I use an Android phone and had about 4 scanner apps on my phone that I had to remove due to malware. I tried Microsoft Lens, and it functions very well. This is now my go-to scanning app. Soooo glad you shared this app, Kevin! 👍👍

Hi Kevin, good video! The thing I saw wrong with the capture is that I could tell the bottom of the screen was closer and the top was futher away. How do you correct that?

This is a great app. I used to use cam scanner but after it got banned in india i found this one legitimate. I usually scan my office documents . The perfect part is i can scan add all the pages export it as pdf to my one drive account. Bingo. Thanks for the tutorial 👍

Hey Kevin, again a great video with new unknown stuff :). I was asking myself if Microsoft has a function to automatic read datas from documents and autofill this information in to excel or access. Like reading a buisness card and put it in my address book, or recognize a bill and readout Payment date, bill no or account datas into an excel or access sheet. I know there are programms on the market who can do this maybe you can give a hint on this one. Kind regards and keep going, its always a pleasure to watch your videos and learn something new
My scanner just gave out. This will save me until I can get another. Maybe I won’t need another, unless I want to catalog slides. Thank you for highlighting this app.

A great video. I've got a 22+ page document I have to scan and send to my realtor. Hope MS Lens works as well as you advertise. Here goes.

I just installed and tested Lens on Android (my wife installed on iPhone). I "scanned" a full page (black text on white paper) with the Flash ON, which caused a glare, but the "Whiteboard" filter cleaned it up. The "Reader" generated perfect text with no typos. My first test with no flash with the "Document" filter caused typos (mis-read text) in the Reader.

Kevin, do you have a solution for patient notes as part of Microsoft Office. A way to have multiple dates for the same patient and then multiple patients. I am sure Office has a solution other than just re-opening a file and filing in a date and note. Any help would be great.

I wish you could do a video for dummies - the folks at my office just need to know how to scan receipts to a pdf and email the pdf to themselves. With all these details, I can't send them this video to use as a guide because they'll give up. It's a great video though - for power users that understand all these bells and whistles.

I just use regular, degular Apple notes to scan multi page documents and have for years. It works great and then in the note I can add pictures and other things so they are in one place. I might try this too but I don’t see anything that this will do differently than the notes in my iPhone which will automatically show up on my laptop/ iPad etc.
Corrie, you may say "I will never leave Mac, iPhone, nor iPad", however give thoughts to long term Apple Notes use. There may come a time when you want or need switching platforms. Apple Notes and other Apple software have a major downside, they are not cross platform. For me, and many of my friends, that alone became major pain in the caboose. Of course one can log into their iCloud account from any platform, however it is a bandaid not a solution. The lack of proper cross platform capabilities is real and can become quite frustrating.
Hi Kevin. When I try to extract text using my iPhone, it snaps the photo of the document OK, and when I push Confirm, it briefly displays "Extracting data", but then displays "Invalid credentials". My searches say that recently, the desktop app was changed to require a special Lens login ID and that this is affecting the iPhone app as well because of the Apple ID. Any info you have would be appreciated.

Hi! Tks for your video, but I really have a problem with Lens. I scan A4 pages, for contracts, and Lens delivers a smaller page, a different format of the A4 I expected. How can I fix that?? I looked in Options/Settings and there is no way to have a standard A4 output. Does anyone know a good scanner for Android which delivers an exact A4 scanned page, when you scan an A4?

Yeah, you still have to take a photo of each page and you have to click on the + icon to add another page. I guess there could be a feature (i.e. bulk option) where you just lay out all your pages and then just snap them one after another to save some time.
