@@hauptmannoffensichtlich2312 - So far, none of the projects, where civilians were selected for space missions, have succeeded. I do give SpaceX a much bigger chance of actually happening, than any of the previous ones, but nothing is certain yet. There's a significant chance it won't be in 2023.

“Deserve” is a poor word to describe it. Anyone who wants to go “deserves” to go just as much - that’s where we want to see space travel go, isn’t it?. I think you mean it’s nice to see his pursuit of his dreams pay off in a big way. That this is a worthy opportunity. I think that, too, but we don’t get to decide who “deserves” something more than others. People can either pursue their dreams and hope it works or not. We should be happy for him, but inherently we say “deserves” as a term of judgment without realizing it and space is for everyone. Others who want to go might have different skills, might have disabilities, might have families they have to provide for (AFAIK Tim does not), so their ability to tolerate risk or even have a body that can go is different.

In addition, Tim should: 1) After an hour, ask if they could turn the ship back around because he thinks he left the oven on. 2) Once at the halfway point - ask "Are we there yet?" every 15 minutes. 3) Ask to be dropped off at that restaurant near the Sea of Tranquility. The one with good food but lousy atmosphere.

I wanted it for most of my life, but then I grew up and realized what a bad idea that is. I am not risking my life like that, when we are possibly on the verge of reaching a life extension escape velocity. If you want to explore space, invest into aging research instead.

I was onboard with the idea of sending artists and musicians on Starship, however I always felt there needed to be at least 1 rocket enthusiast/spaceflight vlogger among them who will be able to document the trip from a tech perspective. Many of us hoped that youtuber would be Tim, because of his dedication and passion. So excited to see you picked and can't wait to watch every moment of your trip!
