Me too. My girlfriend lives 1000 miles away and I'm lucky enough to be able to go see them because their mom is super into giving gifts to make people happy (like plane tickets for Christmas and prom) but then corona hit. Prom was canceled. The plane tickets were canceled. So I have most things I want, a girlfriend who i love and who loves me, a supportive family oj both sides, ability to book plane tickets. Sounds great, Right? Except my girlfriend and their mom are high risk and there's a pandemic. What a cruel joke. I know lots of people have it worse, I really do. But it just makes me so sad.
I haven't seen my bf for over three months now. We've spent more time apart than together 😔

Why do you think you build bad modern houses? I live in an area where almost every home is of modern build. I think you do pretty good job making them, even tho it’s challenging for you. You need to practice building them more so they look as perfect as your blue suburbans hahah So, a challenge for you: huge mega mansion on 64x64 (if possible in del sol valley, but I don’t want to torture you) Btw ik you already did that, but I would love to see more, that’s all Embrace the full potential of your talent 💪
Modern houses oddly are hard to build and feel like you did a great job. I think it's because the modern look is typically straight clean lines.. where that doesn't really translate well into Sims a lot of the time. It ends up just looking bland and boring unless you really get used to building these kinds of homes. I also think a lot of the buy objects lean towards traditional rather than modern, so it's a lot easier to build traditional styles of houses. There's some amazing CC packs though like "bafroom" which add in a lot of great modern objects.

Some Body Well, from what I know about central Florida (where Kayla lives), there’s a lot of neighborhoods with more of a suburban style there. Like, those types of cookie cutter houses that all look basically the same. I may be wrong on this because it’s been a while, but the few times I’ve been there I don’t remember many modern houses and you tend to build best what you know. People who grew up in a more modern house/area would probably be better at building in that style than someone who grew up in a “classic” suburban neighborhood.
I think it's harder to *furnish* modern houses. They have some really neat window options that look cool for modern builds, but there's so much wooden furniture and cozy decor that feels more traditional. Although the City Living pack came with some neat modern art, so there's that.

just had a thought and hear me out: every room is a pack challenge except instead of rooms, every build object type is a pack. so, you roll once for wallpapers , then for floorboards, once for decorations, once for appliances, once for cabinets.... this would be so fun omg kkkkkkkk
Series idea: EXTREME legacy challenge!!! Rules: pick the largest lot at del sol valley as your “family lot” (since that has the HIGHEST bills, so it will be fun). You start with 0 money, one of the house traits has to be celebrity home (that way your sims will be embarrassed all the time (until you make them famous, if you want to) and it’ll make everything harder), aaand it has to begin in winter, for an extra touch of suffering. And also, the biggest challenge here is to actually complete the challenge 😃

iLike Nutella YES, the new pack comes with so much perks that can be so helpful with this challenge. Extreme version of legacy challenge is basically rags to riches. You start with 0 simoleons. But the thing is, to make things harder, you need to live in a largest lot in del sol valley, that lot has the craziest bills, so it’ll make it super hard to play in the beginning. Also one of the house traits must be celebrity home so that your non-famous sim will be embarrassed all the time and less likely to do the things you want them to.

Here in my city we had this old fabric factory turned into a shopping mall. It's kinda cool bc the outside still looks like an old factory, but with some more modern touches. Your build reminded me of that!

It's worth listening to her podcast for school advice. It's pretty entertaining, she doesn't update it any more but it does have some useful advice.
I did too have that problem the last months now before summer break. I just lost all motivation and I never wanted to work from home because I was so tired and just didn’t want to do anything. I tried to make a plan over a week like Monday two questions and read pages and write about what I just read. But I ended up making more plans and procrastinating by planning what to do when I don’t, which didn’t happen. But now It’s summer and I’m getting a cat so I’m happier.

Hi! For me it really worked to Just start every weekday at 9, made a deal with myself to work till 12, and then have the rest of the day of. Often it really helps to Just start at the same time every day, to maintain a rythim. Once you start it will be easier to continue for a few hours, and its really motivating me to know i finish at a certain time.
If you find that distractions are a problem, you can find apps that 'lock' your phone for a while ( I use the forest app!). Sometimes it's useful to set myself a few small tasks to do in a day (I can find it hardest to start working) or to chop a larger piece of work up to make it more manageable. I hope this helps :)

I found the best way to make all the maker stuff work in my house was putting them in a "shed" in the yard. Then you can hide it all

Yeah in Scotland we have LOADS of conservatorys and like EVERY house has one
They are conservatories here in the U.S. and they aren't rare and when they're in houses they're just called sunrooms

I usually make large mansions and I always have a "Wine Cellar" and movie theater room (or work towards one) and when I make the wine cellar I have a room at the end of it with the cupcake machine in it. I just love the idea of having to go into a dark stone brick cellar lit by candle light to have to make something cute and sweet like cupcakes with that monstrous machine.
There is an old shoelace factory in St. Louis Missouri that has been turned into an interactive recycled attraction for people to explore and climb in and it is always changing. Idk if it still has lofts in it, but it did. A lot of old architecture like friezes that are at eye level.
I have a Sims challenge! Build a house that sleeps 8 Sims, 1 elder 2 adults 1 teen 2 children and 2 toddlers. However the house must fit all the requirements for EVERY type of build. Excluding a tiny home. I’ve been working for 2 days on mine. Have fun!

There is a mod that lets you bake everything on the stove + it moves cakes from “cook” to “bake” wich is one of my biggist pet pives!
With another mention of the cupcake machine, it reminds me of this item from Sims 3 that I loved which was this little toy baking oven that kids could use and actually get up a cooking skill from it. I used to have the children slave away making batches of cupcakes for parties and it made the kids feel more useful cause they could take better care of themselves

I have been building a Modern home. it's been influenced by Frank Evert Wright style. He is one of my favourite architects of the modern era. I suck at landscaping so no landscaping to make it pop. I like how the kitchens and bathrooms turned out. I would love a tutorial for landscaping.

I find just taking some naproxen and taking a nap in a dark room normally helps me. Love the build can’t wait to get eco lifestyle!!! 😆

I feel like history buff to history buff I could clear up so many of her questions about “modern” architecture. Honestly it could be a really fun conversation, she is clearly so smart and has a great eye for things, I wish I could be the one to talk her through it!

The sister save was a save that she was making where each world only used items from their corresponding pack so that it was easy to download even if you only had 1 pack.
this turned out so cute! 💚 I’m sorry for everything that’s been going on lately, that situation with the flights sounds so frustrating. long distance always sucks. my bf works in a different part of the state, I used to get to see him fairly often but thanks to quarantine it’s been like once or twice since march 😖 and as someone who also lives alone and doesn’t leave the house...yeah it can definitely be awful and miserable a lot of the time. it sucks, but it’s temporary, and you’ll get thru it. 💙💙💙

I think listening to what you were saying regarding bright colours the moral of that story is that we need a design tour back from the Sims three that was amazing and we need that back if they’re going to do with him is five I think that’s one of the most important things and also to make the Sims more sensible instead of goofy! I like to build obnoxiously big mansions to fit the obnoxiously big skill-building objects in. It's always fun, and I ended up with some actually good builds out of it, even if they're needlessly large.

I have a save that has a full house of monotone characters and they live in a beige tiny house. I love the warm creamy colors of a minimalish house and I think it helps to appreciate the nuances of the colors

When I think of renovating in the sims I think of keeping the floor plan maybe change a few things but you changed the whole build. Still looks awesome I was just excited to see you renovate the shell. Love your videos though

You can shrink down the telescope and it still works, it just looks really crazy when your sims use it XD I've never tried shrinking the cupcake machine.
I'd love to see a tutorial on skylights :) I've been struggling with them a lot but i love to use them in my builds so that would be great. Love this build!
