So today we are checking out the new Crusader kings 3 dlc Legends of the dead which brings the very FUN mechanics of plagues, so I decided to ramp the difficulty up to MAX!

  • What's interesting is how the Black Plague moves. It moves on rivers and oceans just like real life, but most importantly, it misses a random part of the map. Just like how it missed Poland irl.

    • it didn't miss Poland, yes the consequences were less severe for the region, but it's easy to see why if you look at the busiest trade routes, population density etc

  • I never played CK3 but I really enjoy seeing how "realistic" the spread of the diseases is. For example at 6:00 when The Plague is spreading so fast along the coast and rivers.

    • Meh. He would need to play until 14th century from 1066 onwards to encounter the Black Plague normally and most other ilnesses didn't look they had any impact.

    • Implying they are generally unlimited, so the numbers shown are kind of meaningless. Doesn't matter how many Dukes fall into the Plague's embrace, there will always (and I mean ALWAYS) be a new Duke.

  • Kinda reminds me of a tombstone on a graveyard where I used to work. Family that lost 3 out of 4 kids to the waves of the great Influenza epidemic (spanish flu), the 4th kid also died to something else a few years later, and now Iam depressed again >.>

  • The DLC is very good as it’s specifically the legends, events and options related to legends, a bunch of models, funerals, and events related to plagues. $20 idk but if the plagues were dlc exclusive then yes. Either way I’m happy but I know the repetitive nature of legends will get old quick, thankfully mods will add more uniqueness but Paradox already adjusted legends to last longer in the first patch for the update so hopefully they’ll be adding to it as well.

  • This actually looks like a decent DLC that adds some difficulty. But if you played on standard settings it probably won't make that much a difference. CK3 makes it too easy to be a map painter
