Nissan Qashqai - One of the UK's best-selling family cars for a reason
BUY, LEASE OR FINANCE A NISSAN QASHQAI FROM OSV: bit.ly/2HEVDa0
Improvements to Nissan's second generation Qashqai Crossover make like even more difficult for this model's host of imitators. Jonathan Crouch takes a look
These days, the Nissan Qashqai is sleeker, feels more expensive inside and offers some of the most sophisticated electronic safety technology in the mid-sized Crossover segment. Improvements to the 1.5-litre dCi diesel that most customers choose have enhanced its appeal. Plus as before, there's also a 1.6-litre diesel and two petrol engines, front or all wheel drive and manual or Xtronic automatic transmissions. There's a reason why this Nissan is such a hugely popular contender in the mid-sized SUV segment.

One of the most comprehensive and eloquently presented car reviews I have ever had the pleasure of watching, Bravo !
This 4 year old guide is a lot more informative and good to look at compared to the newer reviews.
This guy is the best car reviewer out there.
Mat wotson
@@bridgemasangu3597 it depends. He's great on some aspects and not so great on others...
Thank goodness! A review that`s more about the car than the presenter! Good sensible, practical advice, rather than someone who`s auditioning for `stand-up`. This is the benchmark review channel, by which all others will be judged. Well done!
We appreciate the great feedback! Many thanks for watching 👍
Great to see such a comprehensive review without silly antics. I found this very helpful.
Best car revue Bloke in a long time ,No stupid overpowering "music" no idiot camera angles and zoooooms, no Micky mouse voiced commentators with bad emissions. Just good info, all delivered unbiased too .Thanks and well done Sir 10/10
Great review. Very well presented and thorough, comprehensive content. Thanks- just what I needed.
Had my tekna 1.5 diesel for 4 weeks now very pleased with my purchase very comfortable ride
Great to have feedback from an owner, thanks NutsFathead
Best car review channel on KZhead.
Thanks for the feedback Duane
Great review and a car that deserves respect, the fastest selling car of all time!
Best car reviewer on KZhead. Clear and concise coverage of what really matters to potential owners. Can you do a review of the Juke? I know it's soon to be replaced, and I actually own one. However whether the review would be positive or negative, an honest review like this one, along with the good filming would be appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback 👍 we will review the new variant when its released, although we don't have a date in the diary for this yet.
I agree with @BuildersM8. This chap is the best reviewer on YT. What's his name?@@OsvUkVehicleSupply
Great well presented review!!
Already bought one 2 days ago but I feel there's nothing left to ask after watching this as there is so much to know about this car! 10/10 , glad I've got one now!!
Thanks for the feedback, we aim to share as much detail for buyers like yourself. Enjoy the new Qashqai 👍
Fantastic review, usually look at carwow but this review is much more detailed. Cant wait to get my hand on 1.5 tekna diesel next week.
Thanks for the feedback Douglas Adam 👍 great to hear we can help. Enjoy the Qashqai ✔
Excellent, factual, unbiased, no nonsence review. Very professional. 👍
Thank you for the great feedback, Caroline 👍
What an incredibly detailed video…. Keep up the good work guys!
That's very kind of you to say!
Really professional review!
Great review much more my level of intelligent car journalism.
Another great review with plenty of detail, i had the mark one qashqai for nearly ten years and it never let me down it was the 1.6 petrol and was a pleasure to own but hearing of bad reliability reports of the mark two i decided to trade it in for the skoda karoq which so far has been very good.
They now have appleplay and android auto on 2019 models. I have just ordered one and collect it in 2 weeks. Easier for my elderly dad to get in and out of. As much as I will miss my civic, I’m looking forward to getting this
Great review, really enjoyed it. Very informative and fair and honest. Getting my Qashqai on Friday and looking forward to getting on the road and driving it after watching your review. Nice jacket by the way, what brand is it and where did you purchase it?

First off a great review, very detailed and complete. I did however find a mistake made by the presenter during the bit around the 30 minute mark. He speaks as if the car driven is a N-Connecta model with things like the 18 inch allow wheels, in fact this looks to be the Tekna version. The tires clearly state at 30:53 minutes that they are R19 and this these are the 19 inch alloy wheels off the Tekna (that and i drive the Tekna version of this car ;) ). Also the seats are half leather which are standard in the Tekna model. Granted these can also be fitted as an option in the N-Connecta. But i strongly think the review car here is the Tekna kind with extra options fitted for the Glass roof that is now only standard on te Tekna+ and the Bose audio upgrade, which normally also is only standard in the Tekna+. Oh and also a dead giva away that this is the Tekna is the heated front window.
Definitely a tekna in this video I agree although I've just done a deal on the Tekna normal not the Tekna plus and the glass roof wasn't an optional extra, it comes as standard with the Tekna or does now...don't know if that's a newer thing or what. It shows in the spec breakdown as well on Nissan's website.
The most comprehensive review so far! Thank you. I drive a qashquai and I came on here to see why my car I've day brake due no reason but because the road was bendy and pedestrian on the pavement me my car think I was going to crash into them it brake automatically and so thank you for explaining. I didn't think my car was that clever
Many thanks for watching! Great to hear we could help you with your Nissan 👍 How would you rate driving the Qashqai so far?
Excellent review. Crisp and informative.
Thank you for watching, Bryan
We have this car and love it 😀
Hello Sir, I recently discovered your channel with the KZhead's autoplay option. The channel is pure gold. Very descriptive reviews. Almost every questioned in my head is answered in your video. My only recommendation is to have some form of chapters like some other channels do. For instance if I want to check the interior, I won't have to traverse the whole video to find it. I really like how you compare the competition in the same price segment. I currently compare those SUVs and I wonder if it is a good idea to buy the old (the one from the video) Qashqai, or to wait for the new one. I can buy this version with Tekna + package for around 25K euro and the Accent (mid equipment) for about 20K. I think the new one is going to be significantly more expensive.
Thank you for the brilliant feedback, Plamen. Great to hear that you enjoy our reviews 👍
Good review.
Brilliant camera and editing work on this
Very kind of you to say!
excellent review, I pick up my Qashqai tomorrow morning, bud u make me feel like I made the right purchase, best review on this nissian model. 100 all the way
Quashi number 2...we love them 😁
Excellent review. No nonsense to the point.
Many thanks for watching 👍
Qashqai is great practical car and is quite quick in the right condition.
As n ex owner of a 13 plate tekna and then a 16 plate tekna (both privately purchased) the few faults with the Qq were old fashioned navigation graphics, and little things like ,a lack of window switch illumination,no gas strut on the bonnet and headrest that don't tilt. And my biggest bugbare, you can't remove the preselect touch buttons for the radio on the screen ,while you are running the nav screen. It just makes the already small screen look cluttered .
Thanks for the feedback Bryan, its valuable to have comments from owners.
Just got one. Very impressed. Nice Car
4 months how do u like it ? I just ordered mine I had Nissan pulsar before this what engine did U get and still like it ?
Best review I've ever seen
Wow, that's some high praise indeed. Many thanks, Alen 👍
Qashqai is the most reasonable preference between SUVs with its comfort, quality, and good looking.
Its a great choice 👍 that's probably why we see so many on the roads
SEAT Ateca cost the same but feels more refined. I like the looks of Qashqai but as soon as you pull out you immediately feel Ateca is a better car - better engine, better steering and the overall feel of refinement ( incl infotainment) compared to Nissan. I bought Ateca.
I've this one in silver grey , very good very economic and totally reliable
Is it still going good?
Love this lil car..
Top review!
Thanks for the feedback Enstrom 🙏
Great review Sir👌👌
Many thanks Ntomboxolo! 👌
Great review, buying the 1.2 tomorrow, in a very sexy Electric Blue!💙
Great choice...You will not regret....Japanese reliability...English workmanship
Are you satisfy ?
@@charishraju Japanese reliability. Have you heard of the horrible XTRONIC CVT auto gearbox. Manuals are okay
The 1.2cis years worse choice you could ever make
@@trevorshields7347 Yes, i must admit, i am happy i purchased this. However, i did install an 8 speed Throttle Controller to my engine- i never set it past 5, and my baby flies!! So easy and effortless. Nothing like my 99 Lexus rx300, after all, she's a V6 3000 engine, compared to the 1.2 of the Nissan, but still, very satisfied. It's been 2 years now and all she ever needs is her regular service!💖
I looked at buying a 2 year old model to tow my caravan, as they did well in the tow car of the year awards. I also joined a forum, and am I pleased I did. There are numerous problems with these cars, and the couple I test drove had many of them. Air con, battery to name the major ones apparent on both. I went for a German VW instead.
VW oh dear, not diesel I hope.
Hi. Was your car the Manuel or auto?
Great review, thank you...

Great in-depth review as ever. The Qashcow (sic) has become a really class machine now - I like how they've evolved it.

Yes I agree. Just traded in my Citroen C5 aircross for a 1.3 Acenta Premium automatic. i've even surprised myself.
Most exhaustive qashqai review online!
Thanks Alex!
Still no rear climate control or usb's, why not? I own the the pre-facelift model & can't see any real improvement apart from the 'flashier' looks
If you are pulling the wrong lever to open the fuel or bonnet you have missed the indent on the fuel opened. You can even see it in your footage LOL
We only get the 2l version in New Zealand, and I don’t see that as an option in this video, which is weird, since our Qashqais come from the UK
Its because you are the All Blacks - so you cannot have small slow cars either. Your rugby side isn't small and slow...
What a pro!
This guy needs to be on the telly giving reviews.
We appreciate that! Thank you for watching 😁
Ooh, was favouring the Kuga, i'm now in 2 minds, a 2017 is just in my 11k budget, this is probably the more sensible choice. Only thing is the small engines scare me, i'm used to driving 2 litre diesels.

Just saw this review. Thought it was excellent. In the US this vehicle is called the Nissan Rogue Sport. Can you identify the differences from the Nissan Qashqai that you reviewed. Thank you.
Thanks Michael 👍 great to see comments like this
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply You are welcome. Is the Qashqai in the European market identical to the Nissan Sport in the US? Of course a diesel option is not available here. Hoping a hybrid variant becomes available.
31:56 The panoramic glass roof comes with the Tekna normal. Might be a recent change after this video was made. I was in a Nissan showroom yesterday and have ended up going for the Qashqai Tekna, not the Tekna plus and it comes with the glass roof. Shows as part of the spec on Nissan's website as well. The addition to the Tekna, in the Tekna plus spec is: Premium Nappa Leather Trim** Electrically Adjustable Driver's Seat Including: Memory Function Driver's Seat and Door Mirrors, 4-Way Electric Lumbar Adjustment, Monoform Quilted Nappa Leather** and Heated Front Seats Electrically Adjustable Passenger Seat with Manual Lumbar Support Dark Headlining & Gloss Silver Mirror Caps
Thanks for the feedback Jack 👍 with cars improving and being updated all the time its hard to keep up 🤣
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply No problem. Thanks for a very insightful video...it definitely helped me make my decision on this car. Makes a change from the 30-second "how big your water bottle can be to fit in the door" reviews on some other channels 👍

What about adjustable steering?
Where is the OB2 in the 2015 1200cc model?
And the micro breaking means discs and brakes wear quickly and replacement extortionate id rather go slower around the corner,i got rid of mine and brought a kadjar.
How are you finding the Kadjar?
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply loving it seems a slightly more comfortable ride too ,having had the 2 i definately prefer the kadjar ,so far had it for 18months and not had any problems fingers crossed lol.
This second gen. Qashqai really puts the ball when it comes to practicality! Especially noticeable if there are more drivers in the family, and you end up behind! Just outright bad uncomfortable seats, absolutely no cabby holes, and dark hard plastic everywhere… You we feel like in a cave, especially on a longer trips! Absolutely frustrating to be passenger behind… And the boot is not large enough as a cherry on top… So good drivers car, but not so passengers car..
Are we just going to ignore the Skyline R33 GTS-T @ 6:40? 😂 Thought it was a GTR at first but I’m not so sure.

Does this mean that they've sorted the gearbox, stop start and multiple other problems that I've been reading about. Was thinking about getting one but Nissan's attitude to the problems has put me off!
Are we going to talk about the r33 that just rolled next to him
Love my qashqai.
You do really nice review save for the odd placement of camera on the dashboard while reviewing. It’d be better if the camera was placed at the panoramic sunroof or, even better, on the B-pillar at the front passenger’s side.
Thanks for the suggestions 😊
I have a Qashqai..1.5 dci manual is the best. But now changing to a Kuga. Kuga is a better car for a whole number of reasons, Qashqai is not an SUV, just a tall car but the Kuga is an "SUV" size car.
Great change M James 👍 we have seen a few customers doing the same. Thanks for the comment

Great vehicle...but wish it had 15~20 more hp.. Not the biggest fan of CVTs either (have a 2012 Nissan Maxima - moving to a Genesis G70 for me and possibly a Mazda CX-5 for wifey..)

I will not get another one less then a year old 4000 miles on the clock alarm failed ,battery failed, disc failed
Cranford is in Middlesex. Cranfield is in Bedfordshire. Just saying :-)...Otherwise a great review that could only be better by naming the trim level names rather than constantly referring to entry level trim or bypass the lower trim levels and you get blah blah. I don't like that new feature on the New Ford pickup as it shuts off at a light. Most rediculous feature , as it will eventually cause a dominoes effect with the starter, alternator, battery, etc.. just Stupid . More money for the mechanic,
I had a top of range 65 plate tekna, absolutely shocking lemon reliability. 4 sat nav units, 2 driver seat bases, camera calibration kept going out, terrible road noise.
