And you know following them I always was paid back later by others that I treated with respect and for being a Great Sportsman...And a comment on FFS the Professional Anglers from the 1980's thru 2000's became great because of going thru a "Learning Curve" which boils down to Two factors (Experience And Time) Which was an investment and commitment of years developing there craft. Now FFS blows a Hole thru that Learning Curve and instant success is Attained...No more years of learning...The only learning curve is to learn to cast to fish on a screen...Powering these Graphs with noise canceling cables and dedicated lithium batteries to obtain the clearest Ultrasound real time underwater view on there display unit.

  • IIRC, there's this thing called Rule of Responsibility in boating. I have seen boaters do some crazy stuff that defies that & even break the law. Some of those folks would be speeding even near kayakers when they are to yield to such ones (this includes sailboats, larger ships & freighters) since they have less control over their vessel. Plus, I see people being negligent where they get stuck on sandbars & similar places. At times they have to call a boat tow to get them out. These people are tempting fate at times.

While running in I noticed a guy fishing the right side point. Keep in mind he was close to the point and heading on into the slough. I thought that was perfect because I wanted to fish the left point any way. I was probably a cast and a half away from dry ground. I actually caught one on the second or third cast and needed another rubber bait. Guess what happens as I am digging another bait out. Yep! That guy immediately high speed trolls over in between me and the bank and simply starts fishing. OMG! I was so pissed but didn’t say anything. I have a bass tracker without that v haul and unless its really bad and i need good control of the boat ill trim up to raise the front end of the boat so its not banging on the water over and over. I didnt have time to trim down before hitting his wake, and my bow went straight up, and started tail walking for a second. The whole time i was pushing down on the trim. When the boat leveled out, i just got back on the throttle. I could see my co angler starring a hole through me. I finally looked over at him, and he yelled, "dont ever do that with me again!' i started laughing, and slowed to a stop. I explained what happened and he apologized, then we both got a laugh out of it. Truth is, alot if times we run WOT because we can. Not because someone is gonna be on our hole. I know how nerve racking it is riding with someone that throws caution to the wind. I dont tournament fish anymore, but i always keep in mind the guy setting next ti me. If hes death gripping the OH CRAP handlle, ill slow down and take it easier. Fishing is supposed to be fun.

  • You should see what it’s like in FL during snowbird season. Etiquette non-existent. People will drive within 10 feet of you right over where you’re fishing. I had three guys NY’ers almost hit my boat, cut me off and started fishing right in front me maybe 30 feet away. When I asked what the heck they were doing they said “they were fishing that spot all week.” Almost cast a Spook into their boat but took the Randy high road.

  • Tournaments should have a 300 yard rule when pulling into occupied areas when fishing and fishing the opposite direction.

    • I agree with you, but with as many bass fisherman I see nowadays on my local lakes, it's not often there's 300 yds of shoreline not occupied.

  • These are among the many reasons I abhor tournament fishing of any kind (and competitive trophy hunting). Competition should be between you and the fish, not among the anglers competing for prizes. Also, I would never have the gall to approach someone to ask permission to fish my favorite spot where they are already fishing.

  • I know you only fish grand, Loz and table rock but you should see mille lacs. I fish it twice a year but dude you got walleye anglers that troll within a few feet of the front of your boat and dont give af. I have a picture from one trip it hapoened. Now i was warned prior togoing the first time that its like that and its normal lol. Glad i rarely fish it and have the thousands of northern MN lakes to myself.

  • Not just bass boats Randy! I was 20’ off the bank fishing the bank and I had a 20’ pontoon at full speed pass between me and the bank. I about got thrown out of the boat.

  • I've watched a bunch of your videos some good content 👍👍👍 .. with that said I also get the impression that no one besides yourself is any good on the water ... Way to many negative videos about other fisherman ... If everyone on the water upsets you so much and makes you sick maybe you shouldn't be on the water putting yourself through the aggravation ...

  • It sucks getting cut off but what I'm hearing is that there may have been quite a few folks fishing without ffs. How I understand ffs is they are typically out I the middle fishing those areas. If folks are fishing the same spots as randy then I assume they're not using ffs. I may be wrong about this but it seems like there might be a silver lining being overlooked here.

  • Just in fun fishing, some have no etiquette. In today’s world most, not all, have the attitude of it’s all about ME, ME, ME. I wasn’t raised that way, thank goodness.

  • Yeah I quit fishing my local bass club as a non boater. These guys go out buy a $20k bass boat and have no idea what they're doing. Not putting my life in their hands anymore.

  • Telling your boater to slow down or you will call the tournament director will probably start a fist fight. Which is fine, most boaters that run that way can't fight anyway.

  • i think we all can agree...this is not about more/better boat training, not about fishing etiquette...this is simple courtesy, something that should have and was probably taught to everyone as a child...when and why have people abandoned this?...Randy, what is the underlying factor here and can you please do a quick vid on this lack of consideration for other people in the general sense?

  • Randy with all due respect, it seams that if things are not Randys way it’s no good. I understand your item 1 regarding driving. However your talking Pro Fishing and driving fast in an open lake area is the choice of the owner operator. I’ve ridden with many top pros as a Marshall and they drive how they drive. Pushing limits is about winning. Safety is important always, but an open lake is owners decision.
