Her life story is so sad. Miki was diagnosed with uterine cervic cancer, which she kept a secret for a long time from people and carried on with her music career. she battled cancer for 3 years. 2 months before her death, miki wished nobody would listen to her music and said she had regretted her music career as a whole, because she spent her life being too focused on making music and didn't live her life fully enough. miki spent the last 2 months of her life with her family, and later passed away at the age of 44. she told her husband that she wished she could restart her life again and live it more fully. Rest in peace miki, your song is loved and appreciated by many 😭♥

Crazy how 30-40 years later she would be an international hit sensation. Everyone knows this track and how beautiful her voice is. If you look people are trying to find out more about her but unfortunately there isn’t much info. There was even something about how she regretted this career path after she was diagnosed with cancer. She said something along the lines that there was many things she wanted to do and see but she was just so fixated in making her music perfect.

By any chance you have a source saying she regretted this path. All I found that this song was a huge hit ( including other songs by her) In 2000 she made a phone call to her record company that she can’t play music anymore due to illness which was apparently her communication than everything went dark. Couple of years later they found out she died from uterine cervix cancer. That’s what I found. Not much is known about her or what said during the last couple years of her life battling cancer. Edit: I'm actually curious for anyone who read this comment.

I never felt so attached to a song and it's artist like this one. It's just sad that I discovered it way past when it was first release and Miki Matsubara was still with us (tho I was born in 1999 but you get the point) , but still I'm happy that I stumbled upon this masterpiece. Wherever you are Miss Miki Matsubara I hope you are happy considering that your song is being discovered years after its release. Thank you for this timeless gem!

I think, that she even made music at all, means she had some love for music. But, making it a career was something she regretted, especially because she turned out to have so little time on Earth in the end.

Miki sintió que era injusto que no pudiera recuperarse de su enfermedad. Sintió que no había podido vivir su vida, ya que pasó su vida demasiado enfocada en hacer música. Miki culpó de su enfermedad a su carrera musical. Aproximadamente un año antes de su muerte en 2003, Miki quemó algunas de sus canciones y piezas favoritas que había compuesto. Deseó que nadie escuchara su música y dijo que lamentaba su carrera en general. Unos meses más tarde, Miki descubrió que solo le quedaban unos meses de vida, por lo que decidió pasar ese tiempo con su familia. Matsubara quería hacer cualquier cosa y todo lo que pudiera para estar sana, pero no le quedaba nada por hacer. Durante sus pocos meses con su familia, los padres de Miki notaron que todavía parecía tener pasión por la música y quería seguir actuando si alguna vez recuperaba la salud. Mientras estaba anestesiada, los padres de Miki la escucharon tararear y murmurar algunas de sus canciones favoritas, lo que demuestra que en el fondo todavía amaba la música. " Es posible que se haya arrepentido de estar demasiado concentrada en su carrera y de no disfrutar más de la vida con su familia (creo que cualquiera se sentiría igual en su lugar), pero no creo que le moleste en absoluto saber que la gente todavía la descubre y piensa en ella con cariño 19 años después.

Miki was diagnosed with uterine cervic cancer, which she kept a secret for a long time from people and carried on with her music career. she battled cancer for 3 years. 2 months before her death, miki wished nobody would listen to her music and said she had regretted her music career as a whole, because she spent her life being too focused on making music and didn't live her life fully enough. miki spent the last 2 months of her life with her family, and later passed away at the age of 44. she told her husband that she wished she could restart her life again and live it more fully. Crazy how 30-40 years later she would be an international hit sensation. Everyone knows this track and how beautiful her voice is. If you look people are trying to find out more about her but unfortunately there isn’t much info. There was even something about how she regretted this career path after she was diagnosed with cancer. She said something along the lines that there was many things she wanted to do and see but she was just so fixated in making her music perfect.
Yeah, if she was still alive I would be the happiest person because she would finally see that her song was perfect, she shouldn't have any regrets, cause she made a song that will still be in people's heart for a really long time.

By any chance you have a source saying she regretted this path. All I found that this song was a huge hit ( including other songs by her) In 2000 she made a phone call to her record company that she can’t play music anymore due to illness which was apparently her communication than everything went dark. Couple of years later they found out she died from uterine cervix cancer. That’s what I found. Not much is known about her or what said during the last couple years of her life battling cancer. Edit: I'm actually curious for anyone who read this comment.

It's just sad that I discovered it way past when it was first release and Miki Matsubara was still with us (tho I was born in 1999 but you get the point) , but still I'm happy that I stumbled upon this masterpiece. Wherever you are Miss Miki Matsubara I hope you are happy considering that your song is being discovered years after its release. Thank you for this timeless gem!

I think, that she even made music at all, means she had some love for music. But, making it a career was something she regretted, especially because she turned out to have so little time on Earth in the end.
