@@kaylac9921 you can click on the cookbook and it opens the same cooking menu as the oven You still cook on the oven like normal, but you can access the recipes through the cookbook, just a neat detail

The fridge fitting issue has caused me to accidentally leave spoiled food hidden between the fridge and the wall and go crazy trying to figure out why my Sim is smelling something weird.

The tattoo especially is so real. I'm a chef, and I cannot tell you how common it is for culinary students to get a chef knife tattooed on their forearms. Same with baking students, they always always get a whisk. You don't even need to see a diploma. If Someone has one of those tattoos - yep, they went to cooking school. It's the most obvious and common tell.
Omg cooking tattoos are so fun recently I saw some people get cabbage prints and dried fish across their arms
I have a chef’s knife on my arm and get asked if im a chef ALL the time at work, to the point where it got quite annoying

I wish they would let us make our own premade outfits for CAS or let us favorite certain items because CAS has so much stuff these days it feels a little overwhelming sometimes
Definitely use filters! I find it helps alot when looking for specific items.

That’s a good idea, kinda like outfit load outs hopefully they implement that at some point but also in the meantime the columns mod helps with cas feeling overwhelming

I love how in my country Mac and cheese in TS2 was translated as "hamburger with cheese" because the translators thought "Mac" stood for McDonald's Big Mac and seeing how the dish was always coming as a bowl of something instead of a burger is such a fun childhood memory.

This thing with translations happen to these days. For example, I`m a Russian player and I can`t get over the fact they didn`t translate BLT to anything, just leaving it by initials transformed to сyrillic (I could only realise it`s a sandwich after cooking it and seeing in-game), BUT THEY TRANSLATED SHICKEN NUGGETS. To "roasted chicken beats". And its name bar in сyrillic gets ridiculously long. Any kid in Russia knows what nuggets are like wtf
@@mooboo4311 most of the times when food preparation is unfinished, there is either a bowl or a cutting board with ingredients left and you need to click "continue preparation" for the Sim to finish it. But they were already eating what's in the bowl, so I thought it was a glitch in the game and they were starting to eat a burger in a "half-prepared" state. So I actually was making them prepare Mac and cheese over and over again hoping it will finally work properly and I will see a burger, which never happened and I just believed it's a permanent glitch 😃

In German, grilled cheese is translated to Grillkäse, which is technically the literal translation, but a Grillkäse in Germany is just pure cheese you put on a grill (think along the lines of halloumi or sometimes more similar to soft French cheeses like camembert). So, not knowing what an American grilled cheese was, I was so confused why the sims put it on bread.
I feel like now is the time to make a Waffles family to be enemies/rivals of the Pancakes.

An over-the-stove microwave would be amazing! I like recreating my actual home but can never get the microwave in the right spot since they don't have an over-the-stove option in the game

I really like this pack and am SO thankful to see that they are back but still feel weird about them making a "European" stuff pack yet still having an American fridge and GRANITE countertop !!! It really was a missed opportunity because I feel like wood is much more popular right now and you rarely see granite in Europe (at least in France). They nailed the tiles though.
Why do you consider it an American fridge as opposed to an European one? (Just wondering) Totally agree that wood or regular stone for the countertops would’ve been much nicer and more European like to me at least… But at least we have a Swedish (basically Scandinavian) waffle maker, which I’m really happy about
@TheNikkerojoe I would say, most European fridges are kinda slim and have one Big door for the refrigerator and one smaller door for the freezer. It’s very uncommon to have a wide fridge with double doors. I hope I explained that well (I’m from Germany) ☺️
whenever they do stuff that isn’t “American” inspired it’s always filled in with bits of American culture. I think it’s just them coming short on research, or small oversights. It definitely would’ve been nice to have wood counters
@@TheNikkerojoean 'American' fridge is HUGE. If people here in Europe have one, EVERYONE will comment on it and call it a Big American Fridge. Our fridges are alot smaller and slimmer, and sometimes build into the cabinets.
KITCHEN MAGNETS in combination to the cities from letters from pen pals. I don’t know if it’s that much of a thing in the states but here in Germany, since we are surrounded by a lot of countries with interesting cities and history, many collect magnets from the places they went to. In my home we have a small collection too. I feel like generally the ability to add things like letters or pictures to fridges is missing
I love the sims developers but I am excited for the CC creators to make a pink swatch for the appliances, imagine the famous pink kitchen aid inspired mixer on your sim’s house!!! I can’t afford it IRL but my sim definitely can
Also, a closed corner upper cabinet. The shelving unit piece is super cute and nicely made/designed. But I agree with Simsie in that I want a closed corner piece too. Lol

I think the Ferrari Red kitchen aid is more iconic ( and also the standard i believe - at least that was the colour i did not need to poy extra for)

This might be the only pack that I ever buy full price and not wait for a sale. It actually seems worth the 9,99€ and it feels perfect for the sims in my currently most played save. Also I love the Build-Buy! I have been considering buying Dine Out on sale for a while and using mods to fix it but this actually seems wayyy more like what I want my Sims to do. Thanks for the review. Your enthusiasm makes this such a fun watch.
I think dine out is only worth with Carl mod. You can work as the chef, waitress or the host and cook for delivery. It improve the gameplay if you are playing as the owner of the restaurant or just visiting. The mod literally save this pack. It have some nice CAS and decorations in BB too.
I never really have issues with dine out. Are people saying its broken because it takes like 4/5 sim hours to get through a meal? Taking a shower and shitting takes like 2. Sims doesn't have the best grasp oj time
@@jlpkbrb1086 Because of that too. The other complain is that sometimes the chef doesnt cook, client reset out of the table, the employees doesnt come to work. The mod fix all of that and make waiter faster to clean and other good improvements in the gameplay.

It's funny, the fridge thing never bugged me because thats how all my fridges have neen in real life 😅 Back gap for plugs, counter gap for things to fall into
Same; ours has a small gap on the sides and a gap on top just big enough to fit my wok but when the ice maker water line came undone it made it easier to fix that. The top of the fridge is a nice extra storage place for big appliances you use a lot like air fryers, stove top woks, electric frying pans, waffle makers.
I hope they made more Scandinavian recipes and not only waffles. I have a lot of food I would love to be able to make in the sims or have others learn about.
100% personally i would do unspeakable things for scandinavian christmas foods in the game
@@hjrdaku8793 omg yes! But also just like... food in general. I am Swedish, so I know mostly Swedish dishes. But the food I have tried from other Scandinavian countries has also been really good. I just want fläsk med potatis och löksås. Kebabpizza (I know, I know, it's not REALLY Swedish/Scandinavian, it's a mix between different cultures, but IMO, that makes for an even bette reason to add it). Raggmunk is also amazing. And kålpudding. Kåldolmar 😋. JORDGUBBSTÅRTA! Sill, Janssons frestelse, revbensspjäll. Julbord is just amazing. Smörgåstårta! And midsommarmat!

Nope. I was *sooooo* disappointed to find out about that. It's literally the perfect size for it and it just doesn't work in the end counter. MAYBE it would work to use MOO but I haven't tried it.

Having Nordic food in the sims finally makes me really, really happy. I feel like I can finally make sims that reflect my own culture and how I grew up (aka eating smørrebrød...but make it waffles?) idk, the inclusion of gravlax and our lovely heart-shaped waffles we have just made me so, so, so happy. The small details count.
One of my biggest pet peeves is the fridges having huge gaps on both sides. I alt place stuff but then the cupboards don’t line up with the top ones and it’s annoying. So I’m VERY excited about the new fridge

Fridges aren’t supposed to go right up against the wall because that’s where the very hot refrigeration coils are and putting it against the wall would burn your house down
It honestly depends on the fridge and in what country. In a lot of countries, like Europe (which the creators of this pack is from), it's common to have fully fitting fridges. Again, it just depends on how the fridge is made. But in game, it is necessary because when you drag food into the fridge sometimes the plates get stuck in between the fridge and the wall, causing the food to spoil and not being able to see it unless you move the fridge
I'm in Germany and every fridge I've ever had goes right up to the wall. There are also no hot coils on the back.
okay but it doesn't matter really, since this is the sims and we can pretend. if it's better for gameplay, and doesn't break any immersion...

The condenser coils are not always on the back. It was very very very common for them to be mostly on the back in the US for a long time, so many people assume this is still true, but there are also fridges with condenser coils on the bottom…and some even have them on the top. If your fridge’s condenser coils are not on the back then it absolutely can go flush against the wall.
Nobody seems to know that the pizzamaker is suppose to be outside? In europe we use a pizzostone for in the oven making and the pizzamaker, which works on wood or coals is going outside next to the bbq in a household 🤣

The commercial had it outside and even in the States, pizza ovens are most commonly found outside where the grill is. This is the Sims though, so it goes in their inventory
Thisss. I will eventually buy this pack, but I'm counting on modders to make an outside pizza oven and a KitchenAid-dupe mixer by then.
These kitchen tiles are my literal bathroom tiles LOL I've been missing these in the game for a while now, the jungle adventure tiles are pretty but don't go with anything.
As someone who LOVES using the teal hair swatch, I'm glad the headband design is lemons, since I love lemons, so it's not a big sacrifice for me 😂

This pack is European style right? Stainless steel appliances are more for commercial settings here, people tend to prefer white (cheaper options usually), black or anthracite or coloured appliances
The cooking and walking away feature - is so cool and much needed. “Set it and forget it!”
So for me, yes this pack will be worth it. I love build buy stuff and that entire kitchen set is nice. But I'm 100% gonna mix this with the Cool Kitchen stuff.
I’m actually pretty excited about the new stall. I use the yard sale tables a lot, but the fact that food spoils isn’t ideal for food stalls. I am going to use this much.

In another pack they have a modern like kettle that you boil water and then choose what to make a cup of

They wanted this kitchen set to be inspired by European kitchens (although every country in Europe has a different culture and different kinds of building houses/flats). So in order to do so, they had to make the fridges built-in, since this is a very common thing in Europe. Also, I thought this game comes out tomorrow, so did you get early access or did I mix something up? Because although it's almost 9 pm here, it's still the 27th 😅 Oh, and the thing with the dish washer is a proof for things being different all around the continent of Europe. Because in middle Europe (at least where I'm from) most dish washers fill in one counter. They're not all that small. It makes sense, though, since Ikea makes this kind of dish washer and the European team is from Scandinavia (Norway, Finnland and (you guessed it) Sweden (where Ikea is from))

in finland (which is nordic not scandinavian, sorry that's a pet peeve) we have both kinds of dishwashers, our current dishwasher is the slimmer version because our last apartment could only fit that and not a full sized one. i'd say the full sized dishwashers are more common than the slim ones tho, at least in my experience

@@sirius1770 Yeah, I've never seen a slim one ever and I've lived in Finland since I was 5 or 6. My friend considered it for her kitchen nook that was extremely small but even that would have been a tight fit.

I would really love if sims gurus would do like maybe every month or every few months they could introduce new food from all cultures/countries. I know it would be ALOT but it would educate people so much about other countries and their food. There are sooo many countries that people never heard of or don't know where it is (I'm from one of these countries where people ALWAYS ask where my country is). They could do surveys asking for what dishes people would like to see in game from (specific country). People would be so much helpful, wouldn't need to google what dishes where are, just what these dishes are.

I love the waffle maker we are getting. I have this joke going that Eliza is like always mad at Bob in pics and I have always said "calm down lady he just wanted waffles!." So now I seriously need to go in game tomorrow and make sure he finally gets his waffles.
Bob deserves his waffles😂. I don’t know why but Eliza seems like one of those people that are just exhausting so I can imagine Bob (who seems so chill) just wanting to eat his damn waffles in peace
For those who didn't know, Lazlo Curious (the sim mentioned in the curious pizza description) is a sim from the Sims 2 base game! He's a knowledge aspiration sim, he lives with his 2 brothers and has a sister as well as 2 HALF sisters who were born after his dad was ubducted by aliens. His sister then married and had 2 kids with the SAME ALIEN who abducted his dad AND one of his brothers is also pregnant after being abducted by aliens. So that's why the pizza in this pack is an alien one!
I thought this would be the perfect chance to make Kitchen Counters have their own mini inventory, that you can store the appliances in, like how the fridge can only store food, rather then in the sims inventories. I feel like it make the kitchens just feel a bit more realistic
This feels like an amazing pack where they could have added the lemonade stand for kids. I really miss the lemonade stand from the sims 2 so I hope they will try to add it in again
The strawberry apron for kids ❤ My daughter has one that looks exactly the same in real life and I just melted into an emotional puddle when I saw it.

11:09 soemthing they could do to combat this is that certain hairs with accessories that change colors you can have the clothes drop down menu for accessories color and the basic top hair color menu. Easy fix imo

Oh my goodness this is sooo exciting!!! I've been like suuuppeerrr stressed from work for the past while and I get so excited seeing your videos and seeing whether it's worth it! I love these little things, and its these little things that help a bit of stress at the end of the day! I had no thought of buying a stuff pack until they announced this! Super excited to see more gameplay, definitely planning on getting this. ❤❤❤
The small dishwasher is so weird to me, but I think that's just because I'm soooo used to seeing full sized dishwashers😂 it may take me awhile to get used to it or I may just never get used it, idk, it really just depends for me.
My only small compliment is theres no way to prep food without a stand mixer, theres no hand mixer or whisks and so foods that require preped ingredients can't really be made off the grid or in a small kitchen without space for appliances

I do like this pack SO MUCH!! I didn’t knew I needed this but I do want to buy this pack at least when it comes on sale! This is so nice add for my game just like tiny living was!! And as a person who lives in europe this pack is so for me!!!! I mean i have almost exactly the same dish washer!!!

I was really hoping they would go full ‘built-in’ appliances for this kitchen. It’s almost there, but not quite. Where I live (the Netherlands) it’s pretty much the only type of kitchen we have. This kitchen is really nice, but I’m still hoping there will be some more modern stuff. Like having a built-in oven and/ or microwave that’s situated on eye height. And built-in fridges and dishwashers that match the kitchen. Maybe have modular cabinets and shelves similar to Dream Home Decorator. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking

I love this look!! I wish we had a stackable oven! Double oven.
As soon as I saw the pack, I got it without hesitation lol. I love it. There are a few bugs though. 1) The sims stop tending the table whether free will is on or off, so its good to keep an eye on that. 2) If you have the appliances on the table, other sims will use them. If you only want to sell quality stuff, I suggest use them for yourself then put them in your inventory. Or you can let the other sims pay for making it then sell the normal quality food and get the profits🤣 Extra tip: I find that when the sim is tending the table, you can do some socialising, and flattering, complimenting and brightening days work really well to get sims to buy stuff. Basic socialising can help as well I think 😄
This is a fantastic review of the pack! I love how you are really thorough in not just showing what is in the pack but giving tons of details of why it’s different from what has been released so far and what you could do with everything.

I'm very excited about the Sims 2 reference in the alien pizza. And I just recently remembered that there was a food processor in the base game of TS1 and/or TS2, so I am very excited about the stand mixer.

as a scandinavian, this pack is making me equal parts giddy and (embarrassingly) teary-eyed ! "things from sweden" in video games, but ive never seen "our" waffles !!! like this is the stuff my grandpa helped me make !!!! this feels so personal and im so beyond happy that the waffles come with proper scandinavian styles!!! the fish, the mushrooms, the lingon!!! its all just so freaking exciting!! this will most likely be my most used pack!!! (btw ive been trying to find a scandinavian cc build pack! like for the exterior! if anyone knows a good one - let me know!)

but in real life fridges do not touch the wall because you have to plug it in. I've also seen dishwashers like that in real life! they are called "apartment sized dishwashers" where I come from!

The glass/windowed fridge is one that neatly fits under the cabinets and is one I've used for a build before is something I just want to quickly mention since it's a base game item (I like it for the rustic vibes lol) but this is so handy to see SDFSGS

I am really grateful that the team took a chance on europe and made something typically Suropean. We saw inspiration in japan, wild west etc. One thing really missing for me is something slavic inspired (Czechia, Slovenia, maybe Balkan etc.) and of course i would love to see an “african” world.
