Imagine this 10 years ago with CM Punk after they teased a feud. *sigh*... would've been amazing.
I said the same shit.
Nobody would've cared except the marks. CM Punk isn't as big as he thinks he is.
@@big2033 Ridiculous comment. Firstly it's Stone Cold returning to in-ring action. Secondly it would be around the time Punk was super hot after the pipebomb. Lastly, both are super talented workers and would have performed at such level as to where it would've engaged everybody.
Agreed.
@@dariussparkes7080 Meh. 10 years ago would've been too early and killed the nostalgia appeal. Also, Kevin Owens is better at doing the story justice CM Punk would've gone off script and try to call Stone Cold a WWE shill or something. K.O. was perfect for this.
Austin was amazing. Such great nostalgia and just did a great job overall. Dream come true for KO. Made the night worth it.
Austin goes out on the high he deserves and KO gets the Mania main event he's earnt. Both may as well retire officially today, awesome!
*”…and it was fucking on.”* Exactly my thoughts watching it live. Holy shit.
Man I was so fucking nervous when the match started. Austin didn’t look good. You could tell how nervous he was. 19 years of waiting. In front of 70,000 fans. His home town. The grandest stage of em all. It must have gotten to him.. His stomps looked weak. He looked tired. I was really worried. Then KO threw him into a ring post and everything changed. He started crushing brews, and with every beer he downed he morphed more and more into the Stone Cold we all loved so dearly. By the end of watch he was the full blown Rattlesnake again. He’s such a fantastic storyteller part of me wonders if maybe he even did that on purpose? What a legendary match. I am so fucking happy he did it. What a moment. Thanks for everything Austin. The greatest of all time.
Even I guess so. Infact Cole commented saying beer is his spinach like to Popeye.
I cant like this comment enough
I was there last night. Just to set the scene, the wrestling shirts worn by the fans that night had to be close to 50% Austin shirts. Everyone was red hot and ready to see him.
because he's an acutal star, unlike everyone still wrestling today.

Saxton's sell on the stunner was fantastic
So happy for Kevin Owens. Been a fan since his indy days and I remember the time in his career where he was starting to come to terms that he would never go to WWE. To see that he got to main event WrestleMania with Stone Cold who has meant so much to his career is amazing. I hope they don't botch the follow up with him.
This is the first time I've seen Mark's face, only having heard his voice on old B&V shows, like the ECW December to Dismember review. He looks every bit the dork I expected.
Yes, and he completely sucks too.
Bet he is better looking than you though.
This Austin fella seems like he might have something. I think he might have a future in the wrestling business.

When they rang the bell I was like "OK, they learned from the Bret vs Vince fiasco at WM years ago, it's just gonna be a shmoz and Austin will win quick." And then they had a FUCKING MATCH. It obviously wasn't 1997 Stone Cold, nor should anyone have expected it, but he was great. I fucking gasped when he took that suplex on the concrete. In hindsight they could have advertised this going in as a wrestling match and I'd have been totally satisfied.
I liked the surprise of Austin actually wrestling. His work style is easy for him to pull off so it looked like an attitude era Stone Cold match.
Austin deserved this final moment to go off on his terms more than anyone. And Owens delivered. Applause all along.
I was there I couldn’t believe this turned into match it shocked me how good it was night 1 was shockingly good

KO can headline another Mania. He can win 5 more World Titles. It doesn't matter. Last night was the peak of Kevin Owens career and he deserved every second of it
This first night of WM once again proves that WWE is their own worst enemy. They are wholy capable of putting on a great show when they actually put enough time and energy into it. Once mania is over though, I'm beyond confident it will go right back to the same schlock it's been for the past few years now.
Without any doubt WWE: Why Waste Effort?
The biggest issue is they are on auto pilot for the entire year outside of Mania season.
@@fafgwaqgwqgrwqrwqwq somehow they're able to both tear up entire shows hours before airtime and throw something together through sheer determination while simultaneously phoning that shit in, figuratively and even sometimes literally (when Vince just doesn't feel like ruining the shows in person so he has Pritchard do it by proxy) My favorite is probably their penchant for recycling... they're better at that shit than humanity's greatest minds in hippie science by a longshot. They're at "fifty plus years of embargo" levels of creativity with that shit like those Cubans who've kept 1940s cars running with wishes and duct tape. Just sayin', Vince once tried to make three dudes into nation of domination II but that failed... so he just made Kofi, woods and Langston into three Koko B Wares and that shit somehow STILL works. To quote Jesse Lee Peterson: "AMAZIN'."
Yeah, the few months after Mania is always crap
It was better than it had any right to be considering Austin's limitations. I just hope that's it for him and doesn't get the itch or get dragged back in for more. That was the perfect send off for his career.
Vinny said it best: watch the pro wrestling you want. There's so much of it right now that there's something for everyone. I have a Wrestle Universe account because I'm digging what Cyber Fight is doing with NOAH, TJPW, DDT, & Chocopro
Stone Cold will forever be the greatest star in the business you will never see his like again that’s what makes seeing him wrestle one last time perfect send off for him and his fans…….. only one final ‘Attitude’ ere star remaining to carry the torch before it burns out, unlucky for current gen it just so happens to be The Rock who is in better condition than when he left 😳
I would put Jericho in that small group of last remaining too.
Rock was lucky to sniff Austins jock. And remember, Rock tore his abdominals in half last time he stepped in the ring while delivering a dud with John Cena. (Roids are a helluva drug). Bruno made the company, Hogan made it worldwide , & Austin is why there is a " Universe"

Steve did NOT seem to like the first half of the match. he looked like he wanted not to be there at all. However, the last half, man did he enjoy it.
The more beer he drank the more he got better
He might have felt better once the adrenaline started to kick in.
I love that Austin got better the more he drank.
This is Austin's version of "Hogan must pose!"
Amen Vinny. So much great talent out there to watch and entertain us.
Austin and KO were both perfect. I was a little worried at first because Austin looked a little unsure when it started, but after the first bump he took it was on. Probably thought, “Well, I made it through that so we’re good.” 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
I’m really happy to hear you not shitting all over this. It was a spectacle and worthy of headlining the night, Austin shook off the ring rust quickly.
A great match indeed! I thought it would have been one sided and be over in like 5 seconds, but it did last and bumps were real. Thank you Stone Cold!
That's enough. Please dont go to Saudi Arabia, Steve. It was a fun brawl, but it's obvious Austins legs have gone. He can't run, can't run the ropes, can't jump to do a thez press, can't deliver a stunner without breaking the fall with his heels, and cant produce any venom with the mudhole stomp. It was fun. It's done. But he's 58, let him be. Dont wheel him out again. Great night all in.

He right tho, Bryan and Dave spoil modern wrestling for all of us lol
This again proves wwe is their own worst enemy. Anyone who is a wrestling fan should have known this would have been some kind of match, not just an interview. It's the end of day 1 after all. So they should have advertised something. We all knew Austin had been training hard. Even if it was like Becky last year and just a stunner and a quick on it would have flown. Wwe cost itself earning more money again. The stuff that happened in the match was a huge bonus.
Like they said, Austin probably kept it to the last second. If WWE knew they would do this well in advance, they would have screamed to the heavens this would be a No Holds Barred Match. As much as WWE absolutely is their own worst enemy, they love promoting their own shit.
WWE logic: "why advertise a show just to give em that show when we can teach our idiot audience to expect the unexpected and mark out for any curveballs we pitch? Even the ones that bean the shit out of them- listen to the angry pop we get when those marks think we're going to zig when we zag!"
Lmao what on earth are you fools talking about? Salty as hell.
“Get off the internet and go touch grass brother” popped me so hard
Bill Bahti said Austin was going to wrestle in a street fight and Kevin was going to bump for Austin like crazy at Wrestlemania months ago. But Dave said it was just going to be a talking segment.
The main reason Austin looks older IMO is that his goatee has started to go grey in the last couple of years

Austin was Vince McMahon's biggest draw EVER! To this day, no one has sold more shirts, had more of an cultural impact than the Rattlesnake. You can have 1000 champions, it matters how much people relate to your character, and how you make them feel to connect with you. EVERYONE, no matter your gender, or race would love to kick their boss ass, drink alcohol and flip the bird for a living! Vince has had a few Austin/Rock level stars he's misused, BIG TIME! They would get over organically then he stopped their momentum. He doesn't want to create "Larger than Life" "Bigger than the WWE" type stars unless he hand picks them, like Roman. just let the nostalgia consume you brother. Thats what this was all about. A WM moment for one of if not the greatest of all time.
I just don’t understand those who thought this was good. It wasn’t as sad or as bad as I expected or as it could’ve been, so I guess it was good in that way. But it was still sad and not in a good way. 20 hrs ago vs Rock you thought, wow those were two of the top wrestlers ever, both essentially going out with a hell of a match, but it was exciting to see where the business would go. But now, 20 years later, the older of the two (57), came back due to the company having a hard time selling tickets to their biggest show of the year, because the mainstream interest in the business has nose dived so dramatically. And his performance looked like it. But whatever. If the current fans who actually watch this stuff regularly enjoyed it, then that’s what matters I guess.
WrestleMania has always been this way since the last decade. Bringing old names back for nostalgia for the casuals. Admit it or not but wrestling isn't as popular as it was before even if AEW exist.
