I have been using an Apple Watch for over 4 years and in that time I have learned ways to optimise my watch. Today I will show you the most impactful setting and features on battery life, so you can decide which to keep and which to change. The goal is to keep on features you care about and to turn off what you don’t need, to stop battery life from going to waste. And I can tell you right away, there is a lot that is on running in the background of your Apple Watch taking power, that really doesn’t need to. Trust me this video is worth watching as it will help you optimise and get more out of your Apple Watch!

  • I have the Ultra 2 and I love it. However, the learining curve from apple devices is never the same. If you start with an older iPhone, the go to a newer one, there is a curve. Then when you go to an iPad, there is newer and bigger curve. Now when you go from the iPad to the Mac, the learning curve doubles (this is the same if you go from a PC to a Mac). Now I hve found that the curve to the Ultra2 watch is harder because there isn't a help screen to walk you through and even in the watch app, it is hard to find all the solutions EIther way, I love my Ultra2 and MacBookAIr M2 chip. Great technology! Love your videos.

  • Hello Dion, I just got the Apple watch SE2 and it only would pair to my Iphone 11 if I updated to IOS17. So, I updated my phone to IOS17 but since then, I have noticed that my Iphone battery drains a lot faster, even though the batttery health and charging capacity is still at 100%. I have turned off many features on my watch and phone. Is it normal that the Iphone battery goes down faster when paired to a watch?

    @ChristineB9046@ChristineB90465 ай бұрын
    • Hi Christine, there are two parts to it. It connects with your Iphone so it needs bluetooth which requires some battery (the last part of your question). Software updates bring new features and in general require more battery. Normally that is addressed in later updates (IOS 17.1 etc). You can wait it out or reset your phone. At times that does the trick. Sorry for the late reply. Happy Holidays, Dion

  • I just subscribed to your KZhead Channel and was looking for a video on the different Apple Chargers and Cables and couldn't find one. As a matter of fact, not very much useful information available that is understandable for us non tech savoy senior citizens. You might want to offer information on these issues, i.e. is it ok to charge an Apple Watch with a MacBook 87 Watt Charger? A video explaining what the different chargers do and what you can and cannot use them with would be very helpful for an old geezer like myself. Also, indicating the differences between the cables i.e. USB, USB Type-A, Type-B, Mini, etc. It's very confusing to say the least. Also which cables work properly, i.e. Apple Brand or Ankler or some other off brand. Thank you in advance for considering my request. I wasn't sure what would be the best way to contact you. Happy Holidays!

  • @jemwell My favorite Apple Watch feature is its ability to track fitness related metrics. Before having one I used to hold my Iphone with me on one hand to count my steps. • This is good info... You pointed out a couple of battery savers that I had never thought about (particularly the complications data). However, it seems to me that you missed out the most important one: WiFi. So long as your iPhone is withing bluetooth range, WiFi is really useless. On one my old watches with an waning battery, the one simple change of turning off WiFi double my battery life. Instead of having it shut down for lack of battery in late afternoon, it was able to still have 40% left at bedtime. BUT... if you like to use your watch to unlock your Mac, then this feature won't work if you turn off WiFi.

  • @pug_63 My favourite feature is the storage, for music and podcasts. It’s great being able to leave my phone at home when I take the dogs for a walk. Also a big fan of the fast charging. I use my watch for sleep tracking, so it just goes on the charger during my morning routine. Thanks, as always, for the content!

  • consensus on reddit was that "always on" hardly uses battery life at all when used without the "activate on turning wrist" but only with "tap to activate". It's supposed to be much better then not using always on but the watch activating itself all the time through wrist movement.

  • @tom._.hagen I'm totally hooked on the Infograph watch face on the Apple Watch. It packs in a ton of useful info, and I gotta say, it looks pretty aesthetic too. And those activity rings are awesome at keeping me motivated to stay fit

  • U buy a watch so it works with all things turn on. Not to turn things off. That people make vids about it is mind boggling. Just to justify companies as apple and Samsung for there overpriced watches.

  • @stephennerus I've never really used an apple watch but i will try all of these out once I get one I wish to own an iPhone 15 cause I'm an aspiring film maker and content creator as well.. It will be nice to upgrade from 6s to the 15 for a better image and video quality, the ability to shoot 4k/60, a 48 mega pixel sensor and the a16 bionic chip with it new features would be much of any upgrade coming from a smaller 12mp sensor with low res and bad battery life, it will be so nice to experience all the features the ios 16 offers. And I'd be grateful if I get to own one
