can't beat medieval european architecture with anything else in the world...
Agree...I think it is strange they really don't have it in Asia...there are many old cultures there...
That's subjective.
@@kayflip2233 So, where on the other continents are there more beautiful towns?
@@johanswede8200 All over Southeast, East Asia.

I hope you run into Janek and Honsa from The Honest Guide. One of my favorite YT-Channels. A lot of funny informations about prague and the czechs. Where are the tourist traps and what is an authentic czech restaurant with traditional meals. How to order a beer because the czechs have a few ways to drink their taped beer.(Mliko, Snyt, Cochtan a.s.o.)
Agreed!!
That channel convinced me to never visit Prague.
@@tube.brasil If every city had a channel like an honest guide, you wouldn't go anywhere 😂
Enjoy your visit. I love Prague, the river, the castle district of Hradczany, Czerny Most.
Já jsem češka❤😊
Prague is on the most beautiful cities in Europe. In my opinion.
I live near the number 1 most visited and busiest city in Europe London. But i can admit prague is one of the most beautiful citys in the world i hope to visit in the future
OMG, I thought I heard you passing by me and I Iooked around and couldn´t locate you and now I see you were really here :)
Really? Very cool. I was also filming during the day yesterday.
Prague is one of the best cities. I have been there for about six times. Beautiful footage. Thanks a lot from Skiathos Island in Greece.
The statue by the Vltava river shows an allegorical figure Vltava and its 4 tributaries, she is naked, dancing with a strip of cloth draped over her armes.Kranner s fountain,Neo-Gothic monument to Emperor Francis1.Charles Bridge and historic center of Prague are lit by gas lamps.Enjoy your stay.
Its amazing to see my home country through your eyes! Can't wait for other videos from different cities!
Prague's city center was not bombed during World War II. This is why Prague can still shine with its historical authenticity today.
It was sadly, as during the last week of the WWII, there was a mishap - US bombers were supposed to bomb Dresden in Germany, but the pilots got lost in the fog and once they saw a city underneath, they thought they reached Dresden, sadly it was Prague - the river looks quite similar from above... Hundreds of people have been killed, f.e. a hospital has been bombed.. Even the Astronomical clock got some damage + its other half has been destroyed completely. That's the point where the park these days on the Old Town square is standing... But compared to other towns/nations, you're right, it wasn't damaged at all....
@@viktornovomestsky3999 Yeah but in overall it wasn't destroyed as the rest of Europe. So Prague is the least damaged and therefore unique. Stop overexagerating.
@@spacedog_80 Please read the text fully next time, as I wasn't overexagerating. These are my words: "But compared to other towns/nations, you're right, it wasn't damaged at all"..... Simply stop...
Thank you Gabriel! It’s very informative. I’m planning to visit Prague in early June this year. From 🇲🇳
not far from your accommodation is the Anděl City shopping center and in its vicinity there are many and many restaurants where you can find prices much less atmosphere of ordinary Praguers
Prague - surely one of the best cities in the world, an old beauty. Beer looks cheap there for Europe but it is even cheaper in other Czech towns. For day trips, I recommend Karlovy Vary and Pilsen (Plzen) as very interesting cities, also Karlštejn Castle is beautiful (with possible hikes around) and Kutna Hora has interesting big ossuary (although it is also an interesting another ossuary in Brno under the St. James Church). For Česky Krumlov, Hluboka Castle and maybe little town of Trebon or Telč, I recommend having a base in Česke Budejovice (Budweis), another beer town. If you are going to Slovakia, too, then don't miss the second biggest Czech city Brno (for me, it was one of the most positive surprises in the country, it also has the Brno Circuit, a race track) as it is on the path to Trenčin, Prievidza (Bojnice Castle), Čičmany and later High Tatras (Lomnicky štit above Tatranska Lomnica, Štrbske Pleso, Poprad). Trdelnik is a traditional desert in both countries and there are many other traditional dishes, in Slovakia also very good smoked sheep milk oštiepok (called oscypek in Zakopane, Poland region). Very much to see and also very much to enjoy, mějte se krásně.
I will second the high tatras, was there last year. Super beautiful and cheap area, great for a few days to hike in the day and relax in the evening.
Please look at the town of Cesky Krumlov for a possible visit, whatta gem. Also in Prague is a train themed restaurant where your food is delivered to you on a model train. Lastly, just off the main square is the Gallery of Steel Figures. Life size statues made of scrap metal and car parts. Mind blowing detail, see cars you can sit in, dragons, animals, TV, movie and music stars. Just beautiful craftsmanship.
I’ve cumulatively spent about 6 months traveling Europe. In all that time, Cesky Krumlov is my favorite place I’ve been. A gem indeed.
7:02 very intriguing tree hanging over the river well captured!
im glad you managed to find some decently pack, good looking restaurant with atleast an informative menu coming with photos for venturing more further along the city, i would defo consider a tram or subway
Your the OG in Travel vlogs. Great stuff Gabriel.
Hey Gabriel,Kavárna SLavia is somewhat traditional, opened in 1882.. :-) Welcome in Czech republic
I love the architecture it’s captivating! Great vlog as usual Gabriel! All the best from 🇨🇦
Beautiful Prague, your filming is great, no strobing or tech problems showing. Forgot how grand and old the buildings are. That walk across the Charles Bridge looked spectacular with the buildings lit up and reflected on the river. This is going to be one exciting journey! Cheers 🍷😊
Brno is great. Great castles in the south too.
If you get a chance, you should take a day trip to Karlovy Vary!!
Such a magical looking video at the end. I love old cities. I'm really interesting how the rest of Tsjechië will look like. I don't know much about it beside Prague.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤ love Prague! You would love Cêsky Krumlov. The castle is so cool, the other interesting place is Karlovy Vary, a different vibe, with thermal baths and spas. Czech Republic is very underrated, lots of history and impressive architecture, enjoy!
Beautiful place! I really enjoy your food clips as well. Have a wonderful time!🇨🇦❤️
Hi Gabriel, beautiful old buildings! It seems peaceful & that is a blessing!
You could of got a bus and metro in to the city centre
...or a tram
True, but I was exhausted and wanted to do it the simplest, quickest way.
Everyone used to tell me that when I would visit, but after traveling for 21 hours, with a backpack, checked bag the last thing I wanted to ever do was take a bus to the center, then metro or tram, then lug a rolling duffel on cobblestones.
@@stevemcgowen Exactly.
Best city in Europe 🎉. I lived here when I was a student at Charles University. It's very nice. Plus best beer in the world 😂
This is great. Also going to visit Prague this summer so hopefully getting a few tips and heads ups from these videos 👍🏼
Gabriel, the lamps on the Charles Bridge don't blink because they're not electric, they're gas! Otherwise nice video.
Today I learned why in some peoples videos tvs and lights flash. Thank you Gabriel 🤙🏼🖖🏼🍻
You should check out Karlstejn, it's only a half-day trip from Prague. And Karlovy Vary is a must in my opinion. (I'm not Czech, I'm from Hungary, I just love The Czech Republic.)
ahh beautiful European vibes with Gloomy Weather... Beautiful Video Gabriel
AWESOME THUMBNAIL!! Love it! The Charles Bridge is magical. I was there in August (several years ago) and it was SO crowded. A local gave me a tip and told me to get there at sunrise. I set my alarm super early one morning and did it. There were maybe 15 people on the bridge at that time. I got all the pictures I wanted (pre- cell phone days) I’ll never forget that experience as long as I live. Watching your videos of Prague and the Charles Bridge brings back many wonderful memories for me. Thank you ❤️
The Thumbnail is BEAUTIFUL! 🌈
Beautiful ❤ love all the buildings!
I lived there in October-November for 25 days. Such a romantic poetic place. I felt so sad when had to leave. Once I was standing on the bridge and looking at the blue river of Moldau and clowdy blue horizon, and I felt like very melancholic and deeply beautiful at the same time. Its the best city imo to listen to Cocteau Twins, The Cure and shoeagaze
My aunt lives right beside the Charles Bridge! It's a beautiful place, enjoy your visit!
Never ever use a taxi in prague 😎 btw the images on the bridge at 20' are stunning 👍
INXS filmed a music video for "Never Tear Us Apart" in Prague and on the Charles Bridge . . . Cheers!
Cool, didn't realize that. Great song.
also Mission Impossible one and Amadeus were filmed there too. @@GabrielTravelerVideos
For good and cheaper meals in Prague, on the east side of the Vlatava, not far from the center try Žižkov. Vinohrady has nice options as well but is a bit more expensive...I believe Žižkov has the highest per capita pubs in the world
Prague one of the best cities I’ve visited.
Absolutely village like and shabby 😅
Nice choice of music for background at 10:45
visited prague in march 2010, what a city, so much history out there. can't wait to see you filming other cities around, as well, peace!
Cool G, love Prague, will be there in again November.
Hi, very nice video. Btw, when you were walking past the cafe looking for something more cozy and traditional... Kavarna Slavia is one of Prague's most famous and iconic cafes, frequented by artists and writers since the 19th century.
Greetings from a half czech half italian dude
Hey Gabe, just an idea if you go back to Prague again at some point. You can get a bus/coach from the airport I believe it’s number 110 and it takes you to a metro station called Nadrazi Velaslavin where you can go to the main city from there. I believe it only costs a few euros/low amount of CZK when you get a ticket from the machines.
Apologies it’s actually bus 119
My favorite world traveler is in Prague the same time as me.... awesome Gabriel I hope I would find you during your visit...Thank you for all your journeys.
Prague is beautiful.
There is a number 19 bus from a bus stand outside in the car park where you will pay a fraction of the cost compared to a taxi and it’s a luxury coach style of bus
Why did the tourist go to Prague? Because he heard it was the Czech-mate of travel destinations!
I really like these kind of videos. Feel like I am doing the traveling myself. Prague is a great city, been there 7 years ago with my girlfriend. Would love to go back
Great video hopefully you I’ll visit Czechia outside of Prague too! It’s very beautiful as well.
This is such a coincidence Gabriel! I recently went to Prague and I was watching your old Prague videos from a few years ago in preparation!! 😂
Cool.
Looks like a very beautiful city
Beer prices are still reasonable compared to a lot of other places.
I visited Prauge in september 1990. Your video brings back a lot of memories. I would like to come back some day.
Hello Gabriel, I've been in Prague about 10 years ago and I was in a tavern in the embassy area. Its name was U Magistra Kelly. Sadly they closed the restaurant during Covid19 but if you're lucky another restaurant opened at that location. It was really cozy in that cellar vault ambiente.
Need to see Prague
u done another great video
My favorite beer style.. Lucky you get a chance to drink that Pilsner
I need to get to Prague at some point. It looks like the quintessential European city. Also really interested to see the rest of the country
Same
I was really looking forward to this video and here we are🙌🏽
Cool. Next one will be a lot better, showing much more of the city during the day.
I guess this is the first time I watch one of your videos, with you still being there, and not weeks, months or years later. So, now I can give you some pointers: 1 - you should go visit the Sedlec Ossuary, in a town called Kutná Hora, around 70km (44mi) east of Prague; 2 - they also have some very nice churches and museums, even an Aliens Vs Predators Experience Museum; 3 - 66km (41mi) to the north of Prague, it's Terezín, with a huge fortress, a concentration camp and many different museums (even a car museum), also castles and churches; 4 - just north of Prague, you can visit the château where Reinhard Heydrich lived, and where he was leaving from when he got attacked by the resistance (the famous Operation Anthropoid); 5 - to the southwest, you can visit Pilsen and the breweries, the cathedral, the Museum Of Horrors and the Aviation Museum a bit to the north. And there's a lot more to do near Prague. This is just a tiny bit...
Czechia is one of the most underrated countries of Europe.
It doesn't feel under rated if you go in summer time, it's absolutely swamped by tourists.
@@matthewmorris7510, Prague gets the popularity, for sure (and for a good reason), but other parts of the country are surely underrated by western tourists and I believe that next Gabriel's videos will show why.
@@matthewmorris7510 Only Prague is swamped with tourists, Prague and the rest of the Czech Republic are like 2 different countries when it comes to this. Even somewhat touristy towns like Karlovy Vary has nowhere near the size of tourist crowds as Prague,
@@matthewmorris7510prague actually made it in top 5 most touristy citys in Europe with London in 1st. But yeah the rest of czech republic aren't as crowded as the capital
Want to visit less crowded places apart from Prague
I remember as a teen I went to Prague under communism no touristic and so polite people, but problems to communicate and to exchange money as I remember. But it was then such a beautiful unspoiled city
When you were walking across the Charles Bridge with the colour of the sky, I got an image in my mind of the Edvard Munch painting 'The Scream'! Hope that's not a bad omen...
Have a safe trip Gabriel, temperature in Prague was like 30 centigrade 4 days ago.
Wow, so it is indeed a strange cold snap. I'm sure it will warm up again soon.
Was in Prague Oct, 2023, planned a day trip to Dresden Germany, it was cancelled, took the Flex bus, but by the time I figured how to get there I did not have enough time to see much of the city
Go have a dark beer Tmave Pivo at U Fleku if you are looking for the classic Biergarten experience. You won’t be disappointed
Definitely. 🍺
Visit the city Brno its a cool city aswell.
Great to see you back in Europe! Check out the Honest Guide channel on youtube, they are Prague locals and have many recommendations on where to eat like a local and which tourist traps to avoid!
@gabriel GO TO VIMPERK IN SOUTH BOHEMIA
Use the public transport from Airport to Centrum ... just 2 USD !!
Just change your shutter speed to 1/50 sec. You dont’t have to change your frame rate!
Gabriel, not that far from Prague is Bamberg (in Germany) UNESCO world heritage site built over 7 hills. Hire a bike and do a tour of all the breweries 😅 it's a great place. We loved it there 👍
Gabriel managed to choose the most Hungarian food possible in czechia- apart from the knédli, of course. Well done!
I thought in Hungary Gulas is a soup whilst in the Czech Republic it's more of a stew..
@@spacedog_80 can be both. However usually we use the name for the soup. But essentially those are the same dish - obviously the soup made with more water and vegetables.
@@spacedog_80 funniest thing is that in Österreich the goulash is in between the soup and the stew, basically an extreme dense soup.
I recommend You the Strahov monastery with the Strahov library and right next to is the Strahov brewery founded in 17th century. You can take the cable car to Petřín . It is close to your accomodation.
Lots of ugly graffiti tagging just like when I was there a couple months ago. The city needs to implement a graffiti hotline and removal program like they do in a lot of other cities.
Czech beers are top notch
No issues frames per second as he eye compensates via the persistence of visual (visual purple). You have to drop freq closer to 25Hz or c/s for most people to notice, once again depends on the individual. Really no concern. (Technically operating at 6oHz really means less iron used in transformers on the distribution network, cost saving, also smaller in size; there many other reasons. )
U should have tried the dumplings - the most famous in central europe... In its sister city Bamberg and germany alsways in balls, in Prague cut in slices
Hi, Gabriel. A bus ticket is only about 4 Euros and only a 40-minute ride, Enjoy your visit.
Czech republic is a beautiful country from Bangladesh
Very nice. I enjoy your work. You always manage to make things interesting even on ordinary travel days.
Another Awesome Adventure Gabriel Thank You🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada🙂
Avoid the tourist trap areas!!! Go wander off ther beaten path... go to the neighborhoods of Karlin and Zizkov.
Hi Gabriel, time to get adjusted to jet lag again. You know if you don't say where you are it would seem like you're in Germany strangely enough the architecture appears remarkably similar. The weather is still a bit cool but pleasant enough to travel and walk around. Prague doesn't appear to be an extremely busy city but looks very pleasant.
Czechia is officially to be pronouced as "Checkia". "Chechia" sounds too close to "Chechnya"!
Good to know.
Such an exquisitely gorgeous city is *Praha,* truly one of the loveliest and most enchanting in all of Europe...! As ever, **Gabriel*,* an altogether marvellous video-vlog 😊...!! ~❤💖
tourists are there all year. im there in a month, for my 26th visit
Nice❤❤❤❤
it seems you missed the good weather just a week ago it was almost 30 degrees C 😂

I had trouble figuring out crowns, euros is easier
Hope you visit the John Lennon pub, also there’s a Lennon Wall nearby, covered in graffiti, where you can write something on the wall, in remembrance of John 🙂↕️. The area around the wall is interesting too!
