Though in a totally different trade, I think the best instructors are those who make whatever they teach look like child's play - but not without making sure pupils understand its seriousness and importance. You sir, are definitely one of those! Congrats from Brazil.
Dope music. Told my new hire to watch this video and I’ll be damned 20 min in the seat after watching this video and youda thought he’d been operating for years. Y’all don’t realize how much time y’all saved me, AND MONEY lol.
That’s awesome! Glad we could help!
Thanks sir👏
I'm officially on my heavy equipment certification course now and watching these videos in advance is basically all you need to know. Other than that it's really all about seat time and being safe and tidy. Great videos.
What week are you in... tomorrow is the last day of my first week
@@simonsays2162 I'm actually on hiatus because they fired my instructor during covid lockdown...
Update: I graduated. Thanks Heavy Metal Learning for your guidance.
How is the work life…? Update?
@@TsparksBoxingEnt Well... I'm a Canadian and things aren't so easy. See, you don't actually need a certification to operate heavy equipment in Canada legally. Though, for many employers they will want a certification for insurance reasons. That being said, if you graduate with a certificate and seek employment, most employers will just laugh at you because they want someone with years of experience. Pro tips for Canadian HEO grads (with dozer, excavator and backhoe/loader and maybe also grader) you will want to join the union. You will want to contact the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 in order to join. If you don't have any experience you will be required to take an intensive course that lasts several months subsidized value of $57000 (of which you will pay only about $2000 WHICH INCLUDES ROOM AND BOARD, very worth it) . Why would you do this? Because when the course is done you will be assigned to a job or various jobs right out of the gate, getting paid much higher than an entry level position. You will get your seat time in a safe a professional manner and you may even be offered a permanent position from this. If you don't mind this lifestyle you can continue to work through the union but realize that you will be traveling and doing what is referred to as being a "job gypsy". Technically not PC but a pretty accurate description of the lifestyle. It pays better than standing still so if you don't have kids or a wife this might be ideal. Great for younger guys and could give you the money you need to start a company of your own. I hope this wasn't too much of an update. There really is no yellow brick road to follow for the operating engineer...
20 year old will watch this and then get hired on the pipeline talking about “I’ve been digging for 10 years”
Good for them!
Then they will sit in the machine and they guys will instantly know they were talking 💩 and be off hire before tea break lol
This video really helped me grasp the need-to-know skills and calmed me down for my first test. Thank you for the great video. Edit: I am now a certified excavator operator. I don't think I could have done it without the help of this channel. My biggest thanks go out to those involved in this channel! Edit: I am no longer a certified excavator operator. I was involved in a workplace accident where I failed to complete a pre-start check and the hydraulic systems failed. There was a fellow co-worker under the bucket, and the arm failed and dropped on Steve. H&R said his death was quick and painless considering the 2-ton weight of the arm and bucket. He was turned to paste faster than you could say "pre-safety check"! R.I.P Steevo, never forgotten. Edit: I am editing this from a public library computer to inform you that I am now homeless and drowning in lawsuits. That's a shame, but with the knowledge this channel has given me, I now I can always reapply at another excavator operation center and rebuild my name.
Poor Steve 😂
Stop
😂
You should have NEVER been certified with that kind of mistake I hope you are not rectified to kill another person
I hope you are not rehired you should never have been certified
I have been thinking to dig the pond / lake by myself. I was worried before I watched this video. I am happy to be able to see how this machine works. I am feeling great!. I am not worried anymore , in fact, I am excited to look for the training course nearby. Thank you so much !!!
Great training video, the safety side of things is really good, I have been in different environments driving excavators, and some situations can really make you sweat !. If your track throws off on the side of a mountain or your bog matts are disappearing, and you have to look for the escape route, there's nothing like experience when it comes to learning!. Every day is learning and thinking safety!. Cheers!
I'm learning a new job where I finally have the opportunity to get in an excavator and I've been having trouble translating what I want to do to my hands. This helped immensely and I feel better equipped to learn. Thanks so much.
My boss got an excavator for me to use on Monday and said if I do a good job I can use the excavator full time! I have some experience, I worked for a rock splitting company in high school. My dream has always been to drive a nice Mitsubishi 10 ton in an open quarry! Wish me luck guys :)
cool
Good luck bro
Hope everything went well for ya
Been an excavator operator for 6 years now. This a pretty good refresher.
My first training. Simple and clear thank you...
I am about to be a member of the IOUE and I am super green to the industry these have been a massive help getting ready to embark in this new journey!
How's it going after a year now?
@@ramadanrezkalla147 absolutely love it. Learning so much and I couldn't be happier in this move.
We've got some earthworks going on at our farm this week, and the excavator operator offered to let me try it tomorrow. I feel like a kid with the anticipation 😂. Thanks from Down Under for the lesson!
A basic and simple video, a starting point. I watched a guy tear down a house with an excavator, it was if the machine was an extension of his hands.
Thank you for making an updated one - and without background music throughout the video like the old one. The background music was too distracting for me on the old video, this video was awesome, thank you very much.
Thanks for video helping me understand the controls and hazards of the excavator when I'm able to hop on them at work
Now i can destroy my friend's house🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
Why do you want to do that??
@@sssaeedssahz.1434 he probably doesn't like his friend

Man, this is a great video. I’ve always wanted to operate a big machine like this. I’m sure some day I will. Thanks for the first lesson!
Great video, got my first chance at operating an excavator today… came home and found this video, it’s great, thank you. Even though you’re an experienced operator you can explain the points in the lesson to a novice. All valuable information for me. Keep up the good work.
For the past 2 years, I just got chance to watch it today and its really nice. Thanks
I just wanted to say THANK YOU! for these videos. It’s been the biggest help to me. I’ve probably watch it at least several times before I actually got in the machine. So once again thanks.

Watching videos so I can learn a skill besides driving a semi (driving for 4 years). Great video.
Wow what a simple and straightforward lesson, thank you very much
Digging is a form of art.
I have some experience with heavy machinery (mostly trucks) and I've often looked at excavators and wondered if I could operate one. Whenever I have watched guys using them I've thought to myself "I could never get the coordination right on that bucket" - but after watching this video I really think I could do it. Now I just need the opportunity to try! Thank you for presenting this in an easy to understand way for absolute beginners like me.

Fantastic video, you are very calm and explained all the basics in detail. on the jobsite it's hard to hear over the everyday hustle exactly what is being taught.
The intro song really caught me off guard. Thanks for the lessons!
Thanks so much for this channel.. I've learnt a whole lot, still trying to motivate myself in getting the actual certification.

Thank you very very much for your beautiful training 👍💝
This is a good training sesión I can learn about heavy machinery and práctice English at the same time Greetings from Bolivia Ps. Forgive my writing mistakes, I'm learning English by myself
Great video. Lots of eye hand coordination to acquire the skill necessary to successfully operate this piece of equipment. Thanks for making the video.
Excellent video, I really appreciate you guys sharing this knowledge. I've been on job sites for a few years and I really want to get into an excavator. Where I am, the hardest thing is getting someone to give you a start. I really wish there was a place I could pay for training and time on an excavator in my hometown. Unfortunately, in the Capital city of Australia, there's not one. The nearest is three hours drive away. I emailed them for schedules and prices, but never received a reply. I've been on job sites for a few years and I really want to get into an excavator. The hardest thing is getting someone to give you a start.
Did you find something?
Any update?

My son rented a Deere 210 to excavate for his new home and I asked if I could play with it. I had never been in the seat of an excavator and I had the best time for about an hour learning the controls. At 63 years old I would love some advice on how to break into this working for someone else of course. Great great videos.
This was so densely informative.
I love these videos! I plan to get my 2a1c here in Mass as soon as I financially can. Operating equipment has been my #1 dream job. I ended up as an electrician but hope to get my license and to get my license asap. Maybe I can convince my boss to pay me to dig our own trenches. 😉 Anyway, do you have any videos, or could you make a clip on to how to operate a tilt rotator? Maybe different brands such as Steel Wrist? I imagine they are all the same but I have searched and haven't found info on tilt rotator attachments. Thanks!
Awesome to hear. We don’t have any vids in tilt rotors but hoping to do some in the future.
Thank you for your well explanation.
Great instruction...always wanted to drive one of these!..
Good tutorial! Thinking about going to a trade school and taking heavy equipment
