Should be noted that there *are* wild Trevenants roaming the forest area in Kitakami. Notably there's one that's a static tera spawn. There's also a single Kleavor in the Canyon Biome in the Terrarium.

Yeah kleavor not only appears in battles, but in the bb pokedex.
An important note for Eevee, the method for sylveon takes priority over espeon and umbreon, so make sure Eevee does not know a fairy move if you want those two. Also the time of day is based on the game’s hour long day cycle and not real world time like in most other games.

I find it weird they didn't go with the Exeggcute only evolves into Alolan form while within the Coastal Biome. I like to think in future games you're gonna have mons that only evolve in certain biomes of the map. Golden opportunity to introduce it there haha
Too bad evolving Pikachu in the Coastal Biome doesn't get you Alolan Raichu.
I don't think they'll do biome-specific evolutions. That's already the concept behind pokémon that evolve by being exposed to special magnetic fields, the mossy rock, or the icy rock. Instead of making every future region have specific places for those, they just simplified the evolution methods for those pokémon.
@@cis22 Maybe regional evolutions could happen outside of their normal area while holding something like a " Stone" (or maybe rock, pebble, shard, clump, or something else.) It could even be appropriate to the region, like "Alolan Sand". (The same items could also be used for breeding up regional base forms, like Wooper or Voltorb.) Edit: It could also trigger off clothing or other equippables, like the Arc Phone case. (You need to have played PLA to get that anyway, so bad example, but still.)
And it is already partially implemented! Before the Indigo Disk, if you hatched a Tauros egg in Kitakami (even if the parent was any of the Paldean forms) it would hatch in its Kantonian form.
It's already kinda been done, in Alola. Crabrawler would evolve into Crabominable when you got to Mount Lanakila.@@cis22
You can also catch the three Tyrogue evolutions in three different caves in the Canyon Biome, so no need to evolve them if you're just going for Pokedex completion.
The only one that's worthwhile though is Hitmontop as having equal attack and defense is harder to achieve given wild Tyrogue are more likely to have more attack or defense EVs to get the other 2.

Quite sad that Coastal Biome doesn't count as Alola for evolution purposes. I guess with picnics getting eggs there it would mess a bit with regional forms, maybe. And I share your incredulity about Wyrdeer not receiving the same treatment as Qwlfish. Didn't know Black Augurite wasn't available in these games. Why on earth did they bother changing Qwlfish only to ignore the others, I wonder.
Because Wyrdeer isn't in the Pokedex. Although, the Black Augerite does exist in the DLC. It's just not a achievable item. It would have been cool if we could evolve Scyther to Kleavor if we are in the vicinity of the Black Augerite world objects where they naturally spawn.
It's about preserving the idea that the Hisuian pokes have been "lost" for most of the series. They've kept the ones that evolve from alternate forms (qwilfish, basculin, growlithe) because you can say those have always been around, you just never saw them before because they're rare. But there's only one kind of stantler (& ursaring, & petilil, etc) & we know they don't evolve like that in modern times. They'll probably keep drip-feeding us "bloodmoon beast" type one-off quests for a while, & then find some excuse to revive them all properly in a future gen.
@@sleepeybunney BB Academy is kind of a special case now that you mention that because their whole thing is artificially creating an ecosystem. So it would be plausible for them to hand place Kleavor and the special Qwilfish and/or the means to evolve them. Weird that they don't mention this at all, though. Basculegion and Hisuian Growlithe are still kind of a mystery, but Kitakami did have kind of an "ancient" feel and of course they heavily exploited themes from PLA in that part. But if we're talking ancient, Hisui isn't nearly as ancient as we can assume the prehistoric Pokemon from Scarlet are. And those showed up through magical time travel just fine.
@@sleepeybunney The thing is, Stantler only learns the move via breeding, so it would fit this quite well. It lost the ability to learn the move, so it couldn't evolve unless thought from a Wyrdeer. But I do see your point.
Basculegion is in raids, and actually is one of the ones that give extra herbs
FYI: You can transfer Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet to Legend Arceus if you need a Hisuian form !
PARROT...... really needed this. Starting a living dex with pokemon ONLY from their original game and ONLY using regular pokeballs... and apparently most of my existing pokemon in SV use either ultra or quick balls.

Some corrections: - Ursaring does not need to be in the Scarlet Bog to evolve into Ursaluna. Anywhere in Hisui will work, so long a it's the night of a full moon. (Still can't evolve in SV tho) - (More of an addition than a correction) Bisharp's equals need only be another Bisharp holding a Leader's Crest. While the only way to find that in the wild is what Austin was talking about in the video, if you have your own Leader's Crest that you're able to give to a wild Bisharp via moves or abilities such as Trick, then that Bisharp will count as an equal. - Capsakid does not need to be level 30. A Fire Stone is usable on any Capsakid, even a freshly hatched level 1. - (Commentary mistake, the spreadsheet is correct) Poltchageist needs the appropriate teacup used on it from the bag, it does not need to level up while holding it.

Gengar can also be caught in the wild as a nightime spawn in Kitakami by Mossfell Confluence. Use a sandwich to boost ghost encounter.
A lot of trade/item evolutions can be obtained by transferring your Pokemon to Legends Arceus and using their respective items on them. You lose the friendship on those Pokemon, but it's pretty easy to get back, and it saves you having to trade.
Anyone know if this also works for Pokemon that have Hisuian evolutions? Like if I get a shiny cindaquil in the blueberry academy, can I transfer it to PLA, evolve it there, will it be Hisuian typhlosion or normal?
@@kylelaunderville9192 Yeah that works, too. That's the only way to get H-Typhlosion (for example) in something other than a strange ball

Gengar is also available in the wild in Kitakami. And a lot of Mons introduced in Kitakami (like vulpix, geodude) also have the raid options. Also, Kleavor has an static encounter. And Ursaring can evolve in Legends with the item and with the full moon (doesn't matter where it is, can be jubilife or any other area of the map, no need to be in the Crimson Mirelands)

@@hedreamt9455 it’s on a specific spot on a mountain/hill in the canyon biome. It has jagged rocks that seem to be black augurite poking out of the ground. I don’t remember where exactly it is though.

@@JonathonJuarez i have Violet too :,) there are trade codes you can use to get the version exclusives, Austin John has some videos dedicated to explaining those. I used that!
Another note on Inkay's evolution: it won't work with some 3rd party joycon replacements. Apparently the gyroscope is in the controllers and not all 3rd party controllers have the right type. I use 3rd party controllers most of the time in handheld mode, but I had to switch to my original joycons to get my Inkay to evolve.

There's also Kantonian Slowpoke available in the base game, which can evolve in to Johtoan Slowking by trading it while holding a King's Rock. I imagine the reason it disappeared from the chart is because you hid all the pokemon that are flagged to evolve via regular level up, and since Kantonian Slowpoke can also evolve into Kantonian Slowbro by just leveling up, Slowpoke had that tag/flag, so it got removed from the list even though it also has the option of evolving into Slowking. Johtoan Slowking can also be found in 5 and 6 star raids in the base game, for those who don't want to trade.

A video abt the new trade codes for trading pokemon in the DLC would be really helpful, mainly for the new paradox legendary pokemon ( Gouging fire, Raging bolt,Iron crown, iron boulder)
You didn't mention that Galarian Slowbro can be found in 5/6 star raids, and Galarian Slowking in 6 star raids. Also, Scyther can not be evolved into Kleavor in-game, but Kleavor can be found in raids and in the wild.
Vileplumes can also be found in the wild in that same area you can get oddish and gloom.

I have gotten lucky and went into raids to get a lot of the evolved forms, made things a bit easier also
there's nothing random about Tandemaus to Maushold, they have to be levelled up past level 25 as a result of regular battling(not auto battling and probably not synchro machine battling) it just feels random because they only tell you if they're evolving if they're the lead pokemon in your party(otherwise they evolve without the usual fanfare).

@@ontos8914 according to bulbapedia, you're right, it skips the evolution screen if they evolve from a battle they weren't sent out in, being the lead pokemon is not mentioned.
Wild that they didn't include black augurite in the area that clearly has black augurite in the terrarium, but I guess it's fine since there's a Kleavor you can catch

There is a place called Timeless Woods in Kitakami... All hisuian evos could have been made to evolve here (white striped basculin can be found there)
Just bought Legends Arceus a week before DLC came out. Worth it for evolving trade evolutions so long as you have pokemon home. Worth it for those legendaries also. Wish I had remembered to finish the legendary foot print quest in sword and shield before resetting it to get a second kubfu to have both typed Urshifu.
I don't know if you covered this in any of your videos, but if you fly to the big ball on the top of the blueberry academy Terarium, you can find 3 great items, including a golden cap. Great material as always Austin!
the hisuian forms can be a bit frustrating but the concept does make sense in my head that we would not be able to evolve many of them given the story being set so far in the past

Mousehold can evolve on screen of it starts the battle and then levels up. Shiny Catherine is doing a daily short series to get a shiny 3 Mousehold right now and she triggers the on screen evolution
I think Tandemaus weird evolution where the extra mouse simply appears is a reference to “spontaneous generation” which is a very old school dark ages way of thinking. Essentially, people thought that leaving a large pile of rags and grain in a corner of a barn or some such building was a magic spell that would literally create mice out of nothing, hence why people would find mice living in places where there was food and places to live/hide
Correction: Capsakid doesn't need to be at least level 30 when using a fire Stone, you can use it right away. Nice video tho, I'm sad Costal Biome doesn't work for achieving Alolan Evolutions and that they removed Hisuian Evolutions naturally

For many of the trade evolutions I would recommend moving the Pokémon to legends and evolving them there as you don’t have to trade in that game.

13:20 it was fun going through and getting ALL of the different types base and shiny form... it is a living dex in my pokemon home and one of my prized projects next to my living shiny dex
Wish they’d give us a method to evolve Pikachu to Alolan Raichu. I sent my shiny Pichu I caught in Moon up to Bank then sent it to HOME. I definitely should have kept it in Moon and evolved it fully first 😭
It should be noted that in order to evolve the hisuian pokemon - scyther to kleavor - you can trade from scarlet and violet to legends arceus. I did that to evolve my 5 IV cyndaquil to hisuian typhlosion, as well as trading another 5 IV scyther to get the black augurite.

Thankfully some of the evolutions can be found in the wild. I'm still working on finishing my main dex and I need to check Sword/Shield to see which Cubfu evo I have so I have the opposite in Scarlet

I think itd be neat if there was an in game npc that if you had a pokemon that evolved into a regional form (pikachu to alolan raichu, stantler to wydeer, etc) that would enable that pokemon to evolve to its regional form. Like the npc would say "congrats! This pokemon tapped into its hidden potential and can now evolve to an entirely new form!"

On Petilil you can still transfer one back to PLA and evolve into Hisuian Lilligant. I did so the other day with a shiny Petilil and moved it back to Violet just fine.

Bisharp can still evolve in Kitakami, not just Paldea as I was doing a Kitakami only playthrough to get the dex done for that region.
Can confirm, I evolved mine in Kitakami in the Timeless woods as more Bisharp spawn in there than in bamboo forest next to Fury Falls.

For the Hitmontop evolution, the attack and defense have to be equal after evolving; so it could happen that a Tyrogue with equal attack and defense evolves into the other two. Tera Hitmontop is in the wild though, so that's easier imo.
@AustinJohnPlays you can get kantonian golem in 5 star raids within kitakami as well. It’s not mentioned on the spreadsheet. It’s how I got my golem in game

Fly with your ride pokemon up the green discoball in the terrarium and you'll find some good stuff ! A gold bottle cap . 50 stellar terrarium shards and a ability patch .
Fairly sure it's always been Hisui in general as opposed to just crimson bog while under the full moon with peat block. I've evolved several Ursaluna in Obsidian Fields
It should be noted that there is not a level requirement alongside the Fire Stone for Scovillian evolution.

Hey Austin, you can catch Basculegion in Tera Raids in Kitakami (5 and 6 Stars).
You're Right, I extracted all of the Indigo Disk raids as added in the Kitakami ones, mostly focusing on pokemon that would require trading.

Tried dancing to encounter Meloetta, but turns out I’ve got a parrot left feet!
The auto battle mode and walking mode are two seperate modes. So if you use shoulder R button it triggers auto battle mode. If you use R trigger button it will just send them out for a walk.
If you go to the top of the disco ball in the terrarium. You will find a ability patch, golden bottle cap, and 50 Stella Terra shards. Don’t question a guardian from breath of the wild why it plays Pokémon.
Not me rushing to the unnecessary Pokémon evolution remedial course just because the best Professor is teaching it.
You do get many of the evolutions items as a reward for evaluating your Pokedex in the new DLC

Fun fact Alcremie also tracks Flavor and Sweets for the shinies so there are 63 shiny forms each with a page in the dex. Thankfully you only need 1 shiny, 1 of each flavor, and one of each sweet and the dex in scarlet and violet will auto-fill all 126 pages of all possible combinations for the Alcremie forms. I just completed filling in all it's forms yesterday.
I just evolved 63 Milcery for my living-form-dex, it was really fun :D

to add to the inkey evolution, I have a 3rd party joycon that doesn't work wireless, as in it needs to be plugged into the switch to work, and it can't be used to evolve inkey since it doesn't have a gyro build in, I had to use a official joycon to make it evolve
I found a wild Annialape just strolling about in Kitakami I think? Took me by surprise because I didn’t know they spawned at all.
