  • Most of these being relays is understandable... the first 800m comeback might have been strategy or confidence but as the lone solo event comeback it's the most impressive of the five here.

    • But it is the qualifiers. Not the final or something. The other 2 girls there can finish in 2nd or 3rd. Nobody cares..

    • She didn't completely comeback in that one though. The other girl's arm crosses before her head, but they just gave it to her anyways. Still impressive, but you can see in the photo she comes up just short and should of been awarded second.

    • Yes, but the time is taken from the chest or shoulder. I'm not an expert, but I know it is not taken from head or leg or hip etc.

  • A "comeback" is when a leader is passed and looks beaten, then rallies to win. An athlete simply coming from the back of the field to snatch victory is NOT a "comeback".

    • A comeback not of the athlete but of the team.

      @joostprins3381@joostprins33812 ай бұрын
    • @@joostprins3381 The concept of a team "comeback" does not apply. A relay team can be 'loaded' to put the best, race-winning runner in the last leg. It's planned and expected that the last leg will win it for the team.
