  • Seven to nine is definitely the witching hours for my greyhound. But we settled into a routine ok. He eats at 630. Rests a half hour. Then we play so he can run around the house and fetch the ball. Then he goes out for a quick walkies. Then back inside to lie down next to Mommy and chill out. He then follows me to get when I shut off the tv and lights, and say, let's go nite nite, go to bed now. He sleeps a good ten hours and I'm happy for that. Time to read a bit and wind down myself while I watch him snooze in comfort.

    • you should be careful with the time of dinner and play, tho. You say he has dinner,rest a half hour and then plays. Veterinarians says that you should wait two hours to play after a meal, to avoid health problems (specially dangerous problems like bloat) you should talk to your vet about that

    • they are absolutely great! we have a 4.5 mo puppy and we try to do almost everything as per the mccann method, and it works. some things take time (crate training was a bit of a nightmare because she was whining a lot), but with a bit of patience everything works out really well. i'd say good luck with your puppy, but honestly, you don't need luck if you just follow these videos!

  • I'm a new subscriber. Loving your content. My new puppy is coming home March 3rd 2023. I've watched a few videos, and I'm learning much. I've raised dogs for years. I lost my mama and daughter duo 2 years ago, and ready to build my new family. My question is, what kind of treats to use? Because treats are used so frequently, I want to be certain I'm using healthier goodies. Also, if anyone has suggestions regarding a homemade diet for dogs... thank you. Good bless.

  • My dog loves to watch TV!! She loves "Pitbulls & Paroles" is #1 w/"The Incredible Dr Pol" & "Dr Oakley: Yukon Vet" both #2 and loves movies w/dogs-various animals to scary movies, tho "When a Stranger Calls" (the 1995 or 2nd version) really scares her & she really can't watch it. She turns her head away, but sneaks a peak. Yet we do play, then watch a little TV and then go to bed. Tho crate trained, she has a bed near me that she prefers. * she was a rescue puppy from the hurricane in Houston, so had to work thru her fears and make acceptions w/her training but she's a great & well mannered pup.

  • Hi! This is not relates to the video but Im struggling with my puppy so much 🥺 I got her in october, now she is almost 6 months old and she misbehave a lot.She is intelligent but anyways she would make poor choices and I dont know how to stop her. I dont allow her to enter the bedroom because two months ago she started to jump onto them and I dont like that (and its dangerous for her) but she still does everytime I'm sleeping or I open the bedrooms door. She also goes up into the chairs and table of the dinning room, specially when Im not looking after her (even when my family is there, but she doesn't give a f*ck about my family because they never took their time to train her or do something for her). We are thinking about making a room for her where she can stay out of trouble when she is not supervised until she learns to have a good behavior. But can I do that even when she already "tasted" the freedom? I feel like she is going to get stressed and sad if I confine her into that area after all these months she was allowed to run around the house. I think its unfair, I have tried everything and nothing works.

  • Just wondering if my puppy is in their crate at night but barks and whines when i get up to go use the bathroom how do I fix this? I know Sheepadoodles are very companion driven and don’t like to be left alone but every time I go toilet he is waking up and barking and my wife needs her sleep for work in the morning, his crate is also next to my bed in the room. Please any help will be appreciated 🙏🙏

  • My Gidget is almost 5 month terrier pit mix and I’m nervous about trying to play tug with her. She’s so sweet but she’s getting big and strong. I’ve been told not to let her run out in the yard yet until I have her better trained and not to bring her out to walk until she’s trained to walk so now she runs in the house and I play fetch with her inside. Help I need to know the rules.

  • My puppy (9 1/2 weeks) chews on the beds I got for her. One is just a standard crate liner, and the other is a plush donut shaped bed. As soon as she get on either one, she starts digging and chewing on it. Suggestions?

    @RLCinGA@RLCinGA Жыл бұрын
    • My sollution was a bitter spray designed to keep dogs from biting things. Doesn't work for all dogs though. But I'd be lost without it. Ours has chewed holes in his bed that we had to sew shut. And if I'm not on him like a hawk, he'll gnaw it open again. When it was really bad, I just took the bed away. It seems to come in phases. I hate that he chews on stuff like this, cause he'll swallow whatever he can get loose. Not good. 8 months old, still an issue I have to stay on top of.

  • Hello! I own an 8 week old labrador and I want to train him but he can't eat the kibbles without water. I saw your other video on how to train a puppy labrador by using his food to congratulate him for following your commands, I wanted to do the same but again he can't eat his kibble without water, what do I do?

    @cariazotv3468@cariazotv3468 Жыл бұрын
    • You could still presoak a bit of food and use as the treat. You might not like it because your hands will get messy but there's no difference. Why can't he eat the kibble without water? He should be able to have hard kibble at that age

  • We do so much activity and training after four or five o’clock that our 3 month old husky is tired and sleeping by or even before 8pm. By the time 9/10 rolls around the switch from the living room downstairs to the bedroom upstairs wakes her up and she gets all excited about another round of play or whatever. Any tips?

  • Hi! What do you guys think/recommend about long time confinement area for puppy? We both work 8hrs, have a 9 week collie mix puppy. Would like a video on that!

    @rocioh.3866@rocioh.3866 Жыл бұрын
    • i think most trainers will say that it's not a good idea. especially for a 2mo puppy. they should be in a crate for MAXIMUM 2 hours at that age...

      @vanclemmons@vanclemmons Жыл бұрын
    • I currently have a 10 week old collie/retriever mix. I'd never leave him for 8 hours, it's not fair on him or his bladder. He goes in the pen for a maximum of 2 hours when I'm not there (walking my other dog etc), longer if I'm in the same room and working because I'm able to take him out as soon as he wakes up or needs to go out. You'll need to get someone to come in at lunchtime to feed, exercise and toilet him/her.

  • My 4 mo small dog will go into her crate to eat, but that's where it ends. I can close the door while the food is in there but the second she's done, she starts losing her mind. I need her to be in the crate when I travel (by car on the seat beside me)

    @dashulamite@dashulamite Жыл бұрын
    • We don't crate, and the way we've been doing the car bit, is harness and a special car-leash. One that clicks into the safety belt slot thingy. Ours is a small/medium sized dog, and he loves going in the car at this point. (8 months old.) He sits in the back seat. To begin with, I'd sit with him while my SO drove. Now he's back there alone usually. Works great!

      @mirawenya@mirawenya Жыл бұрын
  • crates are forbidden by law in germany because it is considered animal cruelty. I am very fortunate that my little puppy is the most compliant dog i have ever had, because she loves her little crate and chills in there a lot but i am not closing it. I would like to know what your thoughts are on this law here in germany? I would like to keep her in the crate sometimes when i have to run an errand or something and i am still worried she might hurt herself since she is really really small (russian toy terrier). But i have my doubts because here it is VERY frowned upon/ illegal.

    @KatzeMelli@KatzeMelli Жыл бұрын
    • Penned area or puppy proof room works. Especially for a quick errand. We don't crate, also frowned upon here (though not illegal as far as I know). Should be fine.
