Looks like Bertha quickly became a member of the family. She was doing office work at the desk, sweeping the floor, and walking on the treadmill with her mom. Even trying to solve the MYSTERY of who spilled the food bowl!
7 years ago, my granddaughter rescued a grey giant Flemish, who was a breeder and kept smothering her litters. Obviously, the girl didn’t want to be treated as only a breeder. The breeder was going to sell her to a “freezer farm”. I bought her for my granddaughter. This rabbit was just like yours, very personable. She lived in freshmen dorm and then in the apt. with my granddaughter for 2 years. She passed away from old age. My granddaughter is graduating from college with a degree to further her career as a veterinarian. She volunteers at an animal shelter and has two rescued dogs. ✌️

What's a freezer farm?! I never heard of that. 🤔
Basically sending the rabbit to a place where they freeze it to study whatever they study (it is a lab that stores biological samples)
Bertha is catching up on the living she missed in her early days. Thankfully people like Emily realize what these sentient beings need.

This is the most personality I have ever seen in a pet rabbit. She is almost more like a cat or a dog.
My brother had a long-eared rabbit. We named him Jack Rabbit. I always feed him when I visited my brother. I think he lived to be about 20 yrs old! I miss him. 😔
Having a bunny is dangerous...you fall in love with them and it never stops...ever.....❤

In the sense that bookworms eat their way through books, she certainly appeared to be doing her best to mimic one 🤣
A close friend has cats and bunnies. I never thought of raising bunnies until seeing my friend’s pets. She said bunnies are easy to litter train and raise just like cats. ❤
Nope. I wonder if your friend has had her bunny for a long time because it does not sound like it.
Certain types of rabbits (lop-eareds, in particular, IIRC) can be litter-box trained (as can hamsters, actually). I don't know how they raise, though
@@meganofsherwood3665 I have a mini lop. He primarily PO OS on a pee pad, but when he jumps on my bed, he will go there too (waterproof pet blankie) and occasionally will leave a random poo in random places. Other bun owners tell me this is pretty common.
@@IMeMineWho Bunnies ARE easy to litter train. However, they are expensive to keep and are very high maintenance. They are definitely not starter pets and I wouldn't recommend them as pets even to adults. You have to be ready for a bunny, esp. since they are an 8-15 year commitment. I say this because SO MANY bunnies get dumped and abandoned each day. I have 3 rescued bunnies myself and they have the run of the house. When you free-roam them, their personalities come out and they thrive. They are very intelligent and loving - most people would say they are like a combination of cat/dog in where they can follow you around, pretend not to hear when their names are called, and give you lots and lots of kisses!
@@kitbunbun Lol. You are talking to someone who has owned a bunny 4 over a year..female bunnies are easier to litter train than maLes and it is hardEr to litter train males before they get fixed! As far as high maintenance..yes they are high maintenance. I am fully aware of bunnies getting dumped as MY CHANNEL HAS RAISED FUNDS FOR BUNNYLUV RESCUE! I know that they are loving as my bunny is like Gomez Addams and pretty smart himself. Fyi: I adore other bunny owners but please do not preach to the choir! The most reliable info comes from organizations like RSPCA, ASPCA and as one of the people at Bunny Luv tells me "there is so much misinformation about bunnies on the net" and frankly, a lot of it is spread by misinformation from KZheadrs giving generalized info or what works for them. I do not believe anyplace is bunny proof..more like bunny preventative. Frankly I know what you are telling me and only disagree with you about the one point. Check out my Baby Boy.🐰 But I agree with you on the age thing as I would not recommend them to anyone under 30 or over 60 (unless the bunny is older and more set in his ways.)

I'd have had to keep the kitten, too. When your pet bonds so strongly with a foster, that's a guaranteed foster fail! That is a very happy rabbit, and I'm glad she's got such a good life now
Our bunny taught our cats to eat lettuce and chew cardboard and put them in line by stomping his back feet. He was also naughty because he chewed power cords, furniture and shoes. 😮

Bertha is a precious bun bun. i've learned so much about the incredible personalities that bunnies have and it makes me so sad to know there are people who just keep them in little cages. It should be illegal as they should room free, just like a cat or a dog should never live in a cage! Bertha is also such a good foster mommy.

I have come to understand that people who foster are amazing people. Especially if the animal at first needs special care. Or around the clock feedings. So much work! And yet they do it. Over and over again. Wonderful to see stories like this. In a world full of trouble. I can watch The Dodo, and get a refill of that which is best in the world.

When she tries to get in the snack bag, she is like but I like veggie straws. In fact I adore veggie straws.
What’s amazing is this all occurred because the lady performed a random act of kindness to an animal. You never know where that action might lead you.

Bertha and Jolene are so sweet and adorable together and reminds me of the bond that my rabbit and 2 of our cats had🐰😻❤️❤️! Although, I don't wish to preach, but please remember that 80% of a rabbits diet needs to be hay and please make sure that she doesn't chew and/or swallow anything not suitable for a rabbit to eat, especially electric cables. A rabbit will chew (and potentially swallow) anything in their environment/in their way, even if it is hazardous to their health, which could easily cause gut stasis and is one of the sadly most common but very deadly killers in rabbits.
