    • That's a nice point despite only 5 matches played, a bit early to call though but I get your point. The big 3 timeline of tennis is so intricately intertwined and expansive that it's easy to forget just how many chapters there were for each player in each of their matchups throughout their careers. Even if it is losses that might look dominant on a given surface, it just doesn't paint the picture of what a near 15 year all out gladiatorial battle there was on every surface. However tennis fans all over from whatever side of the GOAT conversation should be in absolute awe of Alcaraz. Honestly and truly we have waited since 2008 (at which point the 'Big 4' were established as the sure as ever mainstays of the competition for the following decade) for anyone borne from the 'big 4' ilk to rise to the top (with the much deserved appreciation of Wawrinka who's peak form equally deserves appreciation in this era)

And still Djokovic outlasted him, mainly because he was constantly on the attack, moving Carlos left to right, relentless in dictating the pace and placement, the only way to beat Alcaraz.
