KF41 Lynx is a modular IFV from Germany's Rheinmetall. It has been first showcased in 2018 and currently being procured by Hungary, and it is in big consideration to be adopted in Australia, Czech Republic and even USA, where it is currently in competition for a vehicle that will replace the M2 Bradley. Remember how I said it is modular. Yeah, every one of those countries that I mentioned, will have different weapons and systems integrated into the vehicle to suit their needs.

nah arjun is still the best ifv, tank, apc, mrap, aa, multi-role fighter, cargo plane, stealth fighter, and frigate out there.
It's an excellent attack submarine too
Truly a alein techonology
And don't forget ICBM
But alas, perhaps the greatest role it fulfills is being a slow mobile bunker.

Also Italy is looking into the Lynx. Many many Nations are looking for some next gen IFV and Rheinmetall can grab a lot of contracts. Together with the genius Boxer 8x8, Rheinmetall can offer some real good stuff.
Romania is also looking for an IFV which would replace its MLI-84 M Jderul a Romanian variant of BMP1 with locally made Israeli designed turret kzhead.info/sun/etCnlZacf2Otimw/bejne.html
The boxer is ridiculously broken
I'm italian. In my opinion, Italy is better off targeting the MGCS project without having to spend the money unnecessarily on a vehicle that will be overtaken by the Franco-German project. Italy with his AICS(Armored Infantry Combat System) project could join the MGCS project and contribute to technology sharing.
fun fact: rheinmetall will have a new 8x8 for this year's eurosatory. There is nearly 0 info about it except it's a hybrid.
Lynx is weak compared to " Borsuk HSW "
To be honest, I really like the CV90, because it has pretty much everything, a 35mm gun for export. The trusty old 40mm bofors, a 105 and a 120mm gun (those last two were prototypes, of course, but it's possible). Else? This thing looks pretty dope, not going to lie
Also mounted spike lr launcher too on the mkiv don't forget
@@Nekaz___01 and has stealth improvements in the form of thermal reducing exterior.
CV90 is arguably the best since it's smaller and packed with more tech. But it's expensive af. Hence why it's absent in Australia competition.
@@nabara6949 idk if you look up the price it does seem like the lynx is more expensive.... the CV90 is like 5 to 7 million dollars depending on where you look while the lynx was sold to hungary for a whopping 10mil per unit. Though take it with a grain of salt, it's hard to find real numbers and not just people referring to each other
@@EnRandomSten BAE didn't offer the Mk 4, only the Mk 3. Didn't meet the Australian requirements. Just bad luck with timing really.
I don't think it will be adopted in the U.S for the simple reason that U.S manufacturers will heavily lobby against it.
Good, I prefer my country to have our own vehicles.
Bet it will be something based off the AMPV
Damn, it looks so modern from the inside. A lot of vehicles are starting to have T-14 looking insides.
Everyone is going with the modular design because every new design and weapon systems are getting expensive and is very time consuming in terms of research and development so it's economically efficient to have a weapon systems that can do a lot of tasks in one platform.

There's some speculation that in november this year will be announced a partnership beetwen a brazilian defense industry and rheinmetall in order to create a MMBT with a 120mm cannon for the brazilian army using Lynx as a basis.

What makes you think this? Is there any article about this possible deal? Why does not Brasil buy proper MBTs like Leopard-2?
@@84rb Why buy Leo 2 when Leo 3 is in development? Easier to wait until its finished and buy it then :D If seriously-they dont even need it, most of South American countries are very weak militarily. Neighbouring Argentine has equivalent of Leo1 which is used by Brasilian Army. Venezuela cant even feed its people, let alone fight a war. Only Chile has used Leos 2, but i dont think that Chile is a threat to Brasil. Thanx for a straight forward and clear presentation about this Lynx 41 fighting vehicle. Rhein Metal is also my first choice of fighting vehicle. Hopefully it can also be transformed into a mortar vehicle and a M.R.L. vehicle.

I hoped for this one so much!
You should do a video on all 5 competitors and give a rundown on each IFV their pros and cons, though point blank will be hard to do seeing as how they don't even have a mock up yet of their will look like.
You forgot to mention the most important feature of the integrated active protection system: it's direction. Germany doesn't like traditional active protection systems because they don't just kill RPGs, but also your own dismounted infantry. So to fit into German combined arms strategy of soldiers protecting tanks, and tanks protecting infantry, the hard kill system fires down into the ground, not far out like even Israeli Trophy system does. That should greatly increase survivability of rocket and missile attacks for both crew and soldiers outsides.
that nord vpn add was pretty nice keep em coming and i migth just not skip em
The active/passive protection is great!

I would still Consider it as my MBT than driving Arjun
Arjun sucks. Better to just make better IFVs that can destroy mbts
@@KamikazeMedias you dare disrespect Arjun you ignorant being

Ukraine will buy the rest 100marders .greece will have only 40 pieces
With Raytheon and Textron helping Rheinmetall I think they will win.
It's interesting how the future of weapons is shaping up. The production of new equipment will be more company centered rather than nation centered. We might see more and more countries use the same vehicles in their inventory. No longer will we see every nation with their own variation of a vehicle role.
best add Segway ever I latterly was thinking what was the thing he was advertising
Maybe our Polish brand new Borsuk would interest you? It's rare, cause it's amphibious, has also domestic unmanned turret with double, protected, Spike LR launcher, reloadable from under the hull, but the container is external, so the Spikes are no threat to the crew. 30mm autocannon with coaxial machinegun, easily interchangeable to Super 40, in the field, in 15 minutes. 3 (!) types of ammo feed. Optionally manned, if damaged. Domestic, very high quality BMS and FCS. Overall the turret is ugly but one of the best if not the best in the world right now if it comes to unmanned solutions. We start mass production next year, about 1000 of them in base version is planned.
The Lynx looks beautiful but i not doubt that they maybe had an liiiiiiil bit inspiration from the PL-01
they managed to fit a turret on the lynx that houses the 120mm smooth bore cannon derived off the Leopard 2's gun pretty wild for an IFV
That ad was pretty funny 😄
I think Canada should have a proper IFV and the CV90 and Lynx are two good choices. Canadaian version will have heated seats and a kettle and good AC too. As well drone launchers for scooting and extra smoke grande lunchers added. We could start with about 66, and be better prepared for traditional wars like in Ukraine or WW3.
A video about thr CV9040 versions like the C version thats used in the Swedish army would be cool
I'm very much a fan of the AS21 Redback.....please cover this IFV in the next video
Can the Lynx be given the same protection level as the Puma? Also, can it be fitted with network capability and anti drone weapons systems?
It actually has. As shown it has active and passive protection system.
It is not same .Armament is similar but has different armor
I love your channel bro great content
Would be interesting to see a video about the new CV90 MKIV
The CV90 is better than all the ifv’s if you ask me.
„New“ 🧐
if the Lynx win even 2 of these competition, it'll probably drive price down drastically just by sharing the program and manufacturing cost over more countries. This makes it even more appealing to other countries. Especially with allies who then can share a common logistic system.
Also supply, maintenance and production becomes more resilient with multiple production sites. Especially during war very important.
Update on the lynx in the czech army - the ministry of defence choose to not accept any of the ifvs that were in trials. So we still have bmp2s with almost no spare patrs
We also care! We have already built the factory with Rheinmettal! And we already have the LYNX-KF41 ! 🇭🇺🤝🏻🇩🇪
And now the Leopard 2A7 too. Protect your borders. Stay safe 👍
Protect? Hungary wants back what it lost in the Treaty of Trianon.
Greece also is close to buy 205pieces
Do you think the Lynx would be a better choise then Ascod or CV90 for the Czech republic?
They are all pretty capable so I guess it will be a political decision in the end.
@@sebastianriemer1777 it comes down to logistics. one of the czechs requirements are that the ifv must be able to be loaded on to a train carriage. The lynx is to big for that so the czechs will most likely pick the Cv90
Its for sure better than Ascod, but i think CV90 Is better option because of the lower cost and logistical reasons (Lynx Is just too wide for Czech railway wagons and more importantly, it can't cross most medium sized bridges due to the big weight)
@@victorolofsson2792 MBT's like M1 Abrams can be loaded onto train. soe if Czechs have Standard Gauge Rails, I don't think it will be a problem.
@@victorolofsson2792 Of course, the 4-5 cm difference in width counts for a lot in the railway profile :-)... CV90 was chosen because KF41 is much more expensive... (it costs almost twice as much)
How much does it cost? Hope not 20milion like Puma. But i would buy the as1 redback and it has amfibious. That is iron fist with only 4 APS projectile but Trophy can be integreted in IFV also but has no passive armour.
Greece with the largest amount of Leopard 2's and half of then are 2a6 and the other half almost entire will be upgraded to 2a7, which makes Greece's Leopards 2 military power the biggest collection. Turkey is the only with equal amount but the are all 2a4's. Greece just also placed order of 250 KF41 Lynx's
205*
We got the Redback here in Australia..
It will be interesting to see what comes from the CAWS (Common armored vehicle system) program, which includes Finland, Sweden, Germany and Lithuania. Finland has the Patria AMV XP, Sweden has the CV90 series and Germany has Puma and Lynx. The aim is to have a common modular chassis for APCs and IFVs and supplement them with loads of possiböe loadouts. There is definitely the worlds best Apc and IFV in there if the program succeeds.
That's not what CAWS is about. CAWS is based on the Patria 6x6 for support roles, not IFV.
Will you make a video about CV90 family ?
God this reminds me of the early 2000's when defense analysts said CV90 series would rule the world. The lynx will likely get a few contracts then fade into obscurity when a new big dick energy IFV is announced.
Agreed. The only way I think it will become a more mainstream vehicle is if the US decides to go with it for their OMFV program
They're still good though
7 countries 1000+ vehicles 🤷
@@jansix4287 more than half of the CV90's built are operated by Sweden. So yeah those production numbers don't even come close to the BMP3, Warrior, and Bradley.
@@nemisous83 Those are outdated Cold War tanks. Nothing will sell in these numbers ever again.

Ad time was so cool
There has been some great new tanks and IFVs being put out as of late but there seems to be a common issue of putting them into service. I hope the Lynx has a much smoother rollout than the Puma or the Armata family.
It looks to be as hard as Krupp steel so the odds are pretty good I'd say.
Probably because there is no war for them to serve in
Rheinmetall has a 50% stake in making Puma with KMW, Lynx is 100% Rheinmetall`s baby for export. Going by that, you can be sure that the Lynx will have a smoother rollout due to the sheer experience of rolling out the Puma for the Bundeswehr. Plus, the Puma can be viewed as a heavily customized Lynx for the Bundeswehr.
One lynx to rule them all, one lynx to find them, one lynx to bring them all and in the darkness bind them, in the land of DAARPA where the shadows lie...
Can you talk about the new VCI of Spain, The 8x8 Dragon?
at 2030 wouldn't the veicle be a bit less modern than others? or will they change the requirements in last minute if it is needed. I dont think it would be a problem tho
I mean it IS modular after all
It's just the fact of most military procurement. Look at the awesomely advanced Puma IFV. It was the first serious combat vehicle to feature camera-only visuals and unmanned turret but that vehicle was made in the 2000s and even though the Bundeswehr is just at the cusp of replacing their old IFVs the Puma is already showing its age. For example it runs on old operating systems and uses monochrome displays. Yes, you heard it like, a vehicle which relies entirely on monochrome displays. Replacing those is plausible but also causes various bugs on which they work their hardest to fix.
Bruh the ad was the best lmao
If the future of IFV is a 44ton monster the size of a mbt with the tactical transport problems that comes with then sure, but that feels limiting to where and when it can be used.
Korean AS21 redback is alternative for Lynx but better?
Ewww that ad drop though ,respect
That ad was better than most commercials nowadays ngl...
Red effect can you tell something about the belarussian T-72BME?
Can it cross most bridges as per weight, or does it have snorkel... Otherwise it's planned use will be hindered for it's purpose as Europe is riddled with low load bridges. Maybe there's a app for that lol...
I feel like they are going to run into the same problem Type 90 had
more or less every main road bridge in europe has enough load capacity for modern MBT (except Challenger 2&3 with TES, wich come close to the limits). Secondary roads have that too. Major rivers have bridges with enough load capacity every few km and minor rivers/creeks can be crossed via wading or bridgelayer bridges if neccesary.
Lol your ad got me. It was cute.🤣
oh boy, so genetically modified fighting dogs who drive the tanks and wear helmets are included in the package? thats impressive
I can’t seem to find any information on the supposed (up guning) of the Abrams I heard that they are thinking about putting a 140 mil on it, is this true or what?

(Puma IFV) vs (KF 41) Vs (Kurganets-25) . Which is the best?
Considering the Puma failed its initial testing I'm going to go with either the Lynx or the Kurganets. To elaborate: they focused far too much on the protection of the Puma, which led them to sacrifice everything else about the vehicle including troop capacity & crew comfort. They lost sight of what an IFV is supposed to do while trying to force it to be invincible.
easily the puma
@@MrUoutthere I have to disagree. The systems of the puma are way newer (and therefore less reliable but also better) Troop capacity of 6 men is standart for the German army.
@@emilsinclair4190 Huh? The Lynx is much newer and yet is also much more reliable. The puma is just overrated imo. EDIT: 6 may be the standard, but the Puma is well known for its cramped interior when fully loaded
@@MrUoutthere yes the lynx is more reliable because they mostly focused on proven parts from the puma and marder. But this also means that most of the nice stuff is not in the lynx since it is not reliable (and also expensive) Sure but newer does not mean better. The more you look into the fine technical details you will seethe differences. From its suspensions, to the data links to the troops, to the engine. Yep it is cramped in the puma. But this also makes it easier to protect the soldiers. And it frees up space for upgrades to hold this vehicle in service for a long time.
Please T-15 Armata vs KF41 in Tank Arena:D Btw very good video as always ;)

@Gorilla thanks for the link!
@RedEffect can you make some video about Serbian modernisation IFV M-80A
How does the Lynx compare to the Puma and would lynx alse be good choice for german Bundeswehr?
The bundeswehr would never buy this thing
The Puma is specifically made for the Bundeswehr demands. No other vehicle would meet them more than the Puma.
Puma can be viewed as heavily customized Lynx for the Bundeswehr. It seems the Germans really went heavy on the armor for their variant, even at the cost of potential dismounts.
Bradley should've been replaced before it rolled of the production line.
You should talk about the CV90
If the US were to adopt this vehicle it would need to mount a 50mm auto cannon, as the Pentagon requires a 50mm cannon on the replacement.
Rheinmetall have developed a 50mm autocannon and they said they can fit it on the Lynx. That's one of the great advantages, when you have a modular platform, it can take several types of turrets, mission packs and armor modules, and they can be changed on the field.
Pls make a video about the Lynxs competitors
Thing looks straight out of Tom Clancy’s End war lol
the main question is, when is it going to beavailable in best buy🤔??
"...Linux, it doesn't matter!" Never a truer word!

Damn.. We have theese in hungary!? I wasn't even aware about them, just the Leo 2s. I'm properly scared now.
Not yet, i think they are under production rn, we gonna have them in a year or so..
As usual these seemingly smaller things make a huge difference, and I bet the US will lag behind for years (or decades) to implement them. It seems trivial but these systems to easily manage friendly positions and coordinate with vehicles and squads is still quite amazing..I bet other nations will think'oh it's not needed' but they'll just be slow in realizing how helpful even half these german techs in the past years add up in effectiveness; even considering they are relatively 'defensive forces
