Back in 2008, I remember the Russians mocking the Georgians. Georgia was trained and equipped by NATO, and were confident they could take South Ossetia without any real issues. Russia hit them so hard that the whole Georgia army just flopped after 2 days of real battle. One Russian soldier was quoted saying “American training is only good for running away”.

@@Don_Vergas09 They have. But the thing is that Russia is rich in just about every resource under the sun. Ukraine and the west are not. Russia also has an entirely independent economy. None of the western nations have that, not even USA. And this is what i have been warning about since before the war even started. Stop poking the Russians because any war against Russia (even a proxy war) is guaranteed to become a war of attrition (which it has), and the Russians can simply outlast us in a war of attrition! They said "oh, but the Russians need us to buy their oil and gas! Without us, their economy will collapse!" Nonsense! So long as the Russians have resources to export cheaply, there will AWALYS be somebody that is going to buy them. Simple supply and demand dictates it. If not Europe, China and India will buy them (and that is exactly what is happening). The Russians can comfortably keep at it at this pace for the next 10 years if they have to. Ukraine and Europe can not.

I am always astonished when you put the numbers of losses. It's sad and brutal also dramatic for the families of the deceased... May God have mercy of their souls. And I'm ashamed to know that my little country sent shells to the terrain namely 155 mm but I don't know what are that type of sfuff and for what type of weapons/guns. And in my name, they don't have permission or allowed to send anything that could take the life of another human being! only if it was in self-defense and since this is not happening, it is seen by me as a crime and homicide!
