this mode and that mode" let us toggle this thing or that thing. so really when you put all of this together on a whiteboard this is exactly what the players are asking for.

All kinds of editing options but left out the most important one...a map editor. With all the possible combinations the ability to create custom maps would instantly make this the king and keep it around for decades.

I hope they spend reasonable amount of time and effort on developing more efficient anti-cheat software.
The reality is that no matter what you put in place for "anti-cheat" people can code around it. There will never be a perfect anti-cheat.
The best anti-cheat is giving more power and control of the game and its mechanics to the public. With all the customization, I predict more people will be playing on custom servers than ever before. I have faith that the community will sort it out and rightfully weed out hackers.

if there is something I always loved about arma it was to make battlegrounds that felt like campaign missions where you script the planes and cars to fly over you and place enemies at specific locations. I hope they let you do that and make us able to make small missions we can complete with friends

This is brilliant. With the removal of HUD, friendly fire, and removable weapon attachments, players can make a more semi-tactical shooter like Hell Let Loose, but in the Frostbite engine. Absolutely amazing stuff from DICE 🙌
This. Use realistic bullet speeds and dmg, decrease the movement speed, remove most of the hud, and limit the weapon plus system.

After putting many hours into the beta, something along the lines of 6:50 is definitely gonna be my preferred way to play. Really not huge on the specialists, although launch will have more available so only time will tell I suppose.

I don't think so. You can only change gameplay elements, to recreate something unique and special the players would need the tools to edit and build the maps.

Which is a good thing. The better and bigger the competition, the more innovation and development is needed to keep up. I won't play Battlefield, simply because it is not my cup of tee, but I really hope this game goes off hard.
