Hey fun fact! The game was created by developers from Czech Republic and in czech, you would pronounce the game name more like "huhel" or, if you took the sound of j pronounced in spanish, then "jujel" The word chuchel in czech means like.. a cluster of dirt or hair or yarn or.. something of the sort :) Kekel on the other hand, the name of the pink mole, means in czech something really disgusting, something that would make you throw up :D

Chuchel feels like one of those kids’ shows with short, bumper-esque episodes to hold kids attention between episodes of other shows that come on PBS kids, especially at night. As a little kid you liked it but you were also a bit scared and confused by it, and your parents hated it but there was nothing objectively wrong with it so they let you watch it anyway because it apparently held your attention. It also feels like something that years later would become lost media and stem into creepypasta territory and also have a cult following of people who used to watch it as kids and are desperately trying to find it.

Revisiting this years later, it's still one of my faves for how offbeat and funny it is. I love how cartoony the world is; not just in physics laws, but also how well the music fits. I also love how for the first "act" everyone just has a jam session after Chuchel is gone lol

For anyone interested "chuchel" is actually pronunced differently in the country it has come from, the Czech Republic. The pronunciation of the "chu" syllable is closer to the Spanish "ju" (as in jugar) and the "che" is like Spanish "ge" (as in Jorge). The sound of the proper pronunciation is really close to how you sound when choking on popcorn 😃. Try to put in Google translate. Chuchel in Czech means a ball of string, hair or dust. Other (more often used) synonyms are "chumel" or "chumáč".
