#1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. LSU Tigers: Extended Highlights| CBS Sports HQ
No. 1 Alabama leads LSU 52-17 after three quarters of play in Death Valley in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Najee Harris punched it in from 11 yards out to give the Crimson Tide a 52-14 lead midway through the third for their only score of the quarter. Harris has three touchdowns on the night and has racked up a whopping 145 yards.
The story of the game, however, is Crimson Tide receiver DeVonta Smith. The senior has eight catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns -- all of which came in the first half. The third of those touchdowns came in the final minutes of the half on a one-handed beauty where he was leaping over several Tigers' defenders. His quarterback Mac Jones is 20-of-27 passing for 385 yards and four scores.

Official word from the SEC was that it was ruled that he did drop it, and the referee didn't signal touchdown until a teammate, seeing he dropped it, picked it up and crossed the goal line.

Watching this game seeing Mac throwing to DeVonta it looks to me everything in stride. Those Tds everyone DeVonta except that one handed catch in the end zone (unbelievable) he was in stride. At times in this game and others looked like 7 on 7 or against wind. I'm a 65 year old man that got giddy watching them play the whole team. Najee Harris made defenders his bitches all year.

Alabama played great this game but it wasn't a complete game as coach Saban would say. They definitely still have some areas to work on and I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of self inflicted penalties. You gotta give credit to that LSU quarterback though too. If he had another receiver to throw to, he might have had a pretty good game. As it is though, with a little more seasoning on him, he could be something special for the Tigers in the years to come.

Couple busted coverages went for big gains or touchdowns, and several run fits were missed that led to LSU picking up a first down.
