You2!
I guess u are a bts fan right ??
Hi
Just tried flipping onto the hammock for the first time and realized I have zero upper body strength 😂
I was the same tho. Why does it feel so hard when everyone else makes it look so easy! Now it is starting to feel easier!
@@aerialpractice - how many sessions did it take for you to develop upper body strength?
I've done aerial for a year and it took me about a month to be able to do a flip well but if you keep practicing, your core strength improves a lot
Same
@@jess7539 ok thx 😊
Your videos are easy to follow for a beginner like myself, I'm glad you will be uploading more frequently.
Wonderful to hear Sarah! Our mission is to show that it is possible for any level can practice aerial, no matter how challenging it might seem! I love focusing on doing the basics really well, stay fit from practicing, and sharing to you!
I love how you move slowly and I can see all angles of the pose, thank you so much! :)
You are welcome! I find it always really hard to see what happens and get lost. So i started making videos this way. Then I find that doing it really slow and control help me to improve super fast!
Love the bloopers at the end🙃
Definitely not perfect hahah! Always need to return again when it comes to spinning.. so easy to get stuck literary haha!
I love that this is advertised as beginner and ACTUALLY is. So many I see seem to be beginner compared to pro level but are still too advanced for hobby aerialists. THANKS ❤️
Right? I feel the same! Aerial dance can be fun without doing crazy drops or tricks too!
Thank you for giving us a slow and steady approach. That’s a sign of a great teacher
Thank you too!
Excited! Cant wait to check out the tricks!
Hope you enjoy it Walter!
😂 haha I may bring down the ceiling with me😂😂😂
hahahhaha that would not be too easy to do!
@@aerialpractice mam I am 48-50 kgs I guess so there's a chance then right!?😂
@@anoushkaparida9565 I am not any lighter than that hahahaha
Love these!!
Thank you so much!
Ah thank you so much!!! Ive just gotten my sling since i cant go to a studio and needed inspiration that using it on 8ft ceilings is possible haha♡ These are amazing and super helpful!! 🙌🏻
You're so welcome! Of course it is not ideal but some practice is better than zero practice. Happy to help!
Hi! I am self thought in aerial silk and I find these videos very helpful! I am a competitive dancer but only do silk as a hobby, but it’s super fun!
Having a dance background must be so helpful to get you started? I wish I had too but working hard to not look like a crab haah! Don' t forget to think of safety first! what are u working on now?
Thanks!
Wow thank you so much this was amazing!
Glad you liked it!!! Hammock conditioning coming tomorrow!!
I know I’m a bit late, but I wanted to say: Thank u soooo much for making this! I just recently got my Ariel silk Hammock and have been looking for videos like this! Most of the videos are for the 2 long long ones that aren’t attached. ❤️ So thank u so much!
Never too late! The two seperated ends are aerial silks, which might be more popular in some area. My favorite is hammock and sling, so this channel exists for those who are also a fan!
Hi. Which hammock have u purchased? I m too confused seeing so many options available on Amazon. Can u help by providing info on the brand u purchased, the cost and how is ur experience with it.
Thank you for this video 💗
Happy you enjoy it! Hope you find the other hammock videos useful too. let me know which is your favorite =)
Love it
I LIVE for these videos
HAHA thank you Mary! Plenty more to discover! we post 2 videos a week and already made 120.
Very nice streching
Amazing video very clear thank you
Glad you liked it!
KEEP GOING!: I practiced on my new hammock for the first time yesterday. Naturally I did majority of these moves and I was shocked. I have no prior experience just minimal pole training. You definitely utilize all of your muscle groups and it makes you more aware of your body placement. If you aren’t already practicing yoga, workouts, or any sort of conditioning START NOW. It’s not for the weak and you will be uncomfortable I’m telling you. I almost cut off circulation to my legs while attempting a drop because I underestimated how much upper body and core strength was required. 😂😂😂 Have fun, be careful
Agree! thanks for sharing this message and welcome to the fam!
Thank you so much, i needed a new hobby and i think that i founded 1! Thank you so much! You really convinced me to do Aerial Hammock, thank you for that, I'm very grateful!
I'm so glad! Fly safe! let me know if you need support.
Enjoyed watching this video. Makes it easier. Thanks
Glad it helped! Thank you so much for using Super thanks
thank you so much! Your videos are so easy to understand and I appreciate how slow you talk(:
Glad you like them! Susie. If I speak faster I can definitely cover more info haha because it is definitely challenging to do the movement in slow moment. But covering more info doesnt mean it will all get communicated across, so I feel the best way is to reiterate with more and better content!
This looks so amazing and inspiring! I need to work on my core strength and this definitely looks like a way to do it!
the hoop you mean? check out my shop!
This helped me alot for my first try thank you x
Glad to hear! I am also planning to do basic videos for sling and silks, maybe useful for you?

Go for it! You can do it!
Wow, cool! I'm really happy I found you. Very useful lesson and you are so good... I would like to try it too, do you have any suggestions about which mat is the best to train at home?
I use 2 mats! One is my large pogamat, love using it for stretching even with a partner, for aerial I normally use that one too. But if i am taking a lessons or practicing new tricks, i would also add an extra crash mat to be safe. Hope this helps! You can find links in the descriptions of my newer videos =)
I just got one of these and want to try some crazy stuff thank you!
what kind of crazy stuff?
@@aerialpractice I want to do easy poses, that can take you high and maybe do flipping? I just can't do drops because my hammock is outside and way to low. :D

Wow this is a amazing tutorial! You do everything so seamless (the opposite of me)
You can do it!!! Welcome to practice together =)
Nice tutorial :) I am happy to get the first one correct ;) The other tricks are bit to much for the first week with my aerial hammock - it hurts a bit. I am convinced to get this tricks within some time.
Thank you Andrea! Maybe easier to check out the first time video first? It took me a long time to understand this but the pain is a signal of weakness. You will get used to it because you will get stronger! So if your thighs are hurting, focus on doing leg conditioning exercises and engaging your muscles for the movement, you will feel a huge difference.

Very nice.. you make it seem easy 😊😊
The key is trick your mind to think easy and your body will follow! hahah its a great compliment because it does not feel easy to me since I am a beginner also haha! I am always very nervous before filming, worried that I would mess up or cant keep going. I have learned to trick my mind by thinking: This is gonna be in the internet forever so let's try REAL hard !

Can you do a video on how to tie it up like it was when you were on the ground in the warmup
Hello!! Love you videos! I've been watching lots of aerial practice with hammocks and I noticed that there are two types of hammocks. Do you know if I can do the same tricks you show in this video with a hammock with slings?? Thank you so much!
Absolutely. I like to think of hammock tricks as the basic of slings. Once I get a hang of a trick, I will always try it with spinning. The only problem is I practice in a low ceiling environment so i have to adjust to the limitation.
I share exactly on this topic in today's new video! =) Check it out in a few hours
@@aerialpractice Great, I'll watch it. Thanks a lot! :)
Ever since i started yoga i have been getting yoga adds ✌️🤓

I really appreciated the bloopers at the end.😂 I'm beginning to do aerial stuff and ever time I see perfect moves in youtube videos and then compare with what I do...embarassing😂

thanks for the video! what does the other hanger behind you called?
do you mean by gym rings?
@@aerialpractice yes thankyou !!
Question! Do you start on 2 ceiling hooks to stay stationary, and then you add a piece so it can spin?? If so what did you add? Also do you know if the hooks can be installed on popcorn ceilings? I really want to get one!
it's a swivel. Just not able to spin with it if its hung with 2 points. so i do both, without the swivel is slightly easier.
Oooh okay thank you 🙏🏼
Could you show us basic Restorative Aerial practices too in another video
I'm glad i watched. This will be a challenge but i've been looking in to taking a class. Thanks for sharing. I don't think my ceilings are strong enough for me to install something.
A fun challenge! Taking classes are fun!!
Could you maybe make a video on tips to improve technique and execution?
I just wrote one! To look more like a pro even as beginners. cant wait to share!
Oh it's amazing. I'm planning to buy one but I got a question (perhaps a dumb one but my knowledge in this área is 0) : Is a yoga swing the same as a yoga hammock? I've seen that they are sold as two different things, the swing having more supports and handles, are they the same? Can I remove the handles to create this kind of hammock? Please help
Hello Karina. I have never tried yoga swing before. It looks like yoga swing just has a lot of extra supports to make it easier to handle. I use my hammock for aerial dance =)!
@@aerialpractice thanks for answering. I took a look at your chanel, it's amazing, keep the good work!
Hi i would like to ask where is your Ariel silk from im looking in to buying one!
Hi Callie, you can find it in my shop page:aerialpractice.com/shop/
Do I need rotators for it to spin or can I use what comes in a regular kit? Which is basically all the tools u used in the first parts of the video when it wasn’t spinning.
Yes you need a swivel for spinning. You can hear more here:aerialpractice.com/articles/aerial-products/get-more-space-for-aerial-sling-in-low-ceilings/
@@aerialpractice Thank you…I would like to install one at home and perhaps try outdoors as well (Tree, rig, etc). What exactly would I need to purchase to ensure I have all that I need for this. I love your videos by the way💕
I have a yoga hammock but it dont stretch where can i get this?
Try these ones: amzn.to/36N7QF8 amzn.to/3dnRPbo
Hi. how much should b the distance between two ceiling hooks if i hv to fix this hammock?
Depends on what you want to use it for. I believe I have them 50cm apart of aerial dance.
I have a question Do you have to be a specific weight in order to do aerial hammock? Like so you don’t break it or something?
Hi Yasily, Absolutely NOT. I have seen really curvy girls in classes too, I have also practiced duo hoop before. Aerial setup is meant to carry around 2000lb, of course the exact number differs per set up.
I just got one for Christmas when my parents swore they wouldn’t get me one! I’m no excited to try some of these!
Thats so amazing! Plenty of fun stuff to try.
Hi👋 could you please recommend brands & websites for purchasing hammocks? What are the specific details, fabric, size, ect for best quality hammocks? Thank you

Hiiii after this current situation I really want to try aerial silks but this video has interested me and I’m wondering if you can do routines with aerial hammock too as it seems like it might be something more accessible. Thanks 😊
Yes! Currently I have two mini routines in the channel and I am working on one with foot lock. Let me share with you the link.

thankyouuuu so much! You do everything so beautifully. If possible how high is your ceiling? Also how tall are you because I might not have enough space please. Finally and sorry to bother you can you learn everything from a beginner as in get an aerial hammock at home and not go to a class before?
@@aerialpractice I wrote a comment down below thanks keep safe
@@ellielouise810 You are so kind! Definitely lots of area to improve it. My ceiling is about 2.6M (i wish i was taller), I am 170cm (5'7), I often run into the problem of not having enough space, but my goal is to work with what i have as safe as possible. Some practice over no practice.
Thank you for the video. My 6 year wants to start practicing...is there a yoga hammock for kids?
From what I know there isnt a special one for kids. I would definitely visit a teacher to get started to be safe!
aerialpractice thank you
I have 4 friends under the age of 10 and they all use them and they just use the brand “f.life” from amazon
The 6 year olds I babysit for use my aerial hammock just fine, just gotta make sure the hammock is folded in in a way that's comfortable for them. The main kid I babysit for uses it folded wider than I do because it feels more secure. I wouldn't be worried about the size, apart from making sure it's not too long to use in your practice area. My current practice one is short enough to attach it to a swing set, but therefore too short to climb very far up it. I hope to get a longer one soon, but that's been nice for working with kids on it. The one I got also comes with handle straps you can clip on or take off, and those handles were really helpful for the kids when they were starting out and building their strength and confidence. It gave them something secure to hold onto and pull themselves up by when they were first learning to trust the sling and themselves, and once they were confident they ditched them - just like training wheels on a bike. This is the sling I currently use, and I've had kids and adults 6+ of all sizes use it with no problems, again you just have to find what's comfortable as far as how it's folded over. www.amazon.com/EverKing-Aerial-Yoga-Swing-Antigravity/dp/B077TJHJXS In case this might be useful to anyone else, I tell the kids that there are a few rules to being allowed to use the aerial sling: 1. Stretch first 2. No shoes 3. Learn to use it properly - learn and use proper forms and be aware of what you're doing while you're on it Aerial yoga and dance can be so much fun, but if you don't follow those three rules, no matter what age you are, you can hurt yourself. And every time a child has told me that not following one of those rules wouldn't mean they would hurt themself - guess what? They hurt themself. And learned that I have those 3 rules for a reason.
Do you have a single or double point for the spinning?
I have double point for hammock, and single point for sling(spinning). You can learn more about my equipment here: aerialpractice.com/articles/aerial-products/get-more-space-for-aerial-sling-in-low-ceilings/
I just got my hammock and it's hurts so much and is so uncomfortable. Do I do something about it?! It makes me not want to do it 😫
awh juliah! I feel you! It hurt a lot for me before too. Just be patient. What helped me was short sessions but frequent practice, also focus on strengthening the body. It hurts much less when my legs got stronger. Hope this helps!
I found that using comfy sweatpants and a sweatshirt helped Until it became more comfortable
@@kirasuperstar2190 Oh yea! Espeically if its thicker it can protect your legs a bit!
It hurts a lot for my first 5 times (a hour each practice) but I can feel I got stronger every time. My bf has back pain and he tried it but towards more yoga, it helps him a lot. Keep going and listen to your body for how far you can go/do and it will be better
I was able to do the trapeze sit, but it wasn’t too comfortable. Do you have any tips on how to make it feel more comfortable?
Strengthen your legs. also find the balance where you feel comfortable sitting. It takes some time but you can feel your progression and thats an amazing thing!
how far apart in inches are your carabiners in the ceiling? I feel like my further apart, making the tricks a bit more difficult.
50cm if i remember correctly. I also need to adjust a lot based on my setup.
@@aerialpractice thank you
Hi I got a yoga trapeze and I had a lot of trouble with the 6th one. Is it because I got the wrong silk?
Scarlett I have never tried yoga trapeze but I feel that it is primarly for using it around your waist. Maybe why you have trouble with standing tricks?
I am interested in doing aerial hammock but I am not sure if I am fit to do it. I mean I am light around 38kilos. Is it a good exercise to start?
Jenny I was exactly the same. Not as light as you are but I am skinny, to this day i still feel a bit too skinny to grow my physique for aerial. It is a struggle to eat more and better but I got started with aerial. Then my health started to improve. If i was fit already i probably wouldnt have done it or continued doing it. You got me thinking maybe I should talk about going on a fitness journey as a skinny girl! We have our own challenge for sure. In conlcusion, if you want to be fit, find something that can keep you going and go for it. I found aerial and started growing and getting more weight (first time ever in my life), you can find yours too!
Every time I try to do the first sitting position it pinches the inside of my knees really bad and I have bruises now. Just something to get used to or am I doing something wrong?
It is hard for me to tell this way. Personally I don't have knee pain from the first sitting position. I got bruises from wrapping around the thighs at the beginning, which I got used to after a few lessons. The problem is once I got to use wrapping with one leg, I was avoiding to practice the other leg. Now with my song routine I am really pushing for both sides practice so I am seeing more bruises on my left (weaker) leg, while no pain or bruise on my stronger leg. If your issue persists, I would recommend to stop practicing and seek professional medicine advice. It's better be safe! Hope this helps!
I get motion sickness do u have any recommendations for that
I got that a lot too! But it gets better over time. I also shared some practical tips here: aerialpractice.com/spinning10tips/ Hope it helps!
But your amazing 😊
Thanks =)
Do you have any tips on how to make trick number 6 less painful on the thighs?
It took me a long time to learn that this type of pain is a reflection of my weakness. At first I thought people just got used to it by doing it a lot, but I know now the solution is conditioning. Strength the leg muscles to support the movement! We are doing a 12 week workout challenge starting this Friday (live), join us!
Is it suppose to hurt so much? I try to get into, for example, standard position. It feels like it is constricting and digging into me.
Sounds like you need to condition first! We are doing a 10 days Workout challenge with a special prize at the end. You will find it much less painful after conditioning!
I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm an older beginner that just joined a local class. I'm adding lots of stuff from you and enjoy your tips. My question: can you show silk hammock poses that can be done on a doorway? I'm so sad that I don't have high ceilings. My teacher advises not to attempt rigging except for door frame. I have a silk hammock and also Yoga Body sling
YES! I would also not attempt to rig from door because it's just not strong enough! If i see some poses I will share in my insta so maybe you can see it
Thanks for the video! It was super helpful. I have gotten 2/10 down. Now to work on the other 8.
Great job! You will get it all =)
can you do a video or explain to me how to set up aerial silks on an outside rig i can’t find any tutorials so i can’t start practicing yet :( x
Hello Ava! I would love to but I dont have an outside rig at the moment. Do you already have one?
aerialpractice not yet but i’m getting one soon i’m trying to learn how to put one up but there’s no videos anywhere 🙈
@@avamccarthy8023 Perhaps it depends on the rig itself. I have seen couple different type of outdoor rigs. The rig should have some guide for you how to use safely. Sorry I don't have more info for you. Hope this helps! Would love to see it tho once you get it =)!

@@avamccarthy8023 OH my thats so young! Hope you can create a safe setup - very important! Have you got mats? What books are you using? I also love learning from books.
Hi everyone. I saw this video and very interested with this. But I have a question, hammock dance and yoga swing are same thing or these thing are different? I really don't have any knowledge in this area. So I really want to distinguish it. Because my faith is not accept yoga, so someone can help and answer my question. Please.
Not the same. Dance is dance, yoga is yoga. They both have their pros and cons. Dance is more about expressing yourself, with aerial dance it may require more power than other forms of dances.
Can u try a different angel I am 11 am it is had to follow along
Will do. Thanks for the feedback!
Can you use a yoga mat under the hammock?
It would not be safe if you are doing anything aerial (feet off the ground) without a safety mat. Just not a risk worth taking. a medical bill costs way more than a safety mat and it's not just money. I personally have been using 2 mats for 1.5+ years, you can find my mats here: aerialpractice.com/shop/
