  • As an older sister by 8 years, this reminded me of me and my little sister. As I've grown older I've become more distant, and nit pick what she does sometimes remembering how I was mistreated at school for being different. This is a good reminder for me and all the other older siblings out there to set aside time for your siblings 💞

    • As a little sister I constantly get reminded that my sister isn’t as emotionally intelligent as me because she’s a great boyfriend that loves her but she wants to throw it all away because she’s soft on her son and I’m tired of her complaining about me hitting him when he hits me first yesterday my brother in law told me that he was bad and when he hits me to hit him back and I obeyed his advice

  • This story really made me realize how much nature means for the environment. I noticed that almost everywhere will either be big houses and shops and malls and the people never really gave second thoughts about the nature and the life there. I hope this story can inspire us to build less and go and enjoy nature.

  • I feel like everyone can relate to Rose. The thing is with MSA protagonists, they don’t get how the antagonists like Rose who are going through life. Like neglectance, abuse, and always wanting to make their parents proud. But in the end, they’ll end up having a terrible ending

  • I feel sorry for the way how rose wasn’t appreciated enough to have the attention that she deserved, but it wasn’t really Emily’s fault to begin with just because of the accident that happened, parents just need to understand their kids more often. But I’m glad that they eventually managed to work things out and hope for the better.

  • I can actually relate to Rose. I'm the eldest of two siblings, but I've never really been "big sister" material. My brother, whom I'm the closest to, is only 14 months younger than me and has always been really mature and responsible for his age. Even when we were kids, he'd be looking after me instead of the other way around like you would expect. If people didn't mistake us for twins, they thought he was the older brother. Not that I ever minded it. I actually grew to like it so much that, to this day, I refer to him as my "big bro". So, as one can imagine, I wasn't exactly ready for the responsibilities of being a big sister when my baby sister was born when I was 6. I suddenly had responsibilities that were never expected of me before and I didn't know how to handle it. To make matters worse for me, I have several mental conditions (autism, depression, ADHD, anxiety) that make being a responsible older sister really tough. I'm not using my conditions as an excuse, but more like an explanation. One stormy night (as cliché as it sounds), there was a terrible incident. I won't go into details of what happened as it's very personal and still hurts me to think back on, but I had failed majorly as a big sister and it nearly made us lose my sister. I had failed to keep a proper eye on her, too distracted by the TV, and something terrible happened to my sister. I wasn't the only one who was supposed to keep an eye on her that night, but a lot of the blame was placed on me and it scarred me for life. I really felt like I had just nearly gotten my sister killed from the way I was yelled at for not keeping an better eye on her. Luckily, my sister was returned home safe. Just really wet from the rain and scared. But, despite her being okay and my mom reassuring me that I wasn't at fault, I still felt the guilt and my mind was twisted into believing that I was to blame for what had happened. Ever since that incident, I distanced myself from my sister because I was so afraid that she'd get hurt because of me or that I'd fail her as a sister again. However, whenever something bad happened to her, I was panic the most and fuss over her until someone calmed me down. One time, while we were visiting my cousins, my sister had seemingly disappeared and we all freaked out. I was especially in a panic as I felt like I was reliving the incident. I nearly tore my cousin's house apart searching for her, afraid that she might have slipped out in a town she wasn't familiar with. Luckily, we found her in just a few minutes. She had fallen asleep in my cousin's toy closet while playing with play dough. Everyone had a good laugh about the end result, but I was still crying and hugging my sister like crazy, just so relieved that she was okay after being so afraid for her. I think that was the first time my family realized what a big impact the incident had on me. My sister and I were still pretty distant from each other and it took me a long time to finally understand that I wasn't really at fault for the incident all those years ago. Yes, I did play a part in failing to protect her that night, but I wasn't the only one nor was it entirely my fault. I still feel a great sense of guilt, but I also acknowledge it wasn't all on me. As I mentioned before, I have some conditions that made it difficult for me to properly look after my sister. I was easily distracted and couldn't always control when I would slip into a daydream. I had gotten better at it over the years, but there were times when it would still happen without me noticing it. I once even slipped into a trance during my art teacher's explanation for one of her lessons and didn't even notice it until she asked if we had any questions. Having only heard her ask if we had any questions, I stupidly asked her what we were doing that day and everyone laughed at me as she had just explained it. I felt so humiliated that I had completely spaced out like that, and during my favorite class no less. Luckily, I later got the chance to explain to her about my condition and she was understanding and didn't take any offense to how I spaced out on her like that. I still felt really embarrassed by what happened, though, as I honestly thought I had better control of it by then. I guess not. Over the years, and by the time I was in high school, I decided that I'd work on re-establishing my relationship with my sister. I really wanted to be part of her life and be the sister she deserved. Unfortunately, by then, she had already been growing up and was developing her teenage attitude pretty much ever since she was still in diapers. We are complete opposites of each other which made it even harder for us to connect. And, like our brother, she was already becoming more mature than me. I was always pretty so in terms of growing up and stuff and I even somehow skipped the whole "teen rebellions" stage of my growth while both my siblings went through it like everyone else. That left me feeling like I had never truly grown up and changed from the kid I was. Even now, as a 27-year-old, I realize that I hadn't changed that much from when I was 7. I'm defiantly more mature and responsible since then, but I'm otherwise still the same girl I had always been. That made it even harder to be there for my sister since I didn't understand any of the changes in her growth that she was going through since I had missed out on all that. My sister and I, to this day, still don't get along very well. Still, I noticed that we had gotten better in little ways as we began to understand each other more. I still dote over her as my baby sister, but I'm also so proud of all the things she's accomplished. She recently received a full scholarship for her college! I am beyond proud of her for that! I also found out that she's looking out for me in her own way. My sister always gave me a hard time about how I seem to live life like a fairytale and being so young at heart, but my mom revealed to me that the reason she gives me such a hard time about it is because she's worried that I won't be able to handle reality if I continue on like this. I kinda couldn't help but laugh at how backwards it was. The truth is, it's because I'm an escapist that I'm able to handle reality. As I mentioned before, I have depression. Without my imagination and unique way of viewing the world, my depression would otherwise get the better of me and I'd start having really dark thoughts about how unfair life can be. So, in a ironic twists, my sister's attempts to take care of me are really only doing more harm than good. Still, just knowing that she worries about me makes me really happy. When I get the chance, I'd like to sit down with her and explain this to her. Maybe we can even talk about us in general. I really miss my sister and I want us to get along. It's hard, but I still love her so much and want to be the sister she deserves. She's so amazing and talented! I am proud of her everyday and hope that, someday, I can make her proud as a sister just has she has made me proud.
