Škoda, že si nedal práci s převinutím těch cívek trafa, je to nevzhledné a o mizerných spojích kabelu ani nemluvím. Taky mu to už hořelo a on to zabalil do pásky, aby to hořelo ještě líp. Proti zakrouceným spojům ani nic nemám, ale kdyby je propájel, tak mu to hořet nebude. Svářečka musí mít ventilátor, protože i v době bez zatížení berou transformátory celkem 11 až 12 A a to je výkon velkého elektrického topení 2500 až 2600 W v malém prostoru. Výkonu je až příliš, mohlo by se to regulovat přepínáním vstupních vinutí.

Ok.. amigo.... pero TOOOODOS los que hacen este proyecto con transformadores de microondas... funciona peeeero solo x un minuto... mientras lo prueban...pero chambeelo X mas tiempo y verán k se SUPER CALIENTAN LOS TRANSFORMADORES....Y NO SIRVEN NI PARA TRABAJAR MEDIA HORA... SALUDOS
es cierto, esta maquina no son para chambear pero tampoco es que se quema en media hora, es un projecto dyi casero para sacarte de apuros, aunque si usas buenos cables o mejor alambre de un solo filamento bien grueso y abanicos para refrigerarla puedes trabajar por horas con ella, yo mismo me hice una y he durado horas usandola y no se a quemado, eso si es mucho mas sofisticado que esta ya que tiene dimer para bajar la corriente e incluso puentes de diodo para convertir el voltage del arco a dc.
Awesome selfmade project👍 I have 2 questions... 1) wont the transformers need to have a fan? 2) welding machines have an amp setting to weld at certain heat/temperature for certain thickness of metals..right? What metal thickness limits (to weld with) does such a machine have? Seeing that there is no AMP setting anymore

You could still use a fan and connecting transformers in series means that you'll get a arc so stable that you won't have to change amperage.
Was that 1/8 inch rod you was using at 400 A?

Those capacitors look like they store enough charge to kill a person a couple times over. I'm surprised you didn't die as many times as you touched them without any concern for safety whatsoever.
those capacitors have a discharge resistor that discharge them after you use the machine, that's basic circuit desing, also, such capacitors have a self discharge ratio which mean they're not batteries, they hold the charge for a couple of hours, even if they didn't have that resistor they'll end up discharged over the circuit with time, and I am quite sure that machine he dissasambled was scrap which mean it was broken a long time ago.
