Actually the difference between a swamp a big and a mire are bog is a mire that, due to its location relative to the surrounding landscape, obtains most of its water from rainfall (ombrotrophic). marsh is a type of wetland within which vegetation is rooted in mineral soil but some marshes form shallow peat deposits well known as Mires.

It's funny how a lot of these rare encounters showed up during my first time in the area they spawn. I found Vulpix and Growlithe immediately after the cut scene where we meet Palina for the first time.

I always go to the alpha magicarp at the obsidian waterfall to do the move missions. It only knows splash so it won't fight back

Amazing, the first Magby I had spawn was an alpha, and it was only like my third time going through the area. I was on my way to a Shellos outbreak, passed the Magby and was like, "wait I should probably catch that" and circled around for it
DANG I saw a Magby when I was leaving the Noble battle (y’know, in that area) and I actually thought, “I’m gonna catch this now before I see it on a “rarest pokemon” video from Austin…. BOY am I glad I caught it first and asked questions later 😂😭

I wasn't even intentionally looking for vulpix, growlithe, magby or piplup and yet I found them just by going through the areas by chance lol. Nice knowing I apparently caught rare spawns first try :D
So I've been watching these for the fun of it lately, learning fun facts more than anything since I got nearly all the pokedex entries. Vulpix was one I was actually struggling with finding. I wasn't sure if it could only be found in the ST Distortions, or something. Thanks for the help in completing the dex!

I am doing a super slow playthrough because I want to stretch it out and I love watching your videos because it is just awesome advice but let’s me do the story at my own pace!! You can get a thunder stone and water stone almost guaranteed every time at the Alpha Blissey area. Just farm the rocks on the hill where it spawns.
Its more like a cliff but its understandable
I got plenty of Fire Stones, Water Stones, Thunder Stones, Leaf Stones, Ice Stones, Dawn Stones, Shiny Stones etc, just by smashing rocks and doing Distortions. I got more then I need, so it's not that hard to get :D
@@Lupinemancer87 honestly same. I've actually gotten more from smashing rocks that I pass than distortions; those, I gtlet more nuggets/star pieces and evolutionary items

I'd love to see a video on the 3 pokemon you have to complete the dex entries, I'm working on my dex right now so anything to make it easier would be a huge help!
I know it seems obvious but i persnaly find it to be quicker to train pokemon that have to use a move of that type to do those tasks
@@crimsonmoon7848 He was referring to the "Defeat with an 'X' type move" requirement, so he probably means he's found some Pokemon that cover all of the necessary types. Obviously 3 pokemon with 4 moves each is only 12, but some types don't show up as requirements, like Normal for instance, since the requirement is based on a Pokemons weaknesses and Normal isn't supereffective.

Man do I love these rare pokemon location vids. I've found prinplup but I had no idea the rest were even on the map. So far I've only seen ninetales. I'm super hoping for an outbreak of vulpix though! Shiny ninetales looks amazing

Hey! I'm an intern at the department of agriculture so I thought it'd be funny to let you know the difference in all the swamp words. A swamp is a forested wetland whereas mires are unforested wetlands dominated by moss, a bog is a type of mire in which the wetlands is filled by rainwater and a fen is the opposite type of mire where the wetlands are filled by groundwater. A marsh is a grassland filled with still or slow moving water, and a slough is a mixture of swamp and marsh. Also, a morass is an impassible area within one of these wetlands where quagmires form and those are where the mud is so deep and saturated it will give way and swallow objects similar to quicksand.

Loving your content, it helps a lot. With your shiny hunting method I did Goomy and Eevee, and was wondering if it was possible for an alpha to be shiny than today I was in the Mirelands doing some dex stuff and ran into the alpha Yanmega and he was shiny and than I found a shiny Zubat in the Highlands when headed to the space-time distortion.
Magby actually has an mass outbreak. Just like magmar. I got both yesterday while hunting petilil.
Drifbloom can have outbreaks in the cobalt coastlands too

I swear your videos are good luck, I put on this one while hunting for Magby to see if I was doing anything wrong, realized I was in the rain, went to get out of the Magmars' attack ranges so I could fast travel out, and there's a Magby! 4% chance, second attempt! I'm only 17 (Arceus included) away from a full dex and your videos are incredibly helpful!

Your awsome. I agree hunting prinplup was annoying but i used the method from your video on swapping shinys after clearing the spawn table then when i came back I found an alpha prinplup. So thanks for all the awaome videos keep it up man.

You need that rare togetic spawn for its perfect dex task of Defeat 1 Togetic. Also Prinplup spawn is required in order to do the feeding task you don't need to catch either.
3:09 vulpix is also available in the second area. I got several before getting to this coast map

@@lucasc5336 it just says crimson mirelands on the info. Which i believe means it was a distortion event thing, since it doesnt specify the region of the mirelands
Austin , loving these videos! They’re really helping my playthrough of this game. If you ever have a minute could you maybe talk about the level scaling in this game? Its super confusing to me how my level 55 Typlosion and other high level alphas are getting rinsed by pokemon in distortions who are like 20 levels lower.
Well if you’re getting double or triple teamed in distortions it’s not too hard to lose a mon, also Pokémon have the opportunity to move twice in a row which makes things a lot harder
@@mdough3088 i love how much more difficult battling can be in this game. in previous games, the pokemon with just a few higher levels would almost always win. But now, level doesnt mean everything

I literally just started this area today and I was like “I feel bad for passing austin” but your here!
I noticed that if you give the farmer an alpha pokemon you get a different cutscene. I wonder if a full set of alphas will affect the farming output.

Found both Vulpix and Hisuian Growlithe my first time through Veilstone, my luck continued with more vulpix on the second run through.

There is also an Eevee spawn between crossing slope and aipom Hill. It's after you pass a tengela an come up on glameow. There will either be an Eevee or two glameow. Bc they share a spawn point
got my shiny charm today. now to get perfect on everything and casually hunt for shinies while I do that.

Magnetone -> Magnezone also follows the gen 4 method: just go to the mnt Coronet and the prompt to evolve appears

The only Magby I’ve seen so far showed up during a Magmar outbreak and it got away because I tried to fight it instead of catching it outright. I’ll be coming back to this video and a few others when I try to make another one spawn. ❤️

I caught 2 magby and 2 vulpix on my first time through those areas. I had no idea they were rare lol. I also scared off Togepi on my first time through the area 😰, but I'm glad it'll always be in the same spot.
In the mirelands believe (time wise) you can farm turtwig, togepi and togitec... togepi spawns faster of those 2 and kn the same are you have petil and pacharisu... traveling between the 2 areas for respawning you'll have yamegas and an alpha, paras, parasect, teddiursa, sometimes ursuring, combee, rarely vespiqueen... and at night its ghastly and haunters

Going through the post game, I just got an alpha growlithe at the rare spawn spot for it
First of all, keep up the awesome work! Love your videos for all things Pokemon. I know in one of your previous videos you mentioned something about the Space-Time Distortions not spawning. I've scoured everywhere and cannot find info on this. I've not had one spawn in over 12 hours of active gameplay. Have you experienced this, know anything, or have heard about this?

After taking care of the frenzied noble there I went back to the volcano and came across 5 Magby’s in a row. I thought they were common spawn 🥴
Yep I caught one so I thought it was common. On my game the rarest thing seems to pe pichu. I saw one in the first couple of hours for a second and never again. I eventually came across a picachu yesterday after a lot of looking since release and I knew they're about as my daughter caught a ton of them on her game. It seems a bit hit and miss what you get in this game.
@@saralowe5306 Yep, luck can always beat percentages! i havent seen one magby yet.. But, ive seen a pichu almost every time i pass by a certain area in the obsidian fieldlands, and i also found a pichu outbreak!
@Austin John Plays, just found a shortcut area in the Cobalt coastlands. It's right by the Alpha Octillery. Quicker access to the other shoreline... But I think it might be worth your while to just look around inside it for a bit. Never know what you might see.

Got really lucky and managed to find an alpha Magby just after finishing the story in that area. Had no idea how rare it was…
Man this game has so much hours worth of gameplay. I can confidently say I've spent already more than 10hr on the game and I haven't even left the *FIRST* area like they make it so worthwhile actually looking for Pokémon to capture and complete the Pokédex

2:40 I may not be USDA-affiliated, but per the dictionary, bogs are wetlands with acid peaty soil, explaining Ursaluna’s presence, a marsh is an area of low-lying land that is flooded in wet seasons/high tide, and is always waterlogged, and a mire is a wetland area or ecosystem based on peat. Basically, all mires are bogs, but bogs and marshes are different.
Not only did I score Magby on my first run back to the Volcano after taking down the Rock Puppers; but it was also alpha. I was a very happy camper.
Funny story about that Togetik(?). I was actually working on the dex for it, along with some other pokemon. As I was looking at the entry, I thought to myself, "Where am I supposed to be able to fight one at to defeat it." Well, coincidentally, I happen to be on that land mass, and there was one spawned in at that exact time. It was too good. It's a shame I'm not a streamer. Because it was pretty hilarious, lol
the ending was hilarious. very sneaky.
