I’m a first-time Apple Watch user and wore the Series 9 for a week to see if it could help me spend less time scrolling on my iPhone and more time practicing self-care.

Thank you so much for watching! Do you have any recommendations for reducing my screen time? 📱⏰
This is my same experience with the watch, you can live without it, but the convenience of information without the iphone and the encouragement to exercise really helps
Sleep feature should be auto detect. That's why I dumped apple watch and changed to garmin
Apple Watch sleep tracking sucks generally. Even in a sleep focus, it doesn’t record sleep tracking. The biggest fail is when it stops tracking after the alarm goes off.
8:23 is a genius idea. I have a Z Fold 4 and can do this with the outer screen fold out, but it is kind of awkward with a mini tablet.
0:16 And a neat flannel picnic blanket 😍
Very good video. Always have been looking for a video from a true novice with the watch but a Pro with the iPhone. This is a real-life look into the learning curve of the watch. Keep up the great work! 11 hours screen time 🤦🏽♂
Curious to see how you like the new watch band you purchased. I also have a very small wrist and looking for a more fashionable option.
One of my favorite devices for sure. Love my Apple Watch SE!
That's some next level screen time. I think I've done too much when I hit 5 hours lol!
8:05 Yup. Love that song. Overall, Apple Watch is a great addition to many people’s lives. If you don’t care about the features, cost is barrier or don’t want another device to manage/charge, then yeah skip the Watch. But if you’re interested in ANY of the conveniences it affords you, then having Apple Watch is a must. I think the ecosystem perks are well worth it, especially if in a rare case your iPhone is lost/stolen, or you’re in an emergency, having a tightly connected device would be clutch. Ultra 1/enthusiast here ❤
I dumped my Apple Watch Ultra after 12 months and went back to a mechanical wristwatch. It was good at first, but with every update it seemed to have more alerts and the user interface became more complicated. I miss having the weather and my calendar, but that’s it. The other features just felt like noise.
after years of using smartwatches I finally grew tired of them and went back to a daily beater GShock with tough solar and multiband 6 I don't even need to think about it, it just works, charges with light and keeps time very accurately. damn I grew old
I found myself using my Galaxy Watch 4 more than my phone ever since I got it. As for texting, try using the voice to text feature, if the Apple watch has that.
Apple Watch definitely has the voice to text feature 🙂
I think that's what she used. She used Dictation, which is the default voice-to-text feature on the Apple Watch. Only then did she use the keyboard swipe feature.
I hate apple watch! But dont get me wrong, its the best smart watch out there! Ive used series 5 but sold it after 2 months of use! then i bought the series 8 and again sold it after 1 month! i didnt find much use of it! I dont use it for workout because i dont like wearing it while exercising! and i dont like typing or talking on it! Smart watches arent for me!
I’ve never thought about getting an Apple Watch but after seeing your video, now I’m interested in getting one. Great job on the video!
Love your video - very honest and that's appreciated. Your video also triggered an idea I have for Apple: allow some apps to be scheduled not work at specific times during the day to help limit habitual (and mindless) viewing of addictive apps like IG & TikTok.
That is possible in the screentime and focus app, you can set some apps to appear only at certain focus modes and how many hours to use, ive set a limit of 1 hour to instagram and Twitter, thank god i dont use tiktok
@@jeanbutinfrench Great tip - thank you!
I had an Apple Watch since series 2. I can live without it definitely but I miss it so much every time I accidentally leave it home
Very nicely done
Siri: “No sleep data for yesterday was found” Me: “I forgot to sleep!” 😨
I’ve had an Apple Watch for a year. It’s good. Negatives include no Notes integration. I don’t understand that, as Notes is the center of the eco system. Siri isn’t as good on the Apple Watch.
all the points u made are the reasons I just returned the watch and used the phone instead
Has anyone noticed that CNET never responds to comments or gives a heart? I've noticed it lately, it tells me they don't care about feedback on their videos. The vocal fry has never been addressed either.
We do it all the time
@@CNET yea i disagree... I watch just about all of your videos and it's rare for you all to interact with your viewers.
For me, sleep tracking happens automatically, just wear it and sleep, and it just works.
The Apple Watch can be a fantastic tool for limiting time on your phone. Just don’t install all of your unnecessary apps on there. In my opinion, the additional benefits to the Apple Watch are the health fall detection crash detection features.
Wow, 11 hours. I myself am over 5 which strikes me as too much
It would be better to disconnect these devices and give your brain a break. Then you can control when and where your interactions occur. Voicemail has been invented. 😁. Use it.

The activity notification is both a blessing and a curse. The expectations of fitness every single day isn’t healthy for most people. If I go run a marathon today, I shouldn’t have to work out 30 minutes the next day. there should be some sort of cumulative weekly exercise goal otherwise you’re encouraging people to develop unhealthy habits, and risk the possibility of injury, just my opinion.
A simple 30 min walk will close the exercise ring - it is about having a healthy habit of doing something active for 30 min every day - it does not have to be stressful on your body - walking is something that can and should be done daily - while running, lifting weights etc. are not meant to be done daily. It is trying to encourage healthy habits.
Adorable!
No!! I found I use my iPhone more using an AW.
nope so i stopped using mine
4ever
11 hours of screen time a day and for some reason she's struggling to fall asleep.
Waste of money. I finally got one 6 months ago and regret it. For the functions I actually use it for were available in a cheap Fitbit w battery life that last over a wk. I hate how you need to daily charge the Apple Watch.
It's another expensive device that needs to be charged every day. It may be useful, but you may have to pay more attention..
That's my opinion as well. it's another expensive dio to charge, and take care of when the "honey-moon" stage is over. Great for some people, but not for everyone.
This is that Apple Watch is may be OK.
Charging every day is too much of a hassle
But charging your phone every day is not too much of a hassle?
Well, ya got me there😋
4:29 In 2024 I see that view and see car windows being busted for what’s inside…
Is this a gen-z problem?
You need to go a full week without your iPhone, ipad, macbook, etc. This is a heroin level addiction
She seems like a very nice person but has a legitimately serious addiction and doesn't seem to take it seriously.
