I cooked your dijon mustard salmon 2 days ago for my mum and myself and we were both very impressed, it tasted great and she wants me to cook it again but for the whole family💞 What really elevated the dish was using fresh salmon:) I paired it with roasted potatoes and boiled broccoli and I will certainly cook it again💖

      @nutrientmatters@nutrientmatters2 ай бұрын
    • @zoraackerman1684 Hi! I kept it pretty simple since the dijon salmon is very flavourful by itself. For the potatoes I tossed them in canola oil and salt and roasted them in a 200C oven. The broccoli was boiled in water with a teeny amount of salt, and then received a slight drizzle of olive oil! The original recipe does have roasted potatoes, but I changed how I cooked them and I also added boiled broccoli instead of zucchini (to fit my family’s taste) However, I recommend not changing the salmon in any way because it turned out delicious! Kinda long reply but I hope this helps☺️

    • I can't speak to your personal situation, but there *are* cheaper things people can buy to make simple but filling meals. Including tortillas

      @Chibbykins@ChibbykinsАй бұрын
    • It's very likely that you can find a neighbor or friend of a friend with chickens from whom you can obtain fresh eggs for cheap or even free. Produce can be found for cheap at markets and at grocery stores if they're a bit blemished. Go to a local supermarket, pick out a few things that are a bit ugly-yet-safe for cooking, and ask an associate to let you speak to a manager. *AS POLITELY AS POSSIBLE* explain that you're on an extreme budget and tell them that you've picked out their most undesirable fruits and veggies and then ask if they would be willing to do a price drop on them for you. If you're nice, they'll likely do 20% off or maybe more depending on how blemished they are. It won't go well for you if you walk up and say "Hey, I'm broke so I'll buy all your nasty ass potatoes and wormhole apples if you gimme half off. Deal?" 😸 You can cut eyes off potatoes. You can cut away bruises and scars. Lots of stuff gets dumped just because of looks which is heartbreaking. :( Getting half price for you is still better than watching it get written off and tossed in the dumpster. 🤷🏼‍♂️ This applies to meats too, whenever they are really close to their expiration or sell-by date. You can also get a better deal on meat if you go direct to a farm or a butcher sourcing locally. If you're able, ask around and see if friends/family/coworkers are hunters and would help you out with getting a tag and going out to bag a deer and then help you process the meat. TBH you don't NEED to pull the trigger yourself if you really have that much of an objection to it. You can eat a LOTTTTT of meals from one deer that you humanely hunt and clean. If possible, buy a chest freezer on Craigslist or something and PACK that thing full of meat. If you go to a butcher they can give you a good deal when you buy bulk meat compared to just a few sausages and burgers. 😎 Also, my local university has a "meat lab" where the agriculture students get to learn about animals and farming from start to finish. They butcher livestock and learn from it, but the meat is available to buy at good prices. Win-win. My mom used to get cow hooves and leg bones from the meat lab for the dogs to chew on. :)

  • that looks good but you know what’s better? A BROWNIE RECIPE *Ingredients:* - 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter - 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar - 2 large eggs - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder - 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour - 1/4 teaspoon salt - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder *Instructions:* 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan. 2. Melt the butter in a saucepan on low heat. Remove from heat once melted. 3. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract into the melted butter. 4. Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. 6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. 7. Allow the brownies to cool before cutting into squares. Enjoy your delicious homemade brownies!

    • Wdym? This won't take more than 15-20 minutes to prepare. Fried cheese will take 5 minutes. Scrambled eggs will take 3-4 minutes. Sausages, around 8 minutes (you can start while doing the eggs and cheese). The rest is just toasting for a short while. Many people certainly have 15-20 minutes to prepare a decent breakfast, rather than eating cereals within 3 minutes.

      @thaloh@thalohАй бұрын
    • @@mehmetemrecan7543 It’s not as if the two options are a 20 minute burrito or cereal. You can make a bowl of porridge with seeds, peanut butter, fruit, stuff like that in 4 minutes flat. People who have 20 minutes to make breakfast each morning (weekends aside) don’t have busy lives.
