Hello everyone! Today's video is a special one, as we celebrate the true meaning of peace at Lalande by celebrating the Orthodox Easter with a feast prepared by none other than Maria from Russia and Pavlina from Ukraine. They joined forces to create a truly spectacular feast for all of us here at Lalande.
Not only that, but we had some very special visitors - Davy was here to oversee the creation of the new part of the jardin a l'anglaise, and Amaury from the KZhead channel 'Castle ten Berghe' came to visit with his family. They were all a great help with the Easter preparations, and we had so much fun spending time with them.
However, there was one bit of news that cast a shadow over our festivities. Amaury and Nati announced that they would be moving out of the chateau, which was a really bittersweet moment for us all, it's going to be strange living at Lalande without them.

Lovely to see a clean shaven Amaury although he really suits a beard. I'm glad Amaury and Nati are moving on in their relationship. This move shows that they feel right for each other and they are looking towards the future. I wish them lots of luck and love.

Hahah right? I think Amaury is in the middle of some projects still so that would be terrifying if he just left.
@@kgal1298 I don't think they're leaving their jobs, just the accommodations. Amaury will still be aiding Stephanie in the wall rebuild, the radiator covers, the grand salon paneling, working with the heating contractors, etc. Nattie will continue to manage the bed and breakfast. I hope they are happy living in their own space. Who knows, they might even have a baby or two. What happened to Ian the Builder? What is the status of Nattie's apartment? Where have they been staying up until now? I don't think I've ever seen that space. I'm not sure where Pavlina stays or any of the other volunteers for that matter. The toile de Jouy room is where Kat and Dan have stayed. Where did everyone stay Easter weekend? There was a full house.
Such a relief Amaury and Nati will continue to work at the chateau. Good luck to them.

I was thinking that too. He has been pushing incredibly hard for a long, long time and I was wondering when he might reach a kind of burnout enough to make such a change. I think it gets pretty intense for Natti as well during the B and B season. Living elsewhere nearby will definitely make it easier for them to be able to have more clear boundaries between their personal free time and work more ordinary hours rather than so much over time which they appear to end up putting in.

It and Gerry's apartment were on hold because that backside of the workyard had doors and windows that need to be updated.
I think they have been waiting for approval of the facade on the back - with the new window and door arrangements from what was going to be “Nati’s apartment”. Then the structural emergency issues with the ceiling of the Grande Salon and walls in the rooms above plus the Chapel - have put the creation of that apartment on the back burner for now. Sounds like Nati & Amaury we’re looking for more work/life balance anyway in finding a separate home, so perhaps it worked out for the best.

It will still eventually make a lovely apartment to rent or use for visiting family and friends, like Michael’s and Isabelle’s are! The chateau was so full-up for Easter that Davey didn’t come on the day, right? And perhaps there will be other live-in workers in the future, especially for BnB season, like Maria is doing, and separate apartments like that can help with work-life balance, even when living and working on property!

Such beautiful traditions, what I love most about LaLande is that all the lovely people ( who feel like friends) share their traditions from their countries . Aww well, no surprise they are leaving, as couplings tend to want their own 'nest'. Love Maria's humour! Perusing some of the originals vlogs, Nati used to be such a consistent and vibrant personality in those videos (along with Marie Wiik) and Nati's hardly in them now. The chateau vlogs had a different singleton kind of vibe with all the different people coming in and out compared to today's--so many of the original 'characters' have moved on to other things and even their own channels. Seasons change, c'est la vie!

I'm assuming that it's the camera's that they want b to get away from, well one of the reasons ❤ what t is happening to the accommodation that was being built for them at the chateau, nice financial investment though renting it out to the b and b traffic.

What a wonderful Easter CelebrationI I loved the Easter tree decoration and the natural dyes to color the eggs, the children had a great time decorating and the eggs turned out to be beautiful. It´s great to see the different traditions, Pavlina and the colorful and pretty headbands, María cooking all these different dishes and preparing delicious cheeses and some fun with the egg cracking game. It´s lovely to see that community feeling! My best wishes to Amaury and Naty!! I'm sure they will be very happy in their own nest! And it´s not a goodbye, only a "see you later". it's a joy to see your videos!!😊

I can understand that Amaury and Nati are wanting their own space. They will be seen from time to time, I imagine although not as often. Work life balance and privacy is important
In Romania, when you crack the eggs, the person that hits says ''Hristos a Inviat'' (Christ is risen) and the other person answers ''Adevarat a Inviat'',(True, He is Risen). The majority of people here celebrate Orthodox Easter.

Oh my gosh….I am very happy for Amaury and Natie!!!! I must admit to a teary moment but it is the right thing to do at the right time. Amaury said it, the demands of their jobs at the chateau can overlap their personal time excessively and it must be a problem in the long run. I am MOST HAPPY they found one another-it is SUCH a blessing!😊

Oh man, I remember doing a freebie Dutch lesson from Babbel and their translation of 'petting' (a cat/dog/etc.) was 'strelen'. The only person who's petting his cat in a way I'd translate as strelen is a Bond villain, regular people show their pets affection by 'aaien'

Have been infatuated by The Chateau Diaries for years, through so many seasons, celebrations, triumphs and occasional sadness as life unfolds at that beautiful gathering place. Thank you for hours of vicarious enjoyment. We always know we will feel better after a “visit”. Such a delight that there’s never a cross word, never a grumpy disposition. Stephanie, your radiant charm is infectious, and you attract like minds to you. I have a suggestion: You always seem to enjoy when people “beep beep” as they cross over the bridge to depart the chateau. I notice in today’s video, I believe Philip says ‘beep beep’ but Amoury and Nati didn’t honk. You might consider putting a little sign by the side of the bridge, something like “Hurry back! Please honk your goodbye!”
